The cleaning and lubing will be done by the oil. Use the oily cloth to rub and work the chain links free of grime, then use another cloth or a clean part of the same cloth to lube it.

Worked for me. The CBR250 chain usually lasts 16-35k.

My ns exhaust pipe has lost all its paint and is looking like rusted brown pipe? Is there any chemical to remove it?

Clean it, and paint it. Haven't heard of any other method.

Painted it with an aerosol black spray paint, but it loses the color as the pipe gets pretty hot

Is that paint heat resistant? Does it run down or flake off when the exhaust is hot?

I am not sure it is heat resistant. It flakes off

Well, I use normal silver paint for my exhaust, it lasted 4 months before flaking off. You can try something like this :

For those who are thinking of painting your exhaust with high temp paint, you might want to NOT consider this…. Bought a cheap can of high temp paint. Looked good for awhile, then started tur…

Well, the rustoleum 2000 degree paint lasted 3-4 months before rust started to creep in, according to that link. I've used normal silver paint, costing me ₹120, and 3 coats applied by hand. Still lasted 3-4 months before flaking off.

If you've heard of anything else which would last a year atleast, I'm all ears. Otherwise, the silver works just fine.

If you're looking for something that looks absolutely brilliant and would last a year, I'd recommend removal the the exhaust, sand it down, prepped it up nicely, and use acrylic paint. The sheen that acrylic paint produces cannot be beaten by most high temp paints. But, the most important step after this is to leave the bike in a sheltered and air-conditioned room and ensure that the engine is never turned on. This way, the showroom look of the bike will then last a lot longer.

I don't know about you, but I'd like to actually ride my bike. And with use, EVERYTHING deteriorates. My polish and wax job on the bike doesn't last more than 3-4 months too. But that doesn't stop me from regularly applying it to keep my bike looking new. Yes, I could have put a layer of clear protective plastic - you know, those commonly found on brand new bikes - on my paintwork and thereby protecting it from the elements. But that too, will deteriorate over time. However, most importantly, I hate how it looks when the weather beats down on it and it starts peeling. Different folks may hold different aesthetic standards, but I personally find THAT to be visually unappealing.

Similarly to the exhaust, I have found that rustoleum's product to have excellent adhesion to the extremely hot exhaust header. Yes, it does start to deteriorate after a couple of months - more likely from the liquids and (sometimes not-so) tiny particles (rain water, mud, gravel, etc) that the front wheel spun up and hit on the exhaust header than due to the heat itself. But most importantly, when applied correctly, unlike non-speciality paints, it DOES NOT PEEL (or flake). Similar to the plastic example above, I personally find flaking exhaust paint, like peeling plastics on my bike's bodywork, very visually unappealing. In fact, I suspect that with a bellypan that blocks flying debris from hitting the exhaust header, rustoleum's specialty paint *might* actually last for at least a year.

sgbikerboy - I got your point, chill. Infact I'm facing the same thing you are, which is paint getting rubbed off from the bottom of the exhaust and the header area. The top parts are totally fine. Will try rustoleum when the monsoon arrives.
