Re: Honda CBR 150 R
If it were the indonesian model, I would have waited. But it was the one which is in your avatar. I really wanted the orange variant. The new ones were only red, blue and greenOriginally posted by Jakku View Post

Re: Dilemma - To buy or to wait.
Hi Ankey,Originally posted by Ankey View PostBrother, There is no confirmed news about any updates for a new CBR150R, neither is there any news that it will be discontinued. So it is fairly safe to buy it.
Also as you said it fulfills all your needs and requirements. And nothing is outdated, a bike gathers reputation overtime, it proves itself over the test of time, tells you that it is reliable, well built and worth your money. The CBR250R was a new kid on the block few year ago, now its the daddy of the tourers, showed the Bullet fanboys how a real tourer should behave, went to Leh and back countless times and never disappoint its owners.
Same thing with CBR150R, it is a gem of bike and you like it, what does it matter if it is old. Being old only means that it is build to last and is here to stay.
About the new models, there is no news, don't believe anything until the sources are reliable. And there is always something new around the corner, so you will always be waiting for the next new thing. Better to buy something that is available now. I bought an R15 in 2014, it was launched in 2008 that made it 6 years old when I bought it, doesn't mean its bad, it only shows how good the bike is to last so long, when you have a new crappy Discovers or Pulsars every 6 months.
Hope this will help you make up your mind.
Choose wisely brother.
I appreciate your taking time to provide your opinion. Yes, this will indeed help me make up my mind.
And i liked your pulsar/discover analogy.

Did you mean the Indonesian model while referring to the 'new' model?Originally posted by Nick Isaacs View PostWith regard to graphics, the new CBR150s have new graphics and an extra BHP. I prefer the Orange-white combo though. Thats why I hurried and got it when the showrooms told me the new ones are coming and the orange is out of stock.

At the outset, let me tell you I have already zeroed in on the bike, that I am quite convinced, is the right choice for me. Its a Honda CBR150R. This post may seem to digress from the guidelines to post in this forum, so if mods find this post irrelevant, please do move it to an appropriate forum. And my apologies in advance, I am new here.
I have been longing to buy a new bike for a while. I have a thing for full faired bikes and at the same time, as I will be riding more in the cities or having long rides, comfort is paramount. In addition to that my budget is clipped at 150K. So, after considerable research and taking in several factors, I selected Honda CBR 150R. I was discussing about the same with my friend last day, when he raised this question "Why do you wish to waste your money on an outdated machine? Honda will not release 2016CBR in India and current model, the graphics apart, is over 4 years old." This lead me to have second thoughts.
So I would like to hear the opinion from all the experts out there. Am I buying an outdated machine and probably going to regret this decision, say when they discontinue current model/roll out a new model? Should I rather wait for a new model or another brand to roll out a new model?
PS: Suzuki Gixxer SF didn't appeal to me aesthetically, so its out of the question. (Gixxer owners, I mean no offence, an entirely personal view).Yamaha R15's sportier stance is way out of my league.

Do I have to deflate the tyre before switching to air?Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostWell air is around 78% nitrogen itself. I don't think 22% will make that much of a difference.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Another query,
Petrol bunks that supply nitrogen is very rare now in my area. I've been to 6 places and none of them offer nitrogen for my tyres. I'm planning to switch to air. I just gave my bike for service, and they said I can simply fill air in the tyre as its 30% nitro and 70% air. I did not understand them much due to language problems. Can I simply start filling air in my tyres now? and continue to do so later on? I've read somewhere, that when making the switch, I should first deflate the tyre. Is that necessary?
Sorry for the n00by question, this is my first bike :PLast edited by Nick Isaacs; 07-26-2016, 10:53 AM.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
I will be doing one very soon. Shall post pictures if it works out well.Originally posted by Nick Isaacs View PostHas anyone mounted a mobile clamp on their cbr? If so, please share some pics and also which clamp.
I got both the alloys changed at Tansi Honda this week. Collected the bike on Wednesday. The bill came to 10,446/- out of which 575/- was for labour. The front cost around 4.6k and the rear cost some 5.2k inclusive of VAT.
The ICICI Lombard representative said they'll reimburse around 50% of the amount. Let's see how that works out.
Here are pics of the new alloys. It was raining when I collected the bike so they got dirty already. Pics were clicked the next day. :P

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Well, when I visited Tansi Honda I took a look at the rear wheel, I found that dented too. In fact, when I felt the base of the rim, it was cracked!Originally posted by sman999 View PostSorry abt the unfortunate incident. You can replace it under insurance claim as It would dig a hole in your wallet for about ~8k. I had changed the rear rim in my cbr which costed approx ₹8600.
Yet it didn't leak any air at all, weird. So I'm getting both wheels changed under insurance. Have left the bike at the ASC for repair. Hope I get her back soon.
On the positive side, I was thinking of gifting my ride a pair of rim stripes to make her look better. Any suggestions?
