Same here. I did the 3 services anyway, but gave them 'special instructions': "Wash it, lube the chain, change engine oil and filter. Bike has no complaints! Don't screw up something what is perfectly fine. Do as I say and I'll give you 10/10 in customer feedback, or you are the one who is going to get screwed"
Of course, it had minor complaints in between, promptly rectified by either me (simple ones) or my trusted 'local' mechanic. Experience built on owning (and servicing at ASS :banghead: ) my previous Wind125 and P150.

Any harms in running as such? I have just used the insulation tape to minimize the accumulation of foreign particles on it. I am running like this for past 2500 kms.
Yesterday ! I got serviced my NS and got solution for leakage from the left side of engine. Got it serviced from a good (my regular) local mechanic he put some gel like solution which becomes hard jelly like substance after some time. Now my bike not leaking so far even on high revs.[emoji4] [emoji4] [emoji4] [emoji4] [emoji4]

It is silicone sealant. They sometimes put that on the head gasket too. It is very good to arrest small leaks. Only point to be noted is, the surface should be oil-free while applying, or it won't stick. Even if it sticks, it won't last long.

I went there to get my bike ready for the upcoming ordeal in the high mountains. As per the appointment I was there at 0900 hrs and I was given # 3 in queue which is cool by me. By about 0930 my bike was taken for pre servicing washing. The catch here is they took 1.5 hours to wash my bike. like really ??? and they were not ready to tell me where the washing centre was. I got to know from other customers that the people over at the washing centre are super lazy which is why it takes such a long time. WTF !

I will just summarize everything now else this could turn into a real long post -

These guys lost the keys to my bike with no one having a clue as to where the keys went. The mechanic servicing my bike was servicing it as he was doing a favor to me in the sense that he was cribbing the entire time about how many nuts and bolts the NS and later bikes have, cursing and abusing customers who were concerned about their bikes etc etc. Most of the time was spent chatting, joking with counterparts instead of the doing the friggin job he was being paid to do. I kept my patience for a while however it wasnt to last long.

Finally my bike was done and these guys were still not able to locate the key, they sent the bike to the key maker for a duplicate key. Upon arrival and refixing the lock it was found that they lock was not properly fixed and you all would be SHOCKED to know how they adjusted the lock. They picked up the front end of the bike and banged it back down to adjust the lock following which I really lost it. Before he could do it again I gave the manager and the guys a good piece of my mind along with a lot of adjectives in true Delhi style (could not help it)

Finally, work done (well not all though) my bikes pollution check showed that my bike's CO was at 2.95. When I asked them to tune the bike I get a response that 2.95 is fine since the Pollution department had prescribed a level of 3.0 for two wheelers. I asked the Manager one simple question - Does he even know what tuning a bike is all about or all they care about is taking money. The mechanic at that point of time was only concerned about leaving for the day and just packed up and left without even bothering to check if the work he had been assigned to do was complete. He left the handle loose, post lock fitment, to the extent that even a small undulation on the road would cause the entire front end to get knocked up. I finally had to take it to a local guy on the way to get it tightened.

Frustrated and pissed, I just picked my bike, paid the bill and brought it back home and have SWORN never ever to set foot in that service centre again.

Guys please be wary of taking your beloved machines to Bagga Link as you would surely be in a lot of pain after seeing the way your machines are treated. I noticed one thing - only things which they can charge spares for are given preference else they will just ignore.
Be it Delhi or Kerala, Bajaj service centers all have the same nature! I worked as service coordinator in Pioneer Bajaj trivandrum service center for just 2 days and quit the job because I couldn't accept the way they treated the bikes in there. One mechanic, he was performing wheelies on some poor souls 220! Don't think that I am exaggerating, this is something I saw being done in front of me

The very first time I took my NS to a service center in Ahmedabad, I saw a service center guy racing out in a NS from the SVC and going in full rev, through the wrong side of the road. Probably he went for "TESTING" if there are any complaints.

I took a u-turn then and there and returned back home. Searched for other comparatively "better" SVC, went there and stayed with the bike, so that he does not takes it for a spin.

I believe Bagga Link Kirti Nagar is better than karol bagh for servicing as it has servicing area for Kawasaki and KTM also... tough owner of both is same...

I have a Pulsar 200NS and I was having an argument with a friend regarding choke usage. He says using choke everyday is very bad for engine. But I use choke everyday for the first start of the day. So, can some one please tell me if it is a good practice to user choke everyday for the first start ?

Really so bad treatment, sorry about it. Usually from my previous 6 years of experience with Bajaj and their service, I too am aware of their weird policy of not allowing the bike owners in washing or service area (Unless for some solid reasons, esp when they want to charge you for replacement and when you yell, they will take you there....!!! ). It didn't happen at Honda service, though I wouldn't praise them over my head but still... Better.

BTW, did they not tell you that the key was lost?, else could you have got your spare key to open. I'd never let them do that and nowadays either I am doing it myself or look for service in small workshops rather going their ASC.

I do not remember where I read it, but I am under an impression that disconnecting the battery and leaving at disconnected state (to discharge any charge held up in capacitors) for 30 mins and connecting the battery will reset the clock. Then after adjusting to the correct time the poster of a message (i think in xbhp only) reported it fixed the issue. I havent tried (just lazy).
I really don't think so. Because this is digital clock run by a program, not from quartz.

                    Going slightly technical....

There is something called ppm in crystal oscillators, which powers the CPU and RTC chips inside. The ones that Bajaj uses should be of lower grade, for cost saving (Guess), which eventually will degrade over time, plus the resolution will not be up to date, simple as your wall clock, but wall clocks uses quartz whereas digital clock uses simple digital logic.

For example, I have a digital table clock which needs correction once in a month, however the variation is just 5-6 minutes.... not a big deal.

And for my NS, yes the same issue. But I get about 10-15 minutes deviation in a month time. 1 hour is too extreme.

Plus, you don't need to wait 30 mins to try that. Just disconnect the battery and try turning your kill switch to ON. Try and let me know :-)

So, do you also suggest the above method for problem correction? Or have you tried/changed anything else?

And if this disconnection of battery stuff is done, how often does it requires that the process be redone? Like does it solve the problem for sometime or does it requires to be done frequently as the clock again starts to slow down?

User manual suggests the use of choke "If the engine is cold or when starting for the first time, use manual choke for quick starting." That said, it depends on the state of engine tune also.

If it starts and can stay running on idle without choke, there is no need to use it. If there is difficulty starting or if it does not run at idle speed (means, turns off), use choke till the rpm rises to around 3500-4000 on choke. There is nothing bad for the engine in using choke anyway.

I posted this earlier too, that my NS meter console is resetting all again during self-start, as it appears while turning on the ignition, ie. the orange light glows on the console and rpm needle goes to red line and comes back and the clock resets to 1:00 AM. Someone suggested me the its a battery problem and i need to replaced the battery.
I am planning to buy a new battery online. So, What's the battery rating in 'Ah' of NS battery? Which one should I go for?
