  • Re: Pulsar 200 NS

Guys 200NS clutch and accelerator cables should be lubed or they are Teflon jacket type cables which should not be lubed?
If yes what lube to use?
I can't see anything like that cables should be lubed in the manual

If anyone can please tell me what properly trained service guys do to your 200NS other than oil/filter change, plugs, chain adjustments like normal stuff which they do to any other bike?

Well i dont think any svc even bothers cleaning the CF at every oil change

yes it does have the oil filter but i dont know the mechanism of oil filtering...where is it filtered first?
the replaceable oil filter or CF...and does clogging up of CF cause any harm?

i know anything going bad will be indicated by the bike in some way or the other and a rider knows when his bike has problems..if no problem just carry out routine maintenance...but just ws curious about the Centrifugal Filter

@utsavchs - i too am interested to know how come the BAL engineers figure out about the running in, oil change interval, grade of oil used and brand. i do understand that oil change interval and grade can be madeout from the stampings on the service book but if you have any other info related to the engineering stuff or something that you came to know from the engineers please do share.hope you soon get your bike fixed and running.

Anyone who runs on motul 7100 here? How much did u have to pay for it? Did you buy 2 bottles or 1.2 L? Planning to change to 7100 from PBK showroom..
Riding is not about destinations, it's about journeys.

Usually you can get two cans, use 1.2L from the two cans and stack the other one for next usage, so that way you can purchase one 1L can at your next purchase and top up the 200 ML using the remaining one, everyone do that and usually the remaining can lasts three to four oil changes. Costs 650~ bucks. But you can get it a little cheaper with distributors.

Got my ride two NGK iridium IX spark plugs as the slave ones. Yet to find the master plug too. So what is it like? It's just like any other plug you ride on. Not a phenomenal change in pick-up but yes, throttle response has improved and the bike starts quicker. I'm guessing cold starts will become easier too (not that I had problems anyway). According to NGK and reviews I found on the internet, these plugs help improve FE and last nearly 10k kms without the 0.6 mm gap width varying (the main reasons why I bought it). Costs 550 bucks each, and might seem expensive compared to the stock plug which costs 90 bucks, but I think it's worth it for me.
Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

No big differences whatsoever, but good cold start improvement and as I've said lasts longer than stock ones. But the differences are really hard to notice.

i bashed against a divider and my break pedal has risen by some height.. Now if i keep my right foot parallel to ground, the pedal is pressed and break light lits up... how much should be the cost to correct it.. Also, since i would have to go to svc, i ll like to get my gears checked.. Very tough to change gears.. literally i have to kick very hard on that gear pedal..

About the gears,I would probably let the svc personnel check it out. The brake issue, however, won't be much of a problem if the brakes themselves don't start feathering the rotors; only the rear lights glow. That is actually preferable sometimes because it helps draw the attention of other riders/drivers behind you and thus, increases your visibility. Particularly helpful during the rains or foggy weather. You could also try learning to ride with your right foot underneath the brake pedal and only raising it when you need to apply the rear brakes. It doesn't affect reaction time as much as you'd think once you get the hang of it. Since during my bike's PDI,I had insisted on lowering the pedal a few mm,but the mechanics were unable to do so and they demonstrated exactly why it wouldn't budge. It's no big deal. But if the brakes are applied everytime you rest your foot on it,then you need to get it re-adjusted.

your bike may be an exceptional !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

please take a test ride before purchase
It is only comfortable on BM&AC roads; means machined tarred roads.
but it is controllable in potholes very well

I am an owner of R15; in fact, my younger brother.
You will love the power of NS comparing with R15
Low end torque is very low as compared to R15 (or even with any commuter bike)
You have to struggle with gear shifts for a short-while until you are used to it
you will get more than 5KM per liter fuel economy from NS

                      In brief,
Its a total Value For Money Bike
lol, what's wrong with you man. I only said exaggerated.. meaning the vibrations in NS isn't as much of a problem as some NS owners have claimed, perhaps they simply had a faulty engine, or could be their riding habits, run in wasn't exactly engine friendly. or just plain bad luck. My bike isn't exceptional, it also has vibrations.. mostly on knee recesses and some on handle bars and yes.. it's very tolerable. I can't understand why this offends you.
Suspension to me seems perfectly balanced yes.
And Ofc please take a test ride before booking your NS, so you can find out for yourself what NS truly feels like. But mind it that the particular NS available for test riding may not give you the right impression sometimes. It could be a poorly maintained bike. I had such experience with a TVS Apache.

Brake pedals are hard to mend, they can be changed they cost some 450 bucks something if I am not wrong. Get it changed, because mending them won't bring back the old feel especially these are delicate but strong parts.

Check if your gear shifter has also been bent or misaligned, because a bent shifter can cause the same problem too. In both cases you can get your brake lever and gear shifter changed.

                        Cheers!

Hi friends, I met with an accident about a week ago. I was driving at a good speed, when suddenly, I happened to hit a dog and lost balance, in the process fell on the right side skidding along the tarmac. thankfully, I was wearing helmet, (value its importance all the more now!! ), and escaped with some minor fractures. Just got to see my bike after the accident, and I was fearing the worst actually. But, the crash bar, worked wonderfully, protecting the major parts of the bike all along. But there are a few damaged parts as well. The rear brake pedal is broken, the crash bar took quite a damage and the front brake is engaging itself all the time, which heats up my front brake. I just wanted to get a few doubts clarified, before I took it to the SVC. Will the insurance, cover the cost of all the damaged parts involved here? or do I have to pay for everything? I stay in Chennai, and my SVC is PBK Showroom, adayar, if that would be of any help. can anyone help me with the answers? thanks a ton in advance guys.
