I'm getting some tappet noise from my NS but only when the engine is hot. Consulted a local mechanic and he said he's going to tune to valve timing and the tensioner. So is it better to ask the SVC mechanic to do it or can I get it done from my local mechanic? I've not had a very good experience with the SVC but it's a risky thing to give it to the mechanic too. So any inputs is appreciated.

Are you sure about the validity of that square sticker for one year?Originally posted by kris123456 View PostIts an old Rule. When you buy a bike or a car, you get a PUC from manufacturer himself, which is in square shape with text "Non Polluting Vehicle" on it. It is valid for one year. After that, maintenance is up to owners, who may chose to do it or not. So they should get a PUC from local verifying authority (Those local PUC omni's
), so the vehicle stays in original condition.
Indian laws are good and sensible. But no one follows them, that makes the whole country look bad.
Because my dealer told me I need to get the puc done after 6 months. And that the sticker is valid for 6 months.

That sticker has a tag line mentioned under it. it says. "Valid for One year". If that's not mentioned, get PUC done from local petrol station. That hardly costs 50 bucks. why are you so worried on this?Originally posted by i_rock098 View PostAre you sure about the validity of that square sticker for one year?

I trust my local mechanic more that the guys at SVC. Probably because he answers even the stupid questions that I ask him patientlyOriginally posted by DarthVVader View PostI'm getting some tappet noise from my NS but only when the engine is hot. My personal opinion will be to get it done from someone you know or have a good rapport with.. Be it a local skilled mechanic or a technician at the SVC

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I searched a Lot on this but didnt get any, even i asked the Service center to give a list but they prefer not to.Originally posted by ThePossum View PostLink to parts catalog and price list for some parts on the new ns200? Need some fairings.
But i think a spare parts dealer will give you the list. Or you can get a rough idea through various websites from google search

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi Guys. This is my first post on this forum. I own a red NS200 since Nov 2016. Bought it used at 8200Km mark.
I have ridden it a little more than 11K since then. I use it as a daily commute.
I am having a strange problem in the bike and I wanted to take forum's help in resolving it.
My bike had a lot of engine knocking when I bought it. It sounded like a sharp sound coming from exhaust and bike engine stops. I am always able to restart the bike though.
I played with engine oils and carburettor setting and somehow able to control it, but the problem has not completely disappeared.
Wants to know if any other rider faced similar problem and how it was resolved?

Take it to a experienced and trusted mechanic, I had similar issue with my NS, lot of knocking sound and I never cared for it, engine got royally screwed up. Service center guys didn't do shit when approached. Bets is to go a local mechanic who knows what to do.Originally posted by sgarg View PostHi Guys. This is my first post on this forum. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Thanks for really good information. Can you please tell me what parts were changed to make the knocking go away.Originally posted by vinitbuch View PostTake it to a experienced and trusted mechanic, I had similar issue with my NS, lot of knocking sound and I never cared for it, engine got royally screwed up. I also noticed that Motul oil suits this bike far more than Bajaj DTSi 10000 oil. Bajaj oil seems to increase knocking problem. Did you notice similar?
One more issue. The rear wheel has a lot of resistance to turning in neutral. (When I compare with other bike Discover F150). Is it OK?Last edited by sgarg; 09-25-2017, 12:54 PM.
