    1. Comfort: I'm 6.2 feet tall and the R15 was never right for me.
    2. Mileage: Whats the milage like at normal speeds under 60 in the city?
    3. Quality: I've always preferred Honda and Yamaha because of their reputation of high quality, whats the word with this Pulsar, have they done it right?
    4. Could someone suggest a good Bajaj dealer in Chennai?
    5. Any other issues about the 200NS that I should know about?
    1. Yes, it is comfortable for you for sure.
    2. My riding style is between 65-75 (now) which gives me 42 average mileage.
    3. Bad quality compares between international brands. but it values your money
    4. I am in Keralam
    5. Vibrations even worst than Apache 180 !!!!. Low end torque, just like your R15. crash guard bolts. No stability above 120 KMs (as per speedo).

We had made many races between these two. 200NS even never seen after 5 KMs run which had smoked R15. I had ridden both of them.
I don't know about in highway . I think Yamaha is faster than Bajaj.

    Last words:-
I am not thinking as 200NS is never a upgrade to your R15 v2
Go for something powerful & having higher stability @ higher speed
Pillion is much much better than R15v2

Bottom Line: No major issues (s\minor ones, if any, can be rectified). Great power, stability and VFM.

I guess its theperformance which represents the brand and not just a logo. The logo aint an issue as much as everyone is talking about. I agree that its not welcoming to see the logo come off/crack, but its easily replaceable.
You are talking about not vibrations but, vibration sound, right??
Vibration cant be removed. but panel vibe sounds can....

greatest power in that economy range. no one doubt about that Surely VFM. There is no such a performance bike under 100K category.

I wish, If it was just like 150, 180, 220 ; it will ROCKS in terms of vibrations ......

I encountered serious traffic on my way from the showroom to the photoshoot place and my feet (especially ankles) felt like they were on a barbeque grill. Is this normal? I know that LC bikes generally do this in heavy traffic, but this was really crazy. Lesson learned, I'm never riding without shoes even if it's for a 2km ride.
Yea the pegs do get hot in really hot summers. But I guess its also because the bike is new, my bike's engine too used to get really hot initially but is fine now.
      Btw nice clicks (y)

Yea I was talking about panel sounds and all and they can be removed. But the engine vibration which you are talking about which is sometimes felt even on the handle bar can be fixed (i little bit if not completely) with the carb tuning. Some guys here have got it rectified. When the afr is on the leaner side it tends to vibrate more. Dont know how true this but worth a try.

Exactly. But compared to the plastic ones, that give in some cases, the sticker is a tad better option to look forward, tad cheaper too.

And I happen to see a 200NS (if my eyesight was good) with HID in Ooty, my hometown. Anybody from here, or the NW gang or any other. Just outta curiosity.

Finally I gave up on my patience and dropped the bike at Probiking, kothrud. Its then after 4 days of full on R&D, 2 Engineer visits they were able to trace out the problem. It was due to a play that got developed in the Piston & Crank. Even the timing chain sprocket had developed abnormalities i.e. got bent (I have no idea how that could happen. Never saw such a thing happen unless there was a physical exterior damage). So they are now replacing the entire engine.
Scary, especially since my 10k kms old engine also has begun giving out a new irritating sound since a few days. I have told the mechanics that I'm leaving the bike tomorrow regarding the same and asked them to check the tappets first. If there's no problem with that, they might have to dig deeper.

What I've observed is, the NSs from the very first batches have a few issues. Coz another friend who bought one a few days after me has faced the exact same issues faced by me, given that both of us ran in the bike in pretty much the same manner. But the more recent ones are quite different ones(read as issues resolved ones).

Firm suspension? Get it adjusted buddy. Btw, NS's seat is waaay more comfortable than duke's.

@Aditya: Mine too had been checked numerous times for tappet loosening but it wasn't the case any time. When did you buy yours? I got mine in around mid Sept.. and took it on streets on Nov2,2012. I wrote a mail regarding these cases with NS to bajaj.. I know of 7 different cases of engine replacement in and around Maharashtra including mine.

Thanks, man Yes, the heat is unbearable and I'm never ever riding it without shoes again. BTW, how many Probiking SVCs do we have in Pune? I know the one near Ruby Hall hospital. I'm planning on getting my bike's first service in one of the Probiking SVCs since (from what I've heard) they're better equipped at handling the higher end bikes than normal Bajaj SVCs. I live in Wakad, btw.

They verified that run-in was done perfectly and no break-in was performed. Timely oil change was done and there was no engine oil leakages along with the verification of the heat sensor was in perfect condition were verified using records and the engineer stuff.
I see, how come they can "verify" how you did your run-in ? You were on Motul right ?

guys after my first service am getting less mileage
                  i got 34 and 32 when i filled 200rs petrol twice
i ride from 2-5k rpm and short burst to 7k rpm
this is really low i feel, i drive sanely, with no rapid acceleration.
what maybe the prob ? or is the new engine oil to do anything with this ? i should wait before it settles down ?
mileage matters cause am a college going student

Yes maybe new engine oil....or maybe the mech changed the carb setting to little richer.

There is only one Probiking showroom and only one Probiking service Centre at Pune.
PBK Showroom: Near Ruby Hall Clinic
PBK Servicecenter: Kothrud, Near Nal stop

Try and get the bike serviced only from PBK as they have loads of better equipment to handle and iron out issues. They also have the one of the most heavily trained mechs on KTMs, Ninjas and NS.

They have records. They checked the piston and the wall conditions and then confirmed. Probably they might have their own ways, I ain't knowledgeable on that. Yes I was on Bajaj 10k till 500kms only. Post that, I shifted to 7100 as my running is little high and had been on that till the late 26k. After that, I had just shifted to 300v when this thing occurred. I was constantly getting mileage of 50 and above after run-in (5k kms). Very recently when this thing occured, the mileage had dropped practically to a all time low. It was kinda drinking petrol like anything, it returned a Fe of only 5~8kmpl. Power output seemed grumpy and patchy.

That's just great news to me (sarcasm :P )! I'm running mine on 300V since the past 3k kms and I've been ripping my bike like crazy ever since. Anyway, I left my bike at the svc today afternoon. I'm expected to get her back in 24 hrs. They did mention in the job card that a unique sewing machine-like sound becomes audible after ~6 kms of riding. So it's not just the tappets but the entire engine that will be looked into.

Other maintenance works mentioned in the job card:
                            1. Gear lever had too much free play, needs replacement or adjustment.
                            2. Clutch lever free play adjustment.
                            3. Coolant level top-up.
                            4. Left side sway correction (finally found the time for it).

                            Upgrades on my mind:
                            1. NGK iridium spark plugs as the slave plugs. Not sure if I can find one for the master plug. I need help in deciphering the letters and numbers written on a spark plug. Someone please help!
                            2. Duke 200 rear tyre - MRF revz c.
