As for the run-in, please be kind to her, be polite and dont rip at any time.. Atleast till 1500kms. For de 1st 1000kms, try her <50kms (ie, not >3.5k~4K rpms), then for the next 1000kms, keep it <5k rpms. With a sane speed, this bike will please you with a wonderful mileage figures of 45kmpl and above. Enjoy..drive with suits always....>!!
    Cost me 1,02,500 on road.
yep, I'm and I'll be polite towards her
    Thanks for the advise though!

Guys, Last week my first service was over.
Before service bike was butter smooth.
Now after engine oil change, engine is very rough. when rpm is 4000 or little more than that engine is very harsh. engine vibration is very clearly felt in handlebar and even seats.
      Any idea?

Hi guys, if this is common can you please help us in terms of precautions?
I'll be going for first service very soon (5-6 days maybe) so quite worried if I'll be facing the same issues :/

The engine oil provided by Bajaj for NS 200 is crappy in my opinion.. i guess that is the only thing i dont like about their servicing..
I go around this by sweet talking them into either not changing the engine oil at all OR doing a small top up of engine oil..

I ensure they do not mark this on my service booklet and always tick the in warranty checkbox too..

PS -- although bajaj service folks say its motul who provides that engine oil i find it hard to believe..
i always change my engine oil after every service with Motul Semi synthetic and the bike is as happy as a kid with ice cream.. :P

Now momentum required to set the ignition cycle in motion in 2nd gear is less compared to 1st gear .. 3 and so on will be to tall to start though !
2nd is ideal but no issues in starting the 1st .. Only you would have to push more !

they never say its motul my friend.
Its bajaj dtsi engine oil 10000 20w50

and engine oil should not be topped up.
It should be changed because new engine will shed so much metal particles during first 2000 kms. so only its advised to change oil in first 2 services.

I've heard the same from few others about Bajaj oil, but changing to Motul very early is not advisable, also it voids warranty unless the svc guys are friendly enough.Mineral oil if the best for running-in. I checked with two of the SVCs, they were strict about oil change..

I even see some guys after changing to Motul oil, start to get vibes..... It looks like a variable factor. In mine and a friend of mine, we never had any trouble post 1st service, infact the bike became so smooth around 800+km and even better beyond 1500KMs which looked the sign of end of my Bike's run-in. But I insisted them to change oil filter as well, which is not in the service list. Dont jump for Motul oil now. Wait for atleast 5k Kms\2nd service. If you can afford, change oil post 2K KMs

BTW Bajaj oil s from HP if Im not wrong

Yes, I too feel that one should change engine oil @5000KMs instead of Bajaj recommendations to top-up

Bajaj Service Centre for 200 ns in vizag also services dukes. All the dukes are filled with motul, so i asked them to change to motul in my second service for my ns and they agreed and changed the same without any void in warranty.

Guys my 2 months New 200ns is giving me nly 25kmpl mileage ..completed 2500km on odo.
Have got it tuned multiple times from infant motors and khivraj banaswadi, still facing the issue..engine rpm is ideal most of the times at 1.5k when hot but sometimes it shoots up to 3k .

Infant motors suggested carb needs to be changed, while khivraj said cleaning would do it.

                      Please help guys..

I switched to Motul 7100 at 4800 on ODO. No issues so far(current Odo reading is 9600). Bajaj oil is not bad, just that it loses its viscosity at high temperature, bike becomes harsh after that. Motul retains its lubricating properties even when engine is extremely hot. Motul 7100 delivers lil better mileage too. Yes the smoothness might go down a bit, but man the engine revs better with motul.

                        ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Anyone knows the recommended oil change interval for Motul 7100 on 200ns ?

If you're frequent Tourer you can use upto 4000K, but with combo city and highway 4500K.

I dont know how you guys are calculating mileage.
But it shouldn't give 25 kmpl and all.
Atleast 35km we should extract from a litre.
by the way try changing/ cleaning your carb as they suggest and never try to calculate mileage again as long as you get smoothness enjoy power of the engine.
                                enjoy the speed it gives.
