Re: Pulsar 200 NS
For me efficiency also decreases and braking distance increases, it doesnt feel safe to ride in rain...Originally posted by smrutisourav View Posti do experience that, but it doesnt loose efficiency, firmness of bite offered by disc brake weakens, but it stops as it used to stop earlier...i mean to say its nothing to worry about

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Don't forget to mention that it went up to 2.5rpm after a ride and then slightly after some time reduces and plays between 1.5 or so. . .Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostNo. Varies between 1 and 1.5 no matter what. It's not just a tuning issue for sure. Something's messed up with the carburettor. Or maybe there's an air gap somewhere (I sincerely hope not). As soon as the vehicle is stopped, the idle comes to 1.5, starts reducing, comes to 1, jumps between 1 and 1.5 and turns off. Strange!
Cheers!!!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
good tires also help with good braking, about the front brakes, ask a mechanic or SVC guy to clean the disk pads and put proper amount of oil and if the lever is damaged or broken, change that, it'll work fine, . .Originally posted by faffy View PostI meant my front brake issue dude..... tyres are fine....
(PS: I don't ride a NS but that's the common issue for not sharp or what you call good front disc braking). . .

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Thanks for the info, but last time the mechanic cleaned my disk pads, the brakes later felt even worse, then after a week or so it came back to it's original biting power. I have a feeling a good local mechanic can do a better job at this but Im always too afraid to hand over my darling to a Local mech.Originally posted by Rakesh Rok View Postgood tires also help with good braking, about the front brakes, ask a mechanic or SVC guy to clean the disk pads and put proper amount of oil and if the lever is damaged or broken, change that, it'll work fine, . .

I believe it comes very cheap man, ez for your pocket. Why you looking for it though.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View Postneed some help from you guys.. if anyone have to visit SVC, can you please ask the price of the side-mirrors of N200..?
it would be a great help to me..
How are you going to sleep while your bike sits at the service center for two days !! xDD Btw, never heard of anyone decarbonizing at 13k KM, infact some xBhp members said decarbonizing isn't good at all ?Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostNo idea. They said they did it. I wasn't present during the process.
Edit: Today I went back to the SVC with a firm mind. I stressed on the problem again and finally was able to convince them. They are gonna work on it after it gets cold again and return it to me in tip-top condition in one or two days. Let's see what'd happen. Meanwhile, I have also asked for my air filter to be changed.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
I want t install them on my FZ.. The stock ones are soo lame.. N200's are a bit sharper compared to them.. I hope they fit..Originally posted by broken87 View PostI believe it comes very cheap man, ez for your pocket. Why you looking for it though.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
I see, well I don't know about that cos almost every FZ I spot on the road doesn't have RVMs. Simply cos FZ looks better without them.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostI want t install them on my FZ.. The stock ones are soo lame.. N200's are a bit sharper compared to them.. I hope they fit..

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Yup that's another big thing to worry about. . . In that case, just try to find someone near your place and ask friends or other people who have good opinion on certain mechanics, approach them, speak to them about your problem, if you are satisfied with them leave your vehicle, cos local mechanics are best compared to SVC guys if you ask me, cos they will take care of each part of the bike and also as they will be having just one or two bikes to service compared to those dozens of bikes getting serviced in SVC. . .Originally posted by broken87 View PostThanks for the info, but last time the mechanic cleaned my disk pads, the brakes later felt even worse, then after a week or so it came back to it's original biting power. Re: Pulsar 200 NS
i got my bike serviced just ten days back, and that time had told them this issue, after that for a week it was excellent, but now again there is a play in brake lever and it loses bite and efficiency in rains....

Guess my prayers were answered a bit earlyOriginally posted by broken87 View PostHow are you going to sleep while your bike sits at the service center for two days !! xDD Btw, never heard of anyone decarbonizing at 13k KM, infact some xBhp members said decarbonizing isn't good at all ?
. I got my bike in 4 hrs after leaving her at the SVC. The mechanic who ruined the tune himself repaired it. I wasn't charged a single buck for it. What had happened was he had not placed the carb diaphragm properly after decarbonisation. And fiddling with the AFR screw later simply worsened the situation. Now the idle is almost perfect. It needs a bit more fiddling to improve the response, but I'm expert enough to do that
.
Thanks to Rakesh Rok for helping me through this. Speaking to the new manager did do wonders.
I've read varying opinions on decarbonisation. Some say it should be done every 15k kms to keep the engine off too much carbon and some say the piston rings in the modern engine can go all through it's life without a single session of decarbonisation. As for me, I don't think I'll get my bike de-carbonised ever again. It's got three freakin' plugs to burn off the excess carbon. The oil and petrol (motul and shell-super respectively) I use are top-notch so that simply says it was a waste getting it done. I learnt that the hard way.
Ah well, nothing ventured nothing gained. I guess.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.
