I know this was shared earlier however the thread has grown up so much that its very difficult to find. I am reaching my 2000KM mark on my 200NS. I remeber readering in this thread about 2nd servicing at 2000KM. However when I checked my service manual I found that it says 6 months or 4500KM whichever earlier. Can someone comment, if I need to do my 2nd servicing at 2000KM?

2000KM is nothing. Simply put.. you have to get your 2nd service done within 120 Days since the day of ur purchase.. but if you happen to reach 4500-5000KM on the ODO earlier in ur 120 days period, then also you must go and get your 2nd service done. Idk what happens if you don't. (correct me if im wrong here anyone)
Though I wonder if the warranty is really void if the user doesn't get his bike/car serviced as per manual says.. because my father for his i10 car never cared about the manual instructions. He got it serviced after longer invervals when he thought the car needed it and yet I never saw Hyundai servicemen create any problems. It's like if our car's next service was due at 20k-21k KM.. he'd get it serviced at 25k and yet no problems from svc

I think it will depend upon SVC to SVC. What is being followed at one SVC might not be the case with the other. Better check with the SVC itself and they will confirm. In my case my bike runs only 500km every month which means the service period arrives once a year (as per the manual) but i still went ahead and got the service done every three months and availed the (not so) free services. So here to if you feel comfortable with doing the service and can afford it then go ahead afterall you just giving your new engine fresh blood (engine oil) you can however opt out of other expenses like chain cleaning and lubing which here in Delhi at the Okhala SVC is charged at an exhorbitant rate of Rs.100 for each and the work they do is far from good.A question: what is the warranty period for Pulsar 200NS. Is it 24 or 12 months? I read 24 months somewhere on the owners manual.

Hey guys I am following this thread from the day one, mostly people have posted about one issue which is variation.

Have any one tried change of fuel????

I did to BP’s speed which worked for my bike after 4/5 fillips bike become soother and throttle response has improved, and tried speed97 once and tell you all it works like rocket fuel guys.

ODO reading till date 10700 KM and have not faced any issue other then VIBE which has settled down now

^ well, if you don't, officially, legally your bike's warranty is void.regarding your Hyundai I10, it may be because of your father's rapo with that particular service center.i have a similar rapo with BAL ASC, and i put Motul happily in my P200 NS, and warranty is intact, as ASC signed and stamped as "used Bajaj DTS-i Genuine Oil".. so it all depends on relations also.

I gave my bike for 2nd servicing Saturday with 2000km on ODO. When I went there I asked him about the same thing which was mentioned in the manual. He said by year end all the 3 free servicing has to be completed. So after first service you can wait up to 4 months and go for second service and after 4 months again he asked me to bring for 3rd service.

                  Hi Guys,

My bikes front brake loses its efficiency and bite even in slight rains....almost like to its 1/10th .....anybody else facing this issue? Noticed this in last monsoon also when the bike was new, and now too..... had got new brake pads installed around 500 kms back......
what could be the issue here?

Faffy: Are you sure about your experience? Brakes would generally become weak when in contact with good amount of water but not in slight rains. Once it's wet, you would feel less bite from the disc but eventually after couple of kms of ride, the disc becomes quite HOT. Moisture will evaporate after some time & you can feel the increase in bite.

If I have to ride out just after washing the bike then for couple of kms (1-2) I would ride slow with minor pressure on both brakes so as to heat up the discs quickly & get back the required bite.

Yes i am pretty sure coz this is my second monsoon with this bike.... even in slight rains when the brakes get wet it becomes inefficient , and even after riding for around 13-15 kms it remains the same and no improvement in bite. Also one more thing i have noticed with my front brake is there comes a lot of play in front brake lever after some usage...like i got my bike serviced 2 weeks back and told them this rain-brake issue and also told them to tighten the lever, for one week it was pure bliss, just a small press of brake lever and used to get awesome front brake bite(also it dint rain in the first week of servicing), but now in second week again there is a play in the brake lever, brake gets applied when the lever is pulled to almost half position....

I haven't got enough opportunity to ride in rain and test the brakes in wet conditions "thoroughly" (it's just not raining that well here!) ... but I will share my experience when I do.
From my most recent short ride in rain I found the rear brake either wouldn't provide much feedback but simply lock up rear wheel when pressed hard. So basically I have to apply both brakes cautiously. Pressing front brakes alone in wet conditions is like asking for trouble isn't it..
Guys have another question, Hitting reserve and then riding on reserve oil again and again damages your fuel pump ? I read so somewhere... running on fumes is bad for the engine too right. So basically keep it filled up all the time ?

That's for FI vehicles. Our bike has no fuel pump. The petrol simply flows through a pipe to the carburettor. So basically you can run the bike until you're left with 500 ml of unusable petrol in your tank.

One doubt to all, does the tuning go all wanky and unstable after de-carbonising? My idle isn't steady after that and cold starts are a pain.
