Ya I dont discredit the prompt service offered by KTM.
But its a hassle to take your bike every time to the service center to cover up those small issues.
My point is if the problem is one-off then its your bad luck, but if the problem occurs to every bike, that means its a production glitch, which should have been sorted out in the factory itself during PDI.

OT- Almost the same thing is happening with M&M XUV500, where there are many niggles in the production cars (even in the fresh lot of production), and most of the owners are facing it. But the M&M is offering good A.S.S to cover them up.
Question is would you like to have such small issues in your ride, after paying such premium amount??

k&n doesn't change exhaust sound in anyway.... Exhaust sound stays exactly the same as before... What you get to hear is the intake roar while the air is sucked up... Why mess with your new bike with a k&n... Ride it for few thousand kms then think about it... If the airfilter box is the same as the earlier pulsars then you can put the k&n stock replacement filter...

+1 to this. I don't want a single issue in my bike even if i am paying 30-40k for my ride. But the new bikes are quite improved. New owners are not facing any problem in Duke.

@anirude : I have not faced this problem and as the bike is in RUN IN period i am not riding it at 6000rpm. I have tried once for twice at 5000rpm but that was only for a short distance and i did not face problem during that period. I suggest you to take your bike to the service centre and get it checked.

The service guys are not responding to you saying that it happens till 1000kms. If they do not entertain you properly please write to bajaj customer care. Also as you have clocked 350kms i suggest you to ride for another 100kms and get your 1st service done and report all problems at that time.
You are correct that the bike is in RUN IN period thats why I noticed after 350 kms because I had to make a emergency type overtake and the bike did not respond smoothly through that range. Then i tried checking in every gear thinking that it might just be a 6th gear issue but to my surprise it was doing that in all the gears. will try and check again after my first service maybe. as it is till then i have to be under 5k rpm anyways.

ha ha .. ya right ... is there any way to modify the username ?

and for guys who were worried about the seat height -
200ns seat height is 805mm and for duke its 810mm .. u can take a test ride of duke and decide if you can manage the ns or not ..i found the seat height of duke to be low .. sales rep told me that height can be increased by hardening the rear suspension setting ..it also means that soft rear suspension setting = lower seat height...

The problem with K&N is it filters less and i.e. more impurities in the mixture. Removing the stock cap can do the same..

                            +1. Better leave it stock.

                            • +1 to that opinion on stock air filter. Some reviews and my personal experience also says that stick filter is more economically and effective for the engine.that being said not sure whether carburetor use in ns will have any effects as in fi bikes while using kn filters
