THe seats are definitely softer and comfier than the duke.Pillion would be happier but only just as compared to the duke because I think the rider's seat is longer than on the duke. The fit and finish is good too but looked a notch below than what we get on the duke though. The headlamps were great.
I found the black colour a bit dull. May be becuase it was a rainy and gloomy morning and the orange duke was near it. Probably black is meant for that purpose. Being invisible and stealthy. BUt the NInja Black better meets these qualities. Yellow was not on display so can't comment.
All in all the bike has great presence and would have so even more in the brighter colours.
OTR quoted was 95K. No test drives.
Nice to see appreciation of 200NS from a duke owner.
BTW, if possible, get a test ride from a dealer or a friend, and let us know about the difference of feel between the two!!!

But keep in mind that the duke has been around for a while now and has been bought by enthusiastic people mostly. So not even a single tiny problem would go unreported. So you'll get more reports of 'issues'.
All the bikes when launched are 'issue free' IMO. The CBR and the duke for example. Both were eagerly anticipated and people went for them. Issues did crop up for both of them later as experiences started pouring in.
The NS has only been ridden by a handful of people here and that too for not so long. Surely in 1 or 2 months' time issues would be reported here too.

-- checked out ns thread and no problems here .. not even 1 ..

Engine heats quickly to give optimum performance in short time. Its designed to be that way.Felt engine heat issue only in traffic. And now that i have switched to motul 7100, the heat is bearable.
-- gear slips , mis-shifts , false neutrals between gears( deadspots)
The gear shift lever needs to be adjusted for play
        -- fork oil leakage
Has happened in the intial lot.now its taken care of
-- exhaust pipe near engine is loosing color and the chrome plating is peeling off ..
supposed to be that way.And its STAINLESS STEEL.its bound to have discoloration on heating but atleast im satisfied that it wont rust coz i have seen rust on many biles exhaust.
-- engine dies suddenly while riding .. can only start again after turning off the key and on again ..
this happens when u are riding with low fuel or if you are in higher gear than you are supposed to be in.And with duke you have to keep revs on higher side.
-- chain goes loose every few kms and starts slapping the swing arm ..
        correction...every 400-500 kms.
-- duke engine seized before first service ( 4 dukes in team-bhp thread)..
this has happened due to not following of run in instructions.but all of them have got piston block replaced under warranty.

ns shares same engine block with duke but dukers are getting their legs and thighs fried with just 15 mins of riding ..they even say that the heat can be felt by pillion and also by the people standing around them at the signal lights
dude, my thighs are intact after 2000 kms with 2 trips of 600 kms.

They were recommending Motul 7100 FS oil but later their engineer came and asked them to put DTSi oil.

        Now the Mileage reoprt :
The ODO of the bike was 14 when I got the tank full, today it was 467 and again I got the tank full and it took 9.43 litres to full the tank.

        Mileage = 467-14/9.43 = 48.03
Duke gives 30 in very hard riding(upwards of 110-120) and heavy throttle inputs in city and 39/40 on highways with 80-100 speed.

My driving was mostly in the city. Never rode above 4k RPM except on 5 occasions that too only for a few hundred metres and not above 8k RPM.

P.S. : The bike was in main and NOT in reserve even after 453kms of riding.
        Hi speedshift,
I own a duke 200.And my first free service costed me 1400 bucks with motul 7100 fs oil(1004 rs),oks chain spray can(250rs) and oil filter was abt 70 rs.the svc is looting you seriously.

          Hi,
          Sorry for the late reply.

          Ex-Showroom Price: Rs75707
          Vat @12.5 % : Rs9463
          Road Tax and Registration: Rs6893
          Smart Card: Rs370
          Insurance Comprehensive: Rs1919
          Accessories: Rs788
          Misc. Charges [H.C & L.U] : Rs405

          Total: Rs95545
This was all that was printed on the Invoice.

Cashless : Rs300 [For claims, no money needed, it will be changed instantly such as parts or anything else]
HSRP [High Security Registration Plate] : Rs575
Affidavite : Rs350 [I didn't had all the documents needed]
          Stamp Duty : Rs599 [ 2 years extra Warranty]
          Final Total: Rs97369

But, it feels more when you compare to other showroom prices being offered in Delhi.

          Likes:
          1. The looks and its very comfortable round the corners.
          2. Seats are comfortable with good grip.

          Problems:
          1. When I start early in the morning, left it to remain idle, the engine stops running like say after 10-15 secs. Then again I start, it happens again.
Also, I have noticed is as soon as I try to put on some throttle in neutral, it stops again. but when I ride for some km or so, then these problems are not there.
Is there any problem with tuning ? But, if yes then why it doesn't happen after some ride distance.

          2. Gear: Its smooth and very effective. Only thing is when i try to move from 3rd gear to 2nd, it sometimes doesn't gets into it. I have to leave the clutch again and try again for the gear change, then it happens.

I'm through with 200 km, should I change my engine oil and get service at 600 km ?

Owners and seniors, please suggest me through my problems .

This is a common practice here in delhi, the inflated bill is due to the engine oil additive/supplementary oil and coolant top up i guess. They also recommended the Motul 7100FS oil to me but i refused as i didn't want FS oil before the second service. Also had I gone for the Motul oil I had to buy two cans of 1 litre each as 1.4 litres was required, the second one would be returned to me ofcourse, also Rs. 50 were charged for the coolant top up.

Thanks for the input, i'll definitely keep them in mind the next time.

forget about 4k kms...this oil is bullcrap man...dont even last 2k properly... Will the svc guys allow motul 3100 ss?

This is not a problem at all, it happens with every carb bike.Don't change default tuning and let your bike idle for at least a minute before riding it first in the morning. When you ride your bike for a distance then engine gets warm that's why you don't face such issue after that.
                            I am loving my NS
