just came back from NS owner's meet. it was a pitch to convert existing 200 users to DOMINOR.

the event was held in Waiting area of Service Centre with refreshments being served. i could notice unfamiliar faces, which i got to know later , were from Bajaj's Sales team.
in the beginning, they asked if we are facing any issues with our bike, many guys said they were facing issues with battery draining out in new bike. water in their fuel tank, sprocket issue. they said these issues will be fixed.

i also said my bike generates so much vibrations, they took my info and asked me to come on a working day.my wife who accompanied me also mentioned seat is very hard for pillion rider and height of seat is quite high. no solutions for that i guess.

Then come their pitch for DOMINOR 400. they took us downstairs to the bike, bike looked great in black. one rider was there who bought Dominor and was using it for few months. he was asked to share his experiences with us

      Pros:-
      -Big engine
      -Slipper clutch
-Comfortable seating for pillion (as compared to NS)
      -ABS on both tyres.
      -LED headlight.

      Cons:-
      -Low average
-coolant issue as this guy was facing

Then test rides were given.i took one and was impressed but still i need longer test ride, which sadly bajaj doesnt provide.

i chatted with the guy and they mentioned we DOMINOR owners do regular riders in exclusive DOMINOR club, they showed us pics of recent rides done. few guys went to Ladakh recently. as i understood, food and accomodation on rides is sponsored by Bajaj.

Bajaj have good schemes for navratras. pay 80k and rest 80K at interest free .

Don't risk it. You'll have to pay a hefty amount as fine. But if you're Houdini in front of cops😛, then you can ride for as long as u want, w/o PUC

For a new bike, you're free as long as you don't have a registration plate. Once you get one, I guess it is 3 months. Personally, I got it done after a month of registration to avoid any troubles

Great to hear this....pay 80k and rest 80k interest free.... but that interest free might be coming with lot of **
As i already faced this while purchasing NS 200...where i found how dealers are actually making fool of us in financing the bike..showing that they are charging only 15% interest but when you calculate the total amount in the end it was like 23 to 24%

Never finance your bike from any dealer while purchasing bikes...
              Prefer direct loan from bank
If you dont believe take any one with you who is really good in Accounting

Its an old Rule. When you buy a bike or a car, you get a PUC from manufacturer himself, which is in square shape with text "Non Polluting Vehicle" on it. It is valid for one year. After that, maintenance is up to owners, who may chose to do it or not. So they should get a PUC from local verifying authority (Those local PUC omni's ), so the vehicle stays in original condition.

Indian laws are good and sensible. But no one follows them, that makes the whole country look bad.

Could you provide more details about other issues? Being based outside India, I would like to know some in advance and start importing the requisite spares in advance. E.g. Now I know I might need a new battery soon.

                        OTHER QUESTIONS, FOR EVERYONE
What alternatives exist for the hard seat on the NS? I'm told that some service centres sell a cushion of some sort?
Also, what is the idle rpm supposed to be on the new NS? It's different after just starting the bike and after riding it for like 30 mins.

Because the finance on bike is done by flat rate method( simple interest) not like those for cars( reducing principle as in compound interest)

The LED indicators in RS 200 looks cool. I have installed it on my NS.
It will fit without much trouble.
But, it is costly; set of 4 costed me Rs 2400.

There were no problems from those; using for almost 2 years.
