Hi guys,
Suddenly I am facing one strange issue. My NS (2017) is not picking up speed beyond 96 on straight road. It could be a common issue. Any solution is appreciated.

I have noticed this issue in some NS although I own an AS200, it had a weird handling issue. It took me a year to resolve it.Originally posted by faffy View PostHello guys,

Lets start with tyres, you have to see the wear on tyres, the pattern on which it is coming in contact with the asphalt. Wash the tyre and take it out for a short spin on plain road. Stop, use double stand and see how much and from where to where the tyre was in contact with the road. A misalignment issue with forks can cause the pull. Tyre pressure is advisable at 25 for air and 28 for Nitrogen.
Next is Forks, check the seals and oil levels in them, use 225ml to 250ml in each fork with dampening rating of 15WT to 20WT. Use Motul Fork oils.
Bent Wheel can also contribute to pull.
Want to check bearings? Pull them out, if u feel the movement while you apply pressure on the outer rim coming off, its done with. If you feel there is friction while u spin them, they are done with. Use same spec NGK or Tiscon bearings. Last longer and perform better.
Check the axle nut, it could be bent too.
There is something which I would like to share with all here. There are 4 screws or nuts holding the front mud guard attached to the forks. Most of the time these nuts and the threads get damaged because of the poor quality and the mechanics try and fit a larger nut instead to replace it. This results in misalignment of forks causing the pull on the handle. It is something even the best of mechanics don't understand. Carefully check this, after the mudguard is installed, without installing the tyre, try slipping in the axle nut, it should pass right through the fork holes. If it doesn't, you have a problem.
CON nut bearings or Ball Racer Set, most mechanics install the P220 con nut set in NS200. This is wrong, it destroys the play setting on the T. Use specific CON Nut set for NS200. Refer to 99rpm.com for part number. The most noticeable difference between the two parts are the way the steel balls are packed. The NS has 2 sets of plastic rings holding these balls and P220 has lose balls which are placed with grease.
Also, the front caliper sometimes malfunctions and one of the two piston engages due to worn out seals, causing the pads to come in contact with the disk. Check if thats the issue, you will be able to notice this by removing the pads and check for wear off patterns.
If you feel your rear is about to slide, its the sprocket bearings and wheel bearings.
Have your swingarm bearings changed periodically. Most don't even know there is a set of bearings in there.
Hope this should resolve the issue, if it doesn't, I will surely find a solution.
