The rubber which connects the carb and the engine head also has a clamp on it. Actually yesterday when I inspected closely (very closely) I found some tiny cracks on that rubber hose. So I am doubting it to be the culprit. Will post the pic tomorrow[emoji4]

Motul 5100 does not come in 20W50 grade.Originally posted by Minisoda View PostHello riders! Hope you're all doing well.
I was wondering if someone could help me choose a better semi synthetic oil for my bike. The RS 200. Since the NS and the RS share the same engine, I'm hoping to get some good info here.
I'm thinking to switch to semi synthetic oil. I couldn't find the Motul 5100 20w50 anywhere so can any of you guys suggest a better or similar oil?
Anything other than the stock Bajaj oil is good. Also, do you guys recommend flushing the entire engine oil out since I'm switching from Mineral to semi synthetic?
If yes, how do I go about doing that?
Thanks in advance and happy riding.
Currently I am using fully synthetic Motul 7100 20W50 which I feel is best for our engines. You can directly jump from mineral to fully synthetic I have done the same and its completely fine.
You just have to wait till the last drop of the old engine oil flows out and then you can pour in the new oil.

I'll keep that in mind when doing the oil change.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
My rear mono shock had been getting progressively worse and after some advice here I went and got it checked at a service centre. They said the rear shock is completely gone and has to be replaced. They asked me the purchase date (Jan 2015) and kilometers(14,000) and then told me, no problem we will get it replaced for you. After I gave it to them, they sent me a bill for 2,700Rs.
I said, my bike is covered under warranty and the damage to the mono shock is not because of any fault of mine, but the bad quality it. They said, it is not our fault either. We will only replace within warranty if the mono shock is leaking or if it has broken. When i said it was indeed leaking at the top, the manager said, it has be completely leaking. His tone became rough too and I knew it was no point arguing with.
I am really disappointed for two reasons.
1) The quality of the mono shock that fails after just 14,000 kms.
2) The silly reasons given to not honour the two year warranty for the bike and pushing the charges to the customer.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Sometimes, getting a warranty replacement depends on whose tone is rougher - yours or the manager's. You Should get a warranty replacement because even one drop of leak is a fault. According to the manager's logic, do you get warranty for engine parts only after complete breakdown??Originally posted by OccasionalWanderer View PostMy rear mono shock had been getting progressively worse and after some advice here I went and got it checked at a service centre. Write a letter to Bajaj.

On a personal note, do not wait for a response from Bajaj because you may never get one. Atleast, I have never got a response from Bajaj. Instead use the link and put in all the relevant information and vividly express your dissatisfaction and see how things move.Originally posted by OccasionalWanderer View PostThank you. I got a call from service center within hours of lodging the complaint on the website. And remember, the service center will try to coax you into closing the complaint on the website. Just stand firm and do not agree to close the complaint till the time you are fully satisfied. Remember any complaint lodged downs the reputation of the Service Center with the company. Make full use of it.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Had this same issue faced on my bike clocked at 13k km. Leaking from the top and rear portion was vibrating due to damaged mono shock. Gone to svc and asked for warranty and they got it replaced with no further question asked although they went through a quick inspection . Depends on the manager u deal with. And u got a stupid arrogant one. Try any other svc or tell him i will shoot a msg to bajaj with ur svc details with the problem.Originally posted by OccasionalWanderer View PostMy rear mono shock had been getting progressively worse and after some advice here I went and got it checked at a service centre.
