Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I've ridden the Duke 200 and 250. The ns shares it's engine with the Duke 200 but their characters are different. Is this why the ns feels underpowered when compared to the Duke 200 or the one that I was offered for test ride had issues ?

Duke kills when it comes to low to mid end performance, NS kills when it comes to top end performance.Motorcycling Experience:

Probably. But how would one explain the wide Gap between the thrust you feel on a Duke vs the ns when shifting gears ? The Duke literally throws you back in your seat as compared to the ns which seems to be more relaxed.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostState of Tune.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
actually the gear ratios are pretty much same, but tyre size and rear sprocket makes the difference. so by changing those 2 to duke's, you can achieve almost same results but you will lose out on top speed.Originally posted by rookster View PostThat explains a lot. Duke is short geared and Ns just the opposite, isn't it ?Fz25 2018 (ABS retrofitted)

Indeed, the front remains common for all Pulsars and Duke's at 14, the rear for NS is 39 and for Duke 200 is 43.Originally posted by rookster View PostThat explains a lot. Duke is short geared and Ns just the opposite, isn't it ?Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hello guys,
I have a strange issue, for which I am looking for answer, if someone faced same issue earlier.
2 days back I got my Clutch plates replaced by an experienced mechanic for my 200NS 2012 model.
But from today morning I started having pickup issues.. When I rev my bike, it just makes noise, and do not moves the way it should be. Its behaving like, the clutch plates have gone bad in 2 days.. which is offcourse not possible.. There has to be an explanation and fix for that.
Please help, if you know or faced this issue earlier.
PS: I got my engine oil changed to Motul 7100 as well with this clutch playe replacement.

This is why you should have gone for a new assembly instead of clutch plates. Mechanics mess most things and then the brand is blamed.Originally posted by ABHISHEK_P200NS View PostHello guys,

On that note, check the clutch adjustment.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
The clutch plates need to be aligned properly inside the hub, then they hub has to be placed inside the holder, the mechanic has to ensure that he has the fittings right, that he is not using local plates or that of 220. It is always advisable to change the Clutch and the pressure plates together. Check the cable play too, a tighter cable will keep the clutch engaged. I suggest you take it back to the mechanic and ask him to rectify the fault.Originally posted by ABHISHEK_P200NS View PostHello guys,

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Multiple reasons, Gear Ratios, Dual Overhead Cams (DOHC), Fi Combustion, larger exhaust valves, larger intake valves, a tuned ECU, large rear sprocket, agile and sturdy frame.Originally posted by rookster View PostProbably. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Guys, I bought the parts myself, and not only clutch plates(KTM), but the whole assembly, including pressure plates and hub.
Secondly I have already asked Mechanic to get it corrected, as I am his 6 yr old customer, and I am sure, even if he has to pay from his pocket, to get it corrected, he'll do so...
The reason of posting this question here was only to know technical reason that can cause such thing.
And when I take my bike to mechanic, i already have a heads up on this issue.
Thanks for yr inputs. I guess nobody else had same issue earlier.
PS: Similar thing happened with me earlier 4-5 yrs back, when I got clutch plate assembly replaced by Bajaj, and after just 2-3 days it started behaving like plates have gone bad...
I asked bajaj to rectify, and without putting in any new part, they just did some setting, and it was corrected without any extra cost. But it was my mistake not to ask them what they did to rectify it, that time.Last edited by ABHISHEK_P200NS; 08-31-2018, 09:02 PM.
