Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hello to all,
I was planning a long trip(2000kms) on this bike and wanted some things clarified like
1. How much kilometers should I do in one day?
2. How many breaks should I take and at what intervals?
(How many kilometers I should ride at a single shot without harming the bike and for how much time will I have to wait to ride again)
3. In what ways can the bike fail and what spare parts I need to have in that case?
4. Should I take a spare chain?
5. Please suggest any other spare parts I need to carry.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Pls find the replies to your question in the quoted text.Originally posted by xttony View PostHello to all,
I was planning a long trip(2000kms) on this bike and wanted some things clarified like
1. How much kilometers should I do in one day?
- that's up to you and your body. Would recommend not to push yourself too much and limit the riding hours to a max of 10 hours per day.
2. How many breaks should I take and at what intervals?
(How many kilometers I should ride at a single shot without harming the bike and for how much time will I have to wait to ride again)
- breaks again depend on you and your body. The bike can take a lot of continuous riding. Would recommend taking a break every 100/150 KMs to freshen up or take a leak. Do keep yourself hydrated.
3. In what ways can the bike fail and what spare parts I need to have in that case?
- do carry a clutch cable and accelerator cable. Rest of the parts do not break off usually.
4. Should I take a spare chain?
- IMO it isn't required if your chain has enough life left and has been maintained with regular cleaning and lube.
5. Please suggest any other spare parts I need to carry.
- If you have recently serviced the bike then there isn't much need for any other spare parts. Just ask the mechanic to check the spark plugs, coolant levels, break pad, engine oil. Carry a spare bulb if you have space.
Any help is greatly appreciated.---

Thank you for your reply.Originally posted by santosh.k View PostPls find the replies to your question in the quoted text.
I'll be doing the servicing myself before the journey. As a matter of fact I have the bike open right now.
Instead of carrying bulbs for the bike I am thinking of carrying external light units like this. Just don't know how and where to fix them.

I've got the cables, extra fuses, extra lights, extra horn.
Is there anything I am missing?

Change the diaphragm in the carb. Part No 8 in the pic.Originally posted by Skarage View PostThanks for the replys. I guessed it was a fuel pipe issue.so i took it to a garage and he changed the tube and the knob for 300 rs
,anyways rode the bike for 20kms and again the same issue.so I took it to the same garage and he told me there is electrical problems which he supposedly fixed for rs 450. I kept asking what's the exact issue and he wasn't being forthright he kept saying some fan issue. And again another 20 KMS the same issue. I took it back again and he did something to the fuel pipe again. Will check again after a ride tomorrow. The issue is it's happens when the fuel is lesser than half the tank not even reserve, it loses power and if I rip it hard it stops and won't start again till the engine cools Down. But the horn Speedo everything stays on.all this happened since I got it serviced through an online garage service. Costly mistake. Really burns the stomach when money's goes down the drain for nothing.hopefully it doesn't happen again

Covers up everything. One can never be fully prepared for anything that could happen.Originally posted by xttony View PostThank you for your reply.

Another question
What is the optimum spark plug gap for the two spark plugs?
What is the optimum turn from tight(anticlockwise turns) for the air fuel mixture screw?
