Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hello Everyone,
I have a query in regards to my bike, i am getting some sound at exactly 4.6k rpm. The sound is metallic and sounds like "khrrrrr". Like the sound you get when you rub the threads of 2 screws against each other. I cant go to service center now due to some busy schedule, would probably go next week.
Hence meanwhile, could you guys please provide your valuable inputs/suggestions regarding what it might be? How can I rectify it at a nearby mechanic?
Is it tappets? It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

Have u checked the drive chain slackness ? Mine NS has same khat khat sound when u accelerate till 5k rpm. But in my case , i need to change the chain sprocket set as chain slackness is not same throughout. So I need to keep it loose.Originally posted by Sal View PostHello Everyone,

Or it can be due to chain is getting in contact with the swingarm due to worn out rubber padding.
Pls check these things.

Thanks for responding mate.
I dont think its the chain, because I tried to raise RPM when the bike is still and I got the same sound at 4.6k rpm.
Also, i dont get sound till 4.5krpm; but I get a sound exactly at 4.6k rpm ; I do not get this sound in any other RPMs - just 4.6k rpm.. If i try to hold the RPM constant at 4.6k then the sound is continuous. It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

Either valve/tappet sound or the metal bend part of accl cable hitting cylinder head. Try moving the cable front n back near the tank's front...Originally posted by Sal View PostThanks for responding mate.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
The Pulsar 200AS and NS share the same engine. So I am posting here.
1. One thing that has been bothering me though is an audible engine vibration at near 6000 RPM. I understand that every engine will have resonances at certain frequencies. Mine happens to be near 6000 RPM, but I'm just wondering if others have also had this experience and/or if it can go away on its own or by tightening something.
2. The tachometer needle vibrates at 9000 to 9500rpm. Is there any problem inside the engine due to which the needle vibrates.
My AS 200 has crossed 10000 kms. I change engine oil at every 3000 kms (bajaj oil). My tappet clearance was adjusted at 6000 kms due to vibration issue.

1. Can happen due to n number of reasons. Try setting gaps of all plugs to 0.6 mm and check. Also check if your mixture is getting richer than normal. Set rpm to 6000 and check CO at sampling point (not exhaust!). Should not read more than 2.0Originally posted by Pulseman View PostThe Pulsar 200AS and NS share the same engine. So I am posting here.

2. Everything vibrates above 9000 for me! My friend got rid of the high rpm vibes by switching to full synth Motul. I'm still running on Bajaj oil.

Thanks buddy. I doubt if they have got the CO sampling device. My local SVC doesn't have that maybe I have to go to a city svc to get that checkedOriginally posted by krixna View Post1. But user manual recommend to keep spark plug gap to .7 to .8 mm.Originally posted by krixna View Post1. Can happen due to n number of reasons. Try setting gaps of all plugs to 0.6 mm and check. 2: Now i want to change tyres Eurogrip(read 'Euroslips') have done their bit.
3: I found that Michellin Pilot Street Radials are not available in 100/80 R 17 size...
4: Can i go for 130/70 R17 Michellin Pilot Street for Rear and 110/80 R17 Michellin Pilot Street for Front???
5: What will be pros and cons of larger size 110/80 at front???
6: What if i fix Michellin Pilot Street at rear and Michellin Pilot Sporty at front ( available in 100/80) ?
7: What if rear one is Michellin Pilot Street 130/70 and front one is Mrf Zapper 100/80??? Any adverse effect on Grip???
Pulsar 200NS owners will sure understand the issue.. please help..
Hey,
If you are going for 110/80 R17 Michellin Pilot Street for Front then opt for 140/70 R17 Rear Tyre as it'll be a good combo.
And i will choose MRF Zappers over Michelin Pilot Sporty any day..
I changed my set of tyres two months ago.. Now I'm running on MRF Zapper 110/70 17 for front and MRF Zapper 140/70 17 at rear.
The only drawback after upsizing to this spec are speedo errors, nothing else.

Meter shows higher speed or lower?

Regarding Oil change.
Hi guys,
I wanted to change the current engine oil to Motul 7100 20W50. However the packaging is only available in 1L. Is it recommended to buy 2 X 1L packs and refill 1200Ml and retain the leftover 800ML or should I fill 1L and add 200ML from the shop itself? The seller is ready to give 200 ML from the same grade another bottle which is not sealed. He has a workshop too, so he said that he fills 1200 to others too and keeps the leftover as nobody wants to buy 2L instead of 1200 ML .
So considering that the content in the bottle is not diluted or mixed, Is there any other damage that may have occurred to it? Considering that the seal is broken? I mean anything like drying up or any kind of change to its property? Can it be mixed with the new 1L that I brought?
And if you recommend buying 2L, please do tell me, how long it can be preserved and is it really worth it.
Thanks in advance.SOMETIMES,

In case if you have bought the 1L bottle try to return it back or get another 1 litre pack, I wouldn't suggest using the one which is already open.
