Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
cant tell exactly, that depends on how the bikes running...Originally posted by shek15 View PostOK. I'll do that tomorrow and keep you updated!
. Is this a symptom of lean mixture or rich?
Its rich if you have sluggish acceleration.. or lean if it has jumpy acceleration..[AFAIK]
But there's a lot more at play though.. Go to a trusted SVC and get it checked..

I opened mine once, th3y just dont bite after that nomatter how nicely I bleed the brakes, have to do it againOriginally posted by broken87 View PostWhoa impressive number there.. Did you get to ride it ?
No brother couldn't
but god to here ns can hit that figure without major issues.
Wow Nice bro. I wish I also had enough brains and courage to do stuff like this myself..
Just curious, are you confident enough to open up and service the brake calipers yourself ?
If the bike jerks after that then maybe its running to lean, also wil overheat, check your plug and oost oics we can read it for youOriginally posted by shek15 View PostMy bike has run 110kms. No use dude, How much ever I rev it feels like bike is running out of breath(After 5k). I suspect the carb is tuned to rich.
Also, change your fuel hunk for a change and it can also happen because of adultrated fuel or water in tank (note pulsar tank capsbare notorious for popin up leaks and tank getting water in it.
Incorrect afr, tappet setting, chain slackness! And even something small as a loose plug cap or cloggged air filter can cause that.

I'll check the spark plug and post a pic tomorrow. Btw is this a serious problem for a brand new bike(2 days old), I'm getting worried.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I notice all new 200ns runs too lean petrol.. I asked bajaj ASS about this .. They said .. We are trying to reduce performance because 90% of owner rip her form the first day. Then i silently walk away after listening his reply.
Hahaha lol

You shouldn't be trying to take her to 7k rpm this early either or try ripping her, complete your run in first
Check oil level
Stupid svcs have noticed dont check oil during pdi:banghead:

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Ok bro, Lets hope nothing is serious. In r15 thread I read that during run-in once in a while the bike must be taken to 7.5k(For the engine to get used high RPMs). I'll do check the oil levelOriginally posted by Divyanshp150 View PostI dont think its something serious,

and for rich mixture the brass screw must be turned anti-clockwise, isn't it?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
No need to worry, these things can happen.. and like @Divyanshp150 said.. Try changing your petrol bunk, and all the other stuff..:POriginally posted by shek15 View PostThanks for the help guys!

And, yes.. anti-clockwise for richer mix..Last edited by razr; 06-04-2014, 11:33 PM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
shek15 first 500km run-in is very important.. Then give your bike short burst to 80kmph(only few seconds) till 2000km. Actaully first 500km is for engine settlement after then your bike learn your way of driving.. This short burst is gives out maximum performance.
I have done same thing with mine classic350.

Okay. Didn't know that, I'll be more careful from now. Thanks for the inputOriginally posted by royal racer View Post@shek15 first 500km run-in is very important.. different bikes have different rpm limits for run in brother, cbr150 is ok to 6000 to 8000rpm
Relax, get oil changed at 500km and at 1500 km then post results, also change petrol bunk, clean spark plugs and replwce engine oil filter, tune afr as well. Should solve everything,
Try reading mwnual for run in
All the best.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Yeah but also follow run-in after 500km.. Dont just do short burst .. LolOriginally posted by shek15 View PostOkay. Didn't know that, I'll be more careful from now. Thanks for the input
.
There is another old method ..
Do proper run-in as per manual till 2000km. Then Make a bike trip and try to shift each and every gear at 6k rpm..(60% of redline). And try to curise at 7k rpm(70% of redline)
This will gives nice way to break-in the engine.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Ok shek15
Summary of all thats above : Dont rev your engine at least till first service [ imp: as all the metal parts inside has to smoothen out, so there'll be a lot of metal filings in the oil and filter- which is why they change it] Then after first service try going on small highway runs [ at or below 5k rpm- keep changing the revs steadily ] This will help the engine set more easily and will give you a steady FE [ personal experience- and depends on how smooth you run it]
And then after 2k kms, follow royal racer's suggestion above..
But make sure you keep servicing as per the manual [bajaj crap oil is fine for the run in] And change oil to motul 5100 at 5k kms and if you re into touring by the next service [ie: 10000km] try motul 7100, its the best, the bike becomes smoother as you travel more.. otherwise stick to 5100 for normal city and occational highway.. [ coz since you wont be doing long journeys, the 7100 will act just like the 5100 [ which is cheaper]
search the thread on more about all this.. it has been thoroughly discussed..
