Under what circumstances and a carburettor go kaput?

My mechanic said it's gone and needs changing.

Speed used to be 153, now goes up to 140s. Also the throttle response seems poor.
Mileage used to be 42, is 28-30 now.
Clutch plates were recently changed so that's not an issue.
Bike is 43k Kms old, and I'm from a Kolkata. So the weather is hot, humid and it's also dusty.

I am a bit hesitant about it because I've not heard of people having to change their carburettors too often.

Had been to the service centre yesterday and they claims there was a loose contact. Now it is working but, letc whether it would be fine on a longer run.

Put it back and try tightening the clip. If it happens again get a new clip from a hardware shop. Have seen the rubber duct jumping out from a couple of NS due to loose clips

                      Hello Fellow 'NS'ians,

Hope you all have and had a good day!!!

                      Current ODO: 5500km, 5 months

My brother bought an NS200 BS4 version last March and he completed his routine 4500 km and 3rd service. I couldn't ride the bike since i was away in Kochi for job and bike was at Kollam. Recently i took my 10 year old Suzuki Access and exchanged it with NS200 from my brother as he is soon leaving.

God!!!,i was glad riding all the way from Kollam on NS and it felt good as i was always riding scooters most of my life and did not went above 45 kph.

Everything felt great, the acceleration, suspension, the brakes, the lights, the seats, the analog meter..everything is good and beyond, but a someone said, man is never satisfied and i found my own complaints for the bike. Maybe it will be the over expectation or it can be faulty service. But i need help as i do not want a new vehicle to be in ruins due to my negligence.

Problem 1- Clunky gears & Leaks

I guess this is common in Bajaj bikes. The gear feels unusually clunky for a new bike(maybe a more viscous oil would solve it). Sometimes it feels hard, sometimes it feels smooth. Mixed feelings. The oil indicator shows correctly i guess, on center stand, bike turned off for more than an hour.

Attaching the oil level indicator, coolant level and oil filter cap FYI. Is the coolant on the higher side and is there leakage from oil filter?Click image for larger version

                      Problem 2- Suspension

I am close to 60 Kg, and the suspension is set to level 2 soft. But it still feels hard and i can feel the road usually. Harder than my company owned 2006 model pulsar.(It feels a dream to ride on that, just the suspension of course).Click image for larger version

Problem 3- Higher Rear Brake lever level

The brake lever is higher than the peg when the foot is on rest. I don't know whether it is a riding technique to use 70/30 brakes. But i does feel higher and pains to keep it on the foot rest.

                      Problem 4-Rear Brake sound

I was surprised to know from my brother that the service center(Sarathy Bajaj) had changed the rear section, (alloys, tired, discs, etc) twice free of cost to rectify a rubbing sound from the rear end as they where unable to diagnose the issue, it was below 1000 km back then. The bike gets started in the morning, the brake is not even applied, it gets the occasional rubbing sound and small vibration and once the brake is applied, it goes away.

Now after the rectification there was no issue. But recently i noticed a small sound when brake is applied, nothing major. But it still feels imperfect.

                      Problem 5- Missing

This is the most important issue faced, and i preferred to write it down at last as it would be in the memory for a good time for the readers. The bike stalls in 5th and 6th gears below 4k rpm. Usually i do ride in city and 5th and 6th gears are a dream. But once out on highway cruising and overtaking, the bike stalls for like a second and picks up again. Speed ranges from 50-70 kph. Don't really know the culprit here, the ASC guy told my brother that 2017 models have this issue and even the Dominars are having the missing issues(Doubt that though). Another guy told me that the carburetor or the spark plug may be the problem.

One of my Xbhp friend was of immense help, but dint want to trouble him too much.

Addon: Wanted to install LED indicators like the ones in RS200, is it a direct fit? any issues from this?

Hope to get a fitting replies as i want to take the bike to Popular Bajaj Kochi, near Palarivattom for checking the issue. If there is any reference that the Kochi guys can give for a good mechanic in any of the ASC, it will be of very much help, cannot trust the random ASC guys too much.

                      Thanks!!!!

Do you mean a buzzing sound from the console area? If yes, then it's a common issue and the SVC has a fix for it. They'll open your console and add rubber strips or double sided tapes and close it. Dampens the buzz

Hey guys, I picked up ns 200 white yesterday.. Bike looks stunning.

I came across several posts saying eurogrip tyres are horrible.. I mostly drive in city limits.. Are eurogrip tyres that bad?

Could someone explain what's exactly the problem with eurogrip.

                            Thank you.

                              Hello brother,

Congrats on the new ride!!!!! If I am not wrong new models(2017)are with MRFs, not Eurogrips. I think Eurogrips are hard compound rubber than other brands and pribet to skidding. Suppose that is the reason to all negative reviews.

                              Hope it helps[emoji4]

Hey thanks for the reply, not sure if 2017 version also have MRF tyres.. But pretty sure mine has eurogrip installed.

It's little sad that I didn't do enough research on tyres before purchase.. Also disappointed in Bajaj making decision to install low grip tyres on a sports bike, keeping in mind, Indian roads in general.

If I could pay 1.1lac for a bike, I could definitely pay 3-5k extra for good stock tyres.
