Guys, what is it about my 200NS' brake pads...... they're just not wearing out man.. nearing 23k on ODO... unchanged and still got much life left. :O

And weird handling does not mean bad handling. I tried to explain it in my previous post. The handling is not weird, handling is different and since you dont have any previous experience of riding a radial tyre, it will FEEL weird to you. And it will be ok once u get used to it.

ABS....what it has to do here....maybe u wrote it by mistake.

Zig zag through traffic...cutting like a ghost rider....hmmmn....when i said this tyre makes the bike more eager to lean ...it automatically means the handling becomes sharper than before. BUT it is so only for those who know how to lean in a correct way.

If you want wet grip, there is no other tyre in indian market, that even comes near to it, forget beating it in wet performance.

lol what, this is such horse....
"those who know how to lean the correct way" ? I don't even know if I should fire back. but whatever. So you're following keith code right? Thought you were more into touring than cornering stuff.. mind sharing an upclose pic of your rear tyre, curious to see how low you lean that 140/70.
Difference between 100/80 and 110/70 would definitely matter as it's the front tyre we're talking about here. It may feel more eager to lean, but it's an awkward handling package you get with this setup on 200NS, due NS' rims, riding posture, weight distribution... in the end it is different and degraded handling compared to how to light and flickable stock sizes feel like. But whatever man, be happy with your setup. Doesn't change the facts.

Does Buttersmooth upshits and messy downshifts indicates that clutch is loose ,?
Bcuz clutch is not that tight as bike came and now downshifts are messy .

Chill man...it was not directed at you...i was talking in general, since original querry was raised by somebody else.

As far as keith code is concerned, yes i always try to learn from it. I keep a copy in my mobile and go throught it whenever i get free time..or i am in that mood.

My rear tyre is not 140 section, it is 130.

Yes i love touring but i also love cornering....but i am not one of those types who get their pics clicked taking corners. I mostly travel solo.

Since you consider it as a fact that it degrades the handling, and quite sure about it, i will not force my opinion on you. To each his own. I do not agree to it.

Let us agree to disagree.

After piling up some kms on odo.. what I like in P200NS.. super sweet & extremely predictable gear box and what I love is engine above 7k rpm, simply bliss. What I don't like & hate.. bengaluru's traffic that doesn't allow above 7k rpm possibility everyday

At the end of the day, it's the handling and braking that matters. It depends on the surface area of the tyre touching the ground, the rubber compound, the grooves and tread life, and the technique.
Let's say the technique is the same. The rubber is undoubtedly better in the Michelin. Grooves are better in Michelin compared to most other tyres. The only factor remaining is the surface area.

If the narrower profile means flickability, then the broader would mean better grip. But I think with a slightly higher tyre pressure, that factor would be negated because the surface area will be lesser. Also, since the rim size is the same, I think fitting a 110 in there would curve it more, as Prince has already said, and that can again reduce the surface area. I think keeping the two bikes side by side would give us a better idea of which tyre touches the ground the right amount, and how much different it looks from the stock size.

Or give two bikes to a total novice on the NS. Let him tell you about the handling. People who ride the stock size are used to it, people who have upsized have gotten used to it as well. So someone who's not used to the NS will be able to identify the difference better.

And Prince, one more question. How's the wear on the Michelins? And what do you think might be the average life?

Life of Michelin Pilot Street Radial will be slightly less than Eurogrip or other tyres.

I just noticed some black greasy liquid on the engine head near the right side spark plug. What might be the issue?

Engine oil is leaking from the Head Seal.

Get the seal fixed/replaced from the service center.

a little update: Shot an email to Bajaj Customer care regarding the unavailability of the tool in the tool kit to fix the RVM. Got a call from them yesterday, saying that they have forwarded my complaint to the product team and that they shall be including the appropriate tool in the kit it in the future.

Lets see if it truly happens. And if it does, don't forget to say thanks to me

I think 3K is a little expensive for the visor but it should be worth the investment if it helps reduce fatigue by keeping away wind blast / bugs. I picked up the R15 visor a few months earlier to try fixing it on the NS as instructed in the DIY section but due to lack of enthusiastic (read helpful) mechanics to help fix it and lots of laziness from my side the visor is still in my cupboard.

It's been more than a week that I've heard from the Hindustan Motorcycles guys. Had asked for their account details and had a couple of questions about the visors. Posted on their facebook website highlighting the lack of response and they replied that they were caught up with some work and so couldn't respond but I should be hearing from them soon...

deep007 you can check out the pics for suggestions.

This will definitely make NS a complete package for touring.

Anyone has any suggestions on a better leg guard for the NS??

Although the NS does have a decent set of leg guards, fixing a stronger one would make the bike look more muscular and at the same time also allow for a little more real estate to attach fog lamps and other stuff to it. Btw, mine broke off from the bolt on a ride through a very rough patch. Got it fixed at the service centre but can't help but feel the bike needs a beefier and sturdier set.

Be assure of leg guard's protection capability .
1. I slipped at 80km/hr and went straight down to right hand side .
Damage to bike - only bent leg guard and scratch on clutch lever .
NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH ON BIKE .
2 BIKe went down to left hand side ,leg guard bent ,NO SCRATCH,
let me pinpoint what saves Nike in case of fall (or takes max impact thereby saving other parts ) .
**assuming flat or approx flat surface .
1. Leg guard.
2. Handle bar weight
3. Levers .
4 foot rest end (even if they're closed ) ,
Imho, foot rest end and leg guard takes max beating .

But yes ,bolts broke off even without a impact ,happened with me twice and in fact ,I went down with a without nut attached leg guardc(it was swinging ) ,still by God's grace ,somehow leg guard bottom end managed to be in contact with its original position, thereby transferring shock to chasis, not any plastic part.

I thought i am the only one who is facing leg guard problem. My bikes leg guard breaks off on its own. Right side one from upper bolt. I have replaced two leg guards by now. Both broke off automatically on its own from near the upper bolt.

Weird.
