Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Aluminum rusting? I'm confused, aluminum oxidizes but it does not eat the metal like in case of iron, in fact, the oxidized layer helps to protect the metal.Originally posted by levintt View PostJust noticed today that my rear break aluminium pedal was getting lots of rust patches, sad about itI am back!

Your definitely right bro but i was talking in general. No ones going to go 60&80 on 1st gear rightOriginally posted by nadz11.ns View PostIts not about the speed, but RPM's. Keep check on the rpms and keep them under the recommended range.

Amazing pics too....45kmpl is very impressive for a 200cc performance bike at approx 100kmph...
Yes, I too was suprised with the mileage. And talking about mileage, today I filled up with Rs. 100 petrol i.e. 1.40 litres after hitting reserve, and that petrol lasted for 54 amazing kilometres, before hitting reserve again.
But this was achieved after, not exceeding 60 kmph speeds and no sudden acceleration. But missed out the fun.

Apart from the roads, be prepared for the scorching heat. Take loads of fluid and glucose.Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostOn other note, heading to koeladeo bird sanctuary from Delhi again, let's see what roads offer me...

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
U mean your mixture was rich because turning the air screw anticlockwise allows more air and not fuelOriginally posted by shek15 View PostThanks for replying
. The AFR was actually lean. As royal racer had mentioned, the SVC guys had tuned to a very lean mixture to prevent ripping and to obtain good mileage figures. So 2 turns anti clockwise in the AFR screw had sorted it out, and bike is smooth as ever.
So new buyers, be aware of this idea used by people at bajaj!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
[QUOTE=shek15;1069337]Oh good idea, Didn't think of that. Btw its 5 and a half turn from full closed(From the leanest side)
Its not always the same for all bikes
It depends on engine condition, how clean ur pilot air and fuel passages are and condition of ignition system also depends if your using a different octane fuel

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I think youll are a little confused guysOriginally posted by nadz11.ns View PostThis is why I said its upto ones choice. I would not risk the engine by using engine braking on regular basis. Can be helpful in some instances like i had earlier mentioned, but shouldn't be used in normal condition.
Isn't it obvious. Engine braking increases the wear rate, but this is needed during run-in. Hence the suggestion of using engine braking.
Well don't want to drag this topic more. Has been beaten to death in many threads. So thought of sharing what 'I' think is good.
Peace out.
Engine braking may put a bit of load on your chain if you accelerate and decelerate with quickly
But it doesnot damage your engine because when you close the throttle, there is not much air and fuel going into your engine only the amount that is supplied at idle and slightly more due to vaccum so there is no load on your engine but if your at high speed and you gear down to quickly then your engine may redline or even if it doesnt redline the rpm will go up but as long as you gear down only one gear at a time and wait till the rpm drops its not a problem
If you want better engine braking, kill the engine and open the throttle full

Aren't we opening fuel lines here & wasting valuable petrol/gasoline?Originally posted by denverrodricks View Post...

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Yes you should not let the rpm touch the red line while using engine brake so it has to be one at a time and you're good.So killing the engine and opening throttle is it really necessary? While panic braking i think it'll take some extra second in a situation when every second counts.I ain't got XP on that but for me with the front and rear brake with a combination of engine brake has always been flawless while panic braking.Originally posted by denverrodricks View PostI think youll are a little confused guysEngine braking may put a bit of load on your chain if you accelerate and decelerate with quicklyBut it doesnot damage your engine because when you close the throttle, there is not much air and fuel going into your engine only the amount that is supplied at idle and slightly more due to vaccum so there is no load on your engine but if your at high speed and you gear down to quickly then your engine may redline or even if it doesnt redline the rpm will go up but as long as you gear down only one gear at a time and wait till the rpm drops its not a problemIf you want better engine braking, kill the engine and open the throttle fullSent from my GT-S7562 using xBhp Connect mobile appPut The Pedal To The Metal

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hey guys i have a little query, yesterday had a top speed run alongwith Duke 200.
Initially Duke has better acceleration but I was able to pass it at around 135-140 kmph and we checked it 4 times and everytime I was able to pass it. So does our NS has higher top speed?
And it was on almost 0 traffic road.
