It might. If 200ss is a success it will be seen as a replacement for the now old 220. But then again, since 220 still sells in decent numbers they might keep both. Only time will tell.

nope the pulsar 220 and pulsar 200 ss cannot be sold side by side reason

      1. pulsar 200ns and 200 ss both engine are almost same so if you want bike on bases of engine you will go with pulsar 200ns because of pulsar 200ns is cheaper than 200ss (as assumed buy bikes specialist that 200 ss would be around 105000 ex showroom price)

if they want fairing they world go for pulsar 220 (because 220 is cheaper even from 200ns) so pulsar 200 ss will still be selling but it would fail in market

but if pulsar 220 is removed then you have a clear option naked sport or super sport and the selling numbers of pulsar 200 ss will increase

Its those guys in the showroom who convince everyone that 220 is better than 200ns.
when i went to book my bike with my dad, the reasons they gave me were out of this world.
        1. one was that 220 is cheaper but still has exhaust. 200ns is expensive and has very small exhaust.
        2. 200ns has three spark plugs and hence it will burn more fuel.
        3. 220 has metal body and ns has fibre, so 220 is very strong.
        4. 220 being cheaper has two rear suspension and ns only has one...

wtf i was shocked to hear this

my dad got convinced by him and was forcing me to book 220 and when i told him that salesperson is talking all s#*t, he said he knows more than you...

still i somehow managed to book 200ns and i dont regret at alll...

            Nice decision

This happen to me also i don't know that why they behave like 200 ns is of some other brand like hero brand instead of bajaj and 220 is their only child

and this discrimination is so much that till now almost after 2 years of launch of pulsar 200ns. The pulsar 200 ns are in less amount on roads and people donot know about pulsar 200ns in fact when i showed bike to my friends some of my friends said that when did bajaj launched this bike

and second almost whenever i stood at red signal people ask me "where is the silencer" i mean wtf

bajaj should sport 200ns alot more than 220 but sad to clear there old 150, 180, 220 stock they did this

pulsar 200 ns is a true bike which is neglected by bajaj dealers but hugely accepted by it riders

it is bad that dealer sports pulsar 220 instead of pulsar 200ns but it is profitable for all the rides of pulsar 200ns reason

            1. because pulsar 220 is sold in huge amount that we can see it almost everywhere so people are use to see 220 so 220 owners have to modify the pulsar 220 to make people admire it but pulsar 200ns is seen once in a while so every one sees it and admires it

            2. at any time we with pulsar 200ns can beat pulsar 220

Out here in my place Tinsukia in Assam, what you want is what you get in Bajaj. You want a 220 you get it. You want a NS you get it. People out here in this SVC are good. They don't ask you much questions. Rather reply to what you ask. I brought a 220 from the same dealer 4 years back . And 4 months back got a NS from the same dealer. Out here in my place there are hardly 10 to 12 NS on the Road.

you are right but at some places they try to convince people to buy other model.i am not saying that people are not good. i am saying that they are very good. when i talk to the mechanic who assembled the bike and get the bike first ready for me i am amazed to see that he has a very great knowledge of bike almost every thing i asked from him which i gathered from internet is correct so i please to know that this person has ready the bike for me he has tested it many times and give it ok to be sold as they don't let the mechanic ride the bike untill sold when i first went to them after i got the bike the mechanic ride the bike and said me that "iss ke pickup bahut jaada hai " and also said that all parts are working correctly so they are nice people.

At my day of purchase the showroom person actually left it up to me to decide between the two.. and infact he hated the Pulsar 220, said 200NS is way better. Said that the first time 200NS was brought inside their showroom, their staff just jumped over the bike in huge excitement and curiousity.

I have to say though, the weirdest thing today about the Pulsar 200NS as a motorcycle is actually it's market resale value. An equally old used up 220F will cost more than the NS in 2nd hand Two Wheeler market. It's funny, people have no idea about the extremely reliable 200cc motor powering this bike, which is the first and foremost thing you should check in a 2nd hand bike..

And due to aforementioned features and updates, the DEALER MARGIN on 220 is more than on NS.and hence the advice.

Haha! That's the logic I don't understand. Almost all the above features apply for the Ns also...still people prefer the 220. So you can never predict market response

PS: By saying pity you, you mean the person who buys the 220 right? Because I don't have a bike yet But fixed on buying the 200NS..no stupid salesman can change my decision.

True..let's see how Bajaj handles the situation. Have you seen the new dual tone colors for the 220?? They are bad!! I wonder how they will accomplish "stock clearance" with that. Haven't seen a single dual tone 220 yet! But the dual tone NS despite being bad seems to have increased sales...I see a lot more 2014 models of the bike.

I got an 220 (used one ) after test riding a 200ns at least for 100km as it belonged to my friend .

While NS offered performance 220 had the charm to impress me .
220 is good in straight line cruising and in boring 4or6 lane highway 220 kept me happy .

But I couldn't justify getting a new one so got an used one and waiting for the 400 ever since .

220 is like an SUV gives macho feel 200NS is more like a sports car .
If there was an SS version I would have considered it as it would be better in the highway.

What NS has is good handling ,power ,smoothness and great style .
What 220 had was rawness ,exhaust note ,road presence and more fun in straight line .
So it depends on the need of the person and type of the rider he is.

The dual tone colour of 220, 180,150 are bad but 200 ns they are not bad they look quiet cool that is one of the reason of ns sales increase by so much from before

People who buys are not colour blind so if they are liking its dual tone that is why they buying and if colour is one of the reason for increase in sales of 200 ns as says buy experts then the dual tone are great

2 mistakes by bajaj I feel
                              - discontinued the yellow 200ns
                              - no white (complete) 200ns
Does the 200ns have clear coated stickers? If not then pulling them out and putting your own should be quite easy
Imagine somone putting the middle stripe of thr white apache 160(black stripe, textured) on a 200ns (yellow).....i believe it would be sweet ! And its 500 odd rs and pulls off cleanly!

Every company play these kind of tricks called stickerbaji, just look at yamaha they are replacing stickers on there fz series aftere every 3 or 4 months, and hence kept the sales chart ticking and increasing there cash reserve. Most of the time stickers are clear coated.
