I'm releasing the clutch after every gear change. It does not always happen though. It comes occasionally. But when it happens it's a real disturbance.

Are you releasing the clutch after every gear change? Or trying to shift 2-3 gears while holding the clutch?

In that case, namely RPMs don't matter, the clutch plates must have been worn out. Take it to a better ASC before you simply stall on road one day.

If once the gear does not change then it won't change at all until I release the clutch slightly. It also happens when I shift to 1st gear from neutral. It happens irrespective of the speed or rev range.

It should be the clutch plates slipping around, because of improper engagement and disengagement. Try downshifting around 2k-5k rpm. Clutch slips, unlike logic goes, are prevalent at the bottom rev range also.

How many kilometres have you done before this started? What bike were you using before the baby?

Maybe, just maybe, the clutch plates might have been worn out.


EDIT : Only if newbie: Make sure that you're not in a speed too high for the gear and rpm. Example, downshifting from 2nd to 1st can be very clumsy if you're running at 30Kmph, 6000 rpm on 2nd gear.

Hello guys,
Recently facing a problem with the gear shifter. Almost every time I'm not able to downshift at the 2nd and 3rd gears. Is it a problem with the clutch or the gear? Just wanted to know. The SVC guys don't know what to do. The SVC here is just pathetic.

Any Coimbatore 150R owners ?
Needs to service my bike., I am from Dharapuram.
So needs a word on service offered at ASCs.

Need to do Fork balancing mainly.

PS. Shifted to Dharapuram from B'lore recently. So, not aware of CBE ASCs.

Totally Agree! I already met with an accident (Reason - uneven braking) on wet surface at 80 kmph, that taught me how/ when/ where to apply brakes.

To be really honest, I'd say this tyre will easily last me a good 10k kilometers more, if not 15-20k kilometers. It does lose traction on dusty roads once in a while under medium to hard braking, but that is absolutely okay, considering the fact that we're not supposed to ride fast in such conditions. I'm always careful while applying brakes, especially at the front, so even when it did lose traction and slip sideways, I have developed an instinct to release the brakes immediately and the tyre caught traction seamlessly. I faced one instance this Sunday while riding to Nandi Hills, when a localite decided to bring his bike right in front of mine, just when I was about to overtake, in order to avoid a pothole on a dusty patch. I hit the brakes, and the front-wheel slipped, I thought that was it! But as I said earlier, I released the brakes by instinct and luckily stayed aboard the bike, with a near miss of that guy's bike. You can appreciate the tyre a fair bit. But always be careful on wet stretches as hard-braking or cornering a little to hard might land you into trouble on wet/moist roads.

Thanks for your reply..installed the same yesterday on my bike. It cost me around 2.2k, though first impression is good let see how it goes but a bit relief considering the experience you have with this tyre.

Hi Suraj,
My bike came with TVS tyres and the current front tyre was the first replacement I have made at the front, hence I cannot comment on the Zapper FQ series.
The tyre has run for around 20k kilometers now, and seems to have a lot of life left. As regards grip and stability, I'd really recommend this tyre. It has a really good dry grip and a fairly good wet grip, it has saved my life a few times too!
Go progressive on the braking and this tyre does not disappoint. I keep experimenting with my braking skills on empty stretches and this tyre has a really impressive performance for 1.8k INR (that's the price that I got it at from an MRF dealer in Thane, he has closed down now).

Hey buddy, sorry for the accident hope you are doing good. Just wanted to ask performance of Zapper FX-1 you installed in ur bike. How is the grip, performance as compare to the stock Zapper FQ?

Please install a a plastic cardboard flap below the mudguard where the number plate is attached. Fitting altogether a rear mudguard is an expensive affair considering monsoon is onlu going to last a couple of months now. I use a flap on the rear and almost 90% of the problem is solved. And if people are cursing you, then it is their fault they are not supposed to tail gate any vehicle whatsover and in rainy season, its a big no no

It has been discussed heavily in the cbr250r thread. When your bike is completely cool..take a bottle filled with water, make a hole in that and then spray that water on the clogged radiatorand use a tooth brush and brush the fins in a vertical manner but remember, BE GENTLE.

Plain water will do, if you plan to use soapy water it will yield better cleansing.

The above method has no harm to the radiator and can be done at home itself.

JUST MAKE SURE, THE BIKE SHOULD BE COOL AND THE RADIATOR SHOULD NOT BE HOT.

radiator is clogged by mud, and i am not able to remove that mud. Any solution guys??

Has anyone attached a rear tyre hugger to their cbr? People behind me turns quite angry during rains.
