    My bike is still unregistered but just could not resist this morning. Work up at 5 AM & took bike for a spin on eastern express highway. A good 15 kms ride. Saw a police beat below Mulund east fly-over and just zoomed off before ... you know ..

    My take on bike so far -

    Dislike -
    * Blue back lit indicators. Either they should have been white or no back lit.

    Totally respect your thoughts. It's a matter of personal choice.. you like it or you don't like it.

    * Console is turned off when engine kill switch is engaged to kill ignition.

    Since it's all DC motorcycle, it's a step to save battery power

    * Console back lit is not always ON unlike ZMA

    Same as above

    * High turning radius may create problems initially.

    It's a matter of getting used to, just a matter of training yourself on the bike

    * Switches at left hand side are difficult to access while gloves are on.

    Agreed

    * Personally finding clutch lever far stretched. Hope I can adjust it.

    Aftermarket levers are available... I'm planning the same too

    Mad at -
    * Bike sways to left as soon as I leave handle. Also, one can feel the handle bar slightly left aligned. This issue has been reported by Chintan already.

    That really needs attention from Bajaj

    * Side mirrors are small.

    This is a Pulsar legacy, but it's best till date in all the Pulsars (anyways everything is way far back in the RVM, not much fun in seeing them as the fun lies in concentrating front (bad joke I know )

    Like -
    * Everything else

    aaaahaaaa

    Today I am going for RTO passing at showroom and would convey my feedback to the showroom manager. But also want to contact Bajaj directly about handler bar issue at least. Will also get clutch lever adjusted to my needs.

    Questions -
    * Can owners tell me what is the idle rpm currently set on their bikes?

    No idea till date (damn.... I'm not even an owner till date!!)

    * Are clutch & brake levers adjustable?

    As I said after market levers

    * Anybody opted for high security IND number plates? Can they fit directly?

    They did on my previous P200!!

    This is what I had been waiting for. But I guess, real world flood situation would be a lot more difficult considering muck & dirt which was missing in this test. Anyway, there is a lot to cheer about with this video floating now.

    Why would you want to take the bike out in FLOOD !! Stay home, watch a movie with pakoda and coffee (I so like pakoda and coffee!! )
    Twist your wrist and feel the shift!!

    My own thoughts - Throttle

      By the way, bikes like the R15, CBR150R/250R, Ninja 250R, 200 Duke and 1000 cc imports don't come with center stand.. even as an accesory.

      Cool.

      So the Pulsar 200NS with the underbelly exhaust is actually better to ride in flooded areas than bikes with normal exhausts..!!

      Where did they got the double stand?

          No, it is not required to remove the tyre for puncture repair on a tubeless tyre.

          The center stand will be available as an accessory on the P200NS after sometime.

                  • First Service Done & Mileage Report

                    Total Bill = Rs. 1168

                    Engine Oil = Rs.650
                    Oil Filter = Rs.74
                    Engine Oil Additive = Rs.98
                    Chain Wash = Rs. 75
                    Fuel injector Cleen = Rs.40
                    labour = 50
                    VAT on oil @ 20% = Rs.130
                    VAT on rest of all @ 12.5% = Rs.51

                    They were recommending Motul 7100 FS oil but later their engineer came and asked them to put DTSi oil.

                    Now the Mileage reoprt :
                    The ODO of the bike was 14 when I got the tank full, today it was 467 and again I got the tank full and it took 9.43 litres to full the tank.

                    Mileage = 467-14/9.43 = 48.03

                    My driving was mostly in the city. Never rode above 4k RPM except on 5 occasions that too only for a few hundred metres and not above 8k RPM.

                    P.S. : The bike was in main and NOT in reserve even after 453kms of riding.

                      Great mileage. What is the reason to use an additive during first oil change? What additive is it? N isnt it supposed to be a free service?? Where is the question of labor charges?

                          They recommended the additive, 2 small bottles, one in fuel tank and other in engine oil chamber. There was an amount of Rs.75 which was deducted from the value of the bill and mentioned as coupon service.

                          @govind.one : I also didn't understand this, saw it mentioned in the bill when I came back home.

                            I always believed, that 200NS can give 45+ mileage, since they claimed 58 at the time of unveiling.
                            200NS has the capability of serving the dual purpose.
                            If 1 wants fun, he can rep the bike hard, and it will deliver with all the power, while if one drives at low revs, then it will provide you with wonderful mileage.

                              I have recently that Bajaj Service centers are pushing in for some 3M additive for all the bikes, which ofcourse is not required and just way making money.

                              I would advice all 200NS owners to ask for each and every cost before the bill is made and ask the SVC guys not put any thing extra.

                              Out of these costs:
                              Engine Oil = Rs.650 (What's the exact price of Dtsi Oil / per litre)?
                              Oil Filter = Rs.74 (This is fine)
                              Engine Oil Additive = Rs.98 (Just a way of making money, not required)
                              Chain Wash = Rs. 75 (Generally Charged every time, but not required at least for first servicing)
                              Fuel injector Cleen = Rs.40 (Please do go back and ask them firmly about this, there are no injectors in 200)
                              labour = 50 (labour for what?)
                              VAT on oil @ 20% = Rs.130 (Seem, 1.4 Litre of Dtsi oil is 750 bucks! Quiet costly compared to even Motul 3100SS)

                              This from my experience of 9 years of different pulsar ownership.

                                I know it doesn't have an FI, will enquire about it next time I visit them.

                                Regarding the additives I didn't had the chance to read the bottle, they were calling it the supplementary oil, the mechanic told me it coats the cam with a protective layer or something.
