I must have been doing about 60, but when i braked, the back tyre slipped and went out of line. At first I thought this is because i was wearing shoes (kind of impairs judgement as to how much you press the brakes, as i usually ride with slippers or sandals) and i went a bit too hard on the rear brake, but after a while, when i approached a turn and was doing 65 i rapidly engine braked and the same happened again. This is really scaring me as if the roads had been wet i wouldve had a nasty fall. Im going to ride slowly till the monsoon is over but ive decided that i must get the tyres changed. My question is that is this normal? The tyre going out of line on engine braking?
Also, a while back i had noticed a great discussion on which tyre to choose, with one of the members giving great advice on what to get, but this article has about 1.6k pages and i really dont want to go through all of them. Could someone tell me the page number? (I kinda remember his profile pic, he was wearing sunglasses and was from the south, maybe bangalore)
Engine Braking, did you blip the throttle just before down shifting ??

Even with Engine braking rear Tyre can go out of line because of the sudden change , try to blip the throttle every time u downshift to have a smoother transition.

I am thinking of upgrading the front tyre ...due to braking issue(or lack of it) in wet.

No, i didnt blip it. Will do that henceforth.
Have any specific one in mind for the front?

Here is an article than talks about blipping the throttle http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Braking...g_the_throttle
For front I am considering Michelin PILOT SPORTY or MRF ZAPPER FX , but still thinking . Any suggestion are welcome

          Hey Guys,
I want to change the chainset of my P200NS.
          Preferably a bigger rear sprocket(currently 39 T).
IS Duke 200's rear sprocket (43 T) a fit???(both have same front sprocket)
If not what other sprocket can i use.
          Please suggest.
          Thanks

Converted to Michelin Pilot Sporty last week. The grip certainly is very good. Zapper, is a good replacement for much lesser price.

Actually I got a sympathy and curiosity towards India since I've read the book "Bir Dunyanin Esiginde" (At the Doorstep of a World)
by great Turkish thinker Cemil Meric.

They market Bajaj as Bajaj here :-)
Here's the website: Bajaj Motorlar . Three models are being sold here: Pulsar 200NS, Boxer 150 and Discover 125 ST.

The brand Hero has entered the Turkish market in 2014 with Bajaj too: Hero Motor
But it seems Bajaj has kind of eclipsed them.

TVS brand was already in Turkey since 2005 with their flagship Apache 150. Tvs Motor Trkiye - Apache - Wego - sotlar Grup - HBI Motor
Apache 150 has been very popular here, especially among the courriers.
Currently it seems to be third most popular courrier motorcycle after Honda CBF 150 and Yamaha YBR 125.

Legal minimum wage is 850 liras whic is about 24 thousand rupees I believe.
So, daily income comes to 28 liras or 780 rupees.
But the minimum wage rule is not always respected.
Wages for informal labour may get lower.

Crappy tvs tyres, just get the tyres front tyre from the duke 200 and rear from the r15v2
Then enjoy the ride, monsoons are coming god forbid any mishap with guys on tvs tyres.

Zma rear sproket, you might have to drill holes,
And duke 200 is direct fit I guess

Wouldn't blipping the throttle mitigate the effect of engine braking?

Again, anybody done hydraulic clutch conversion on P200NS?
                  I am back!

I think we just blip it very slightly, so as the difference in RPMs is not too much and the tyre doesnt lock up, which is, as ive figured out now, what happened with me.

If not motul you can try castrols power 1 racing 10w50.. cost 750 for a litre..
Being using and happy with both performance and smootheness...
Beware of fake castrol products try to buy from authorised dealers...
Roughness of bike maybe because of faulty carburetor tuning or dirty air filter... dont trust svc people... try servicing yourself or from a trusted mechanic :-)

Dude unless you fixnup the tappets and get a good afr etc and do a through checkup changing oil wil be of no use to get rid of thr roughness.
I kept changing oil etc and still engine felt rough... shifted my petrol bunk amd problem solved
So anything can be the issue, try makin a list and crossing out one by one after checkups

Gonna make the fastest pulsar, the smoothest pulsar.

                                Parts removed for vibration damping:
                                1. Headlamp assembly, further split up into its individual parts. What I observed. One holder is cut. Superglue to the rescue!
                                2. Tank, again split up into individual parts.
                                3. Rear seat cowl + black undercowl.
                                4. Side panels. These are of very poor quality indeed. Very fragile. One pull and a holder splits clean from the panel and now its useless.

Parts to be further removed for vibration damping:
                                1. Footpeg assemblies (front and rear). The flipping mechanism of the rear footpegs need replacement.
                                2. Handlebar. Just removing and reinstalling. No fancy work there!

Materials used for vibration dampening: double sided tape, old tyre tubes, lots of glue, feviquick, superglue and maybe something more if i realise the need on the spot.

                                Other works to be done:
                                1. The bike has suffered two accidents over its life, both to the left. As a result, the bar & holder for the left tank extension is bent.
                                2. The radiator was replaced after the last accident. Job not done well. The radiator is kinda inclined at an angle to the right. The upper and lower holders for the radiator have been re-used and they need straightening too.
                                3. Clutch and throttle cable replacement. This is a piece of cake.
                                4. Air filter cleaning. Needs a compressor or a vacuum cleaner.
                                5. Chain tightening and lubing.

All these works are gonna be done at home. As a college student this is gonna help me save some money and, I'd get to explore deeper into the bike. Oh did I mention, tomorrow is the first day of my semester holidays and this is how I celebrate
