I'm expected to get her back in 24 hrs. They did mention in the job card that a unique sewing machine-like sound becomes audible after ~6 kms of riding. So it's not just the tappets but the entire engine that will be looked into.
My bike is 7 months old an just over 4000 kms. Even I hear a sewing machine kind of sound. And then the engine kind of rises and falls when I ride at around 4000 rpm in 2nd gear or 3rd gear. I had mentioned this before. Some says its a carb issue.

NS' are hard to come across in Ahmedabad-G'nagar.
Yes, that quite true, very few NS on road in ahmedabad. Where do you get your bike serviced? Have you tried the Probiking center at C.G.Road?

I ve managed to change the slave plugs with NGK's Gpower plugs.
But, did any one here manage to change their Master Spark with any NGK Plugs fitting the description?

Personally there is no difference whatsoever with NGKs but you get good replacement interval compared to stock.

Yes it is good, but the improvements are subtle as opposed to readily evident.

Ear plugs are to reduce the noise induced by wind when wearing a helmet, not only that but a wide area of applications where noise levels are high.

                Cheers!

i thought of something like a wired inset-earphone which might have been fixed inside the helmet

The stock spark plug is Champion P-RG6HCC and the '6' in the code is the heat range as far as I can guess. And after research (I mean googling ), I found that NGK iridium IX is the perfect replacement plug for Bajaj bikes. Costs 550 bucks, and it's my next upgrade.

Try and get the bike serviced only from PBK as they have loads of better equipment to handle and iron out issues. They also have the one of the most heavily trained mechs on KTMs, Ninjas and NS.
Hey, thanks for the information, Utsav. I will get my bike's first free servicing at the Kothrud PBK SVC only.

I get my bike serviced @ HET Bajaj , Shivranjini as I bought it from there only & they pay attention to my requirements & I'm quite happy with their servicing.
I haven't tried the PBK yet though. I'm not sure whether they'll do it or not. But anyways I'm getting good service at Het so no point to go to the PBK as of now.

Hi to all NS 200 owners !!!

                                [IMG][/IMG]

Quick Intro : Hi , my name is Uday , my id is ‘rpmboy’ . Well , I liked the new breed of Pulsar which was launched in India and oh boy what a bike it is indeed . I was quite positive about the fact that this bike is the new generation of a bike that has ruled our shored for more than a decade !! From the spy shots to the full model launch at this very website right from the beginning I was waiting for this bike to arrive and finally I present myself to you as I enter into a next decade of Pulsars . I am a commuter , tourer and a lazy Monday bugger , I hate going to office on Monday’s !!!

                                [IMG][/IMG]

Beginning of next Pulsating decade :
Before , this new NS 200 , I already have Pulsar DTSi 150 UG1 in black from way back in 2004 , so the love affair with that bike is almost for like 8+ years and it was with both ups & downs . The old model had took me to places where I felt that there was an power issue and that made me to think that I should find an good upgrade to make the old one more respectable . I had some limits like practicality , touring capabilities which made me away from R15 which I believe is a awsome tool when it comes to overall package . As I am entering in a stage in my working career where Car is another name to must have things , making a call for a Bike was tough. I had full support from family especially father to go for an pre-owned car , you know to practice on , and then move on to a brand new car . So , with that thing in mind I started to make research on pre-owned cars and came across an Optra which was almost 90 grand but it was sitting idle for 6 months and it was looking like an tough bet to take . In new car section I liked small cars like BEAT , K10 , iON. But I was not able to come to an feasible point where mind could take a decision on cars . So , back to bikes and what else can be the choice than other than Bajaj . When you buy an Bajaj , always back in the mind you have to remember that it is a Bajaj , related to that comes to service , quality , parts , service intervals , support and other endless kind of sorts . There is no end to it when you want to hate or love an person , thing or whatever . Its like either you like it or you hate it !!! With regular visit to the mechanics one can have the best from Bajaj . I was already clocking over 80000kms on my old bike as a testimony that If you care for something , defiantly it will operate well.

So, NS 200 in Blue was the best choice to make that this bike can go places at different paces and it will be almost easy to maintain this bike as it was an Bajaj and has a good network of supplies . I took the call on Blue color as I already had the black for quite few years , yellow was a color of Police bike in Delhi , Red , I don’t like it . Well the final decision of settling for Blue was quite good . The color was quite liked by my friends and family members .

So, 1 week before the final date of purchase , One morning , I called Dad and said as mentioned below
Me : “ I am going to buy a new bike “ . I don’t find Car feasible at this point of time .
                                Dad : Bike ? Ok . Which one ?
Me: Its latest from Bajaj , 200NS , good , powerful , good response !!!
                                Dad: Cost ?
Me: 95K but it is worth and I promise this will be the last bike in my bachelorhood & will use it for quite long time .
Dad: what will happen to old one ? how much will u get for that?
Me:It was my 1st bike , no point selling , will keep it took . Will send that back home via train . (As I live 1600 kms away from my home town )
Dad : Ok , good decision , but Car would have been better !! Anyways….

Post this conversation the wait was finally over and it was the time to make the news flash in FB friends . Booked the bike on 23rd April , and took delivery on 26th April Friday ,I made this day especial by taking a day off from office . What a better way to relax and purchase a bike which is quite an upgrade from my old one . Nowadays , with technology and so much information over the internet , sales is quite easy . I was quite informed about the bike when I walk into the sales dept at Krishna Bajaj Gurgaon with required documentation . The sales person need not need to convince me for anything as I was going to purchase the most pricey model (KTM dept , is separate) and that too with all intension to make that in full payment .

That's my Dad , an Bajaj supporter himself ,without his support P150 DTSi & now NS200 would not have been possible !!

I received the bike with just 7kms on odo , which is good enough and with no possible issues . PDI done and at around 3:30pm on 26th April , Friday , I heard the roar of my bike for the first time . I asked the only trained mechanic of the Service Centre which happens to be at the basement of the same complex , to ride the bike and take a test run . He was quite hesistant to ride as he was expecting me to do the honours of riding the bike . But , I requested him to take the ride and entrusted him with full confidence that his inputs will be taken by me .

                                [IMG][/IMG]
After quick this-that all things were set and we were off to mandir to wish for good luck . When it comes to fasting , I am quite choosy bu this time it was special . As I had to go to Mandir , I was on water only and feeling was good . A feeling of some change in my life , a feeling of positive future ahead , a feeling of mixed emotions .....
By 5pm I was back in my room along with my Dad as NCR(Gurgaon) gets hotter outdoors .

Present update : Completed 600+ kms in 4 days and today ie.30th April did the 1st service to my bike .That's the trained mechanic working on the only NS to be serviced for the day , it was quite an spotlight to be in . BGOil 20W50 changed , Oil Filter changed , Chain Lube & clean , costs Rs.778 with taxes,

Good bike , a new breed of Pulsar , I should add !! Will keep posting & sharing with all you buddies !!!
