    Hello guys,

My NS' chain is making noise while riding which is very irritating.
Whenever i release the throttle and pull the clutch, the noise gets more prominent as if the chain is rubbing against something (sounds like "khrr khrr khrr" at regular interval when the clutch is pulled). The chain is properly tightened with required slackness.
    What must be the issue??

There's always some noise as it's a open chain. Try "Cleaning" using Motul, 3M or any after market cleaning liquids or use Diesel. Then lube it with O ring suitable oil. Motul costs more but works well.

P.S : I use a local brand called Diamond to Lube.

        Don't use Diesel.
        Use kerosene but no DIESEL.

But diesel is not good for O-rings inside the chain,i heard diesel will damage the chain.
              Use kerosene bro,
              Cheers.

Posting after a very long time but i have kept up with the ownership thread as and when I had time.

Now since I am facing a problem, what better place to ask for suggestions.

This is a problem which had come up earlier as well. Basically my console (one with tachometer, speedo etc) resets twice. Once is normal when we switch on the bike but each time I press the starter for staring the engine the console resets again. Once the clock reset as well.

This had happened earlier as well (while the bike was in warranty) and at the time service center had said the battery has gone kaput and needs replacement. This was within the 1st 18 months of the ownership of the bike. The battery was replaced under the warranty and the issue disappeared.

Fast forward to december 2016 (almost 13 months after so called battery replacement) the problem has returned. As a normal person I took the bike to Popular Bajaj Service Station in Bannerghatta road Bangalore and showed them the problem. I did not tell them what was done last time. They kept the bike for a day and next day they said its fixed. I tried while being at the service center and it was working some how. I asked what they did, they said that they just checked some wires and if it comes back again then the console is gone kaput is what they say and would need replacement.

So a couple of questions arise, is it the battery that is the culprit here or the console. From my understanding its none but I may be wrong. I donot see any other battery related problems like the horn being weak or say the headlight being low. Neither I think the battery should die in a years or so time. The console also doesnot seem to be a problem as it was fixed somehow last time.

I feel this might be electrical problem but the service center guys are very reluctant to check it and I for a fact know would just push forward parts replacements on the bike which would cost me $$. So any suggestions or specific thing which can be done here would be very helpful.
I have AS 200 and also i am facing with this problem now. Some times the console works and many a times it doesnt. After a week with this problem, now my dash board totally not working and sometimes it flashes and then gone. I took to SVC in chennai and they said battery is the problem. I have tested it with multimeter and it is fine. Then they said console is the problem. If console is problem it should not work even once. Then they said wiring is culprit. But as you said all electricals including horn, lights works just fine. Anyway I am going to open the fairing and gonna inspect all the visible wires.

But I've heard the exact opposite bro saying kerosene is not good for O ring chains.

                      Better we can use cleaners

Forget kerosene diesel and other cleaner, just use normal gear oil and wipe the gunk with a cloth every weekend. Works for me on a CBR 250. 34,500 kms on OEM chain.

I guess this will throw some light on O rings myth

Whether or not WD-40 will keep your chain’s O-rings happy or ruin them is one of the most controversial topics in motorcycle maintenance. Will WD-40 destroy ...

                                Means this :

You can also use fresh engine oil, downside being if you use too much, it flings off over the front sprocket areas and the rear alloys (not tyre) also.

There is no need for grunge brush, chain cleaner and lube, spending half an hour just to clean the chain. You can use a piece of cloth, pour a bit of oil on it, and clean the exposed part of the chain with your finger. The move the bike forward, repeat. 15 mins job.
