Although i don't have 200NS but from what i know(i own a discover with eurogrip tyres), tvs eurogrip tyres(which are in 200NS too) skid too much under extremely hard braking or on wet roads.Originally posted by faffy View Post
this is what i was scared of.....
@ MG and payeng and others who have tested NS for long durations: How was the grip of stock tyres under hard braking/ panic braking/wet road? I have still not got answer to this question. Please share some info.
I would be taking delivery this friday... if tyres are bad i would like to go nd exchanage them..
I won't either recommend you to go with MRF because they wobble too much under harsh braking (experienced this a lot of times on my pulsar 180 with MRF ones) + a lot of duke owners have the same issue with MRF tyres
Do some research regarding the best tyres out there and get them fittedLast edited by Abhi D; 07-03-2012, 06:53 PM.

My first post on xBhp
Hey guys, I am from kanyakumari ( Southernmost Tip of our country
)
( this is going to be pretty long post, so please bear with me
)
As a birthday gift, at last my parents agreed to get a bike for me. I was ecstatic as i was an automobile enthusiast since 9th std. I had my eye on two bikes, The Yamaha Fazer and The Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS. I saw the NS and liked it at first sight. From the second week of may, i kept checking for its price details but they never seemed like coming. So, i was about to give up and decide on the Fazer when on June 2nd, The NS price was revealed to be Rs.85000 ex-showroom. For a moment i could not believe my eyes
Then after long discussions with my parents, i was able to convince them to get the NS
( I showed my dad MG sir's review and the ownership experiences of all the NS'ians on this thread
) So i owe a lot to you guys
Mileage and price were important to me and i hoped the NS would give me above 40 always. I finally booked the bike on 29th June
The showroom guy was trying to convince me to get the Pulsar 220
But i was firm on my decision. I didnt give any colour preference because he said i can choose after the bikes arrive. Most probably i will choose Red and Black or bumblebee
Price details: Price of bike - 86938, life tax- 6955, Regn fees - 450, Fitment charge - 630, Insurance - 2177 for a total of Rs.97150
He said that the expected delivery is during 2nd week of july
i am waiting with bated breath to get the 1st bike of my life
Thank you all, especially to chintan, rocketjack, consciyash, surojit and all the other owners of NS for your valuable feedback
(P.S Payeng, your articles on Run-in period and difference between carburettor and Fi were excellent! keep up the good work
)

I am also new to this... The current default settings works fine for me...Originally posted by govind.one View PostSorry.. I am a little new to this..should we keep changing it whenever we decide to ride alone or with a pillion? I mean.. but which setting works best when riding with a pillion.. and which one works best riding alone..

you cannot fit the duke rear tyre to ns because of the tyre profile difference .. sprocketing will all go wrong then ..i ve owned fz in the past and its tyres had saved me from a lot of crashes which could ve happened .. mrf revz soft compounds are among the best , but they are puncture magnets .. the front fz tyre is a direct fit and the r15 v2.0 rear tyre is a direct fit for ns ( its a soft compound radial tyre mrf revz ) .. these are your best options ..Originally posted by Speedshift View PostToday on two occasions I had to panic brake and on both the occasions the rear tyre skidded pretty quickly. I have a Yamaha FZS as well and it has never happened on it and panic breaking is always confident inspiring without any skids or drifts.
Now my question is can I fit in the Duke rear MRF Revz at the rear of NS. Is it possible...??? Front will be Zapper from FZS.

Absolutely great pics. Can you specify the location??
PS- I wasn't a fan of the yellow colour, but with every such post certainly grabbing my attention.

Yellow is pretty bright and hence you notice the black portions pretty well since black is kinda less flashy than Yellow xPOriginally posted by Shibadip View PostWOW man

Exactly..Originally posted by DDsouza View PostYellow is pretty bright and hence you notice the black portions pretty well since black is kinda less flashy than Yellow xP
Am sure of not taking a black one coz the side black panels looks the same from a distance. [sorry @chintan]
Am a big fan of RED-BLACK combo. Had a p150 with silver alloys, and got them painted black much before bajaj launched the UG2 version
For 200 NS the Blue-Black also looks appealing to me.
And now the Bumble-bee is also getting on to me..
Guess will have to decide the colour while seeing it in flesh. But God knows when that day wll come

I am aware of the r15 v2.0 MRF revz but the revz from duke looked more appealing. Since that is ruled out now should it be better to spend the extra 1.5k and go for the Pirelli Sports demon both front and rear, the stock sized ones. I've ridden my bike about 400kms so i guess my stock eurogrip ones would have to be kept as an option as I don't think any dealer will be willing to take them.

Blue kinda looks dull in pictures, also looking at them in flesh would make a difference xD

Me too, but now it seems there is "problem of plenty" for meOriginally posted by DDsouza View PostTrue bro, i had made up my mind when the beast was launched in RED \m/\m/ xD
One of me friend @toxicbiker, went to mumbai for official work.Originally posted by DDsouza View PostBlue kinda looks dull in pictures, also looking at them in flesh would make a difference xD
There he saw two NS-Blue and red.
He told that blue looks better than red!!!, but then again he also told me that the red one was not properly maintained, while the blue was a shining one!!
And to add to that he saw the bike during night. So the blue might have worked its magic there.
All-in-all it seems better to decide the colour after seeing it in flesh.sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
