Re: Pulsar 200 NS
If its only the HID bulb then NO but if along with a projector then YES. the glass needs to be removed from the reflector in order to install the projector that gets screwed on to the reflector.Originally posted by broken87 View Postheatgun ? in the oven at 160C ? what is this discussion about ? On the same note i have a query for those who have installed projectors on their NS. What is the maximum diameter or biggest size projector that we can install on the NS.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
Can anybody post a DIY for cleaning the rear disck pads of the NS? or at least tell me how to do it. Do i have remove the whole rear wheel and axle?

Help Upgrading Fornt Tyre . P200NS
Should I go for Pirelli Sport Demon 110/70 R17 for front . I tried for stock setting (100/80 R17) but couldn't source one . I am getting this one around 4.5K .
Lastly, when I upgraded tires. I got rear stock size for around 4K but was not able to get front one. So, I went for Michelin Pilot Sporty (100/80 R17) .
But that tyre squeaks more than stock eurogrip and even i had my first corner crash with this one.
My Bike is Sep 2012 Pulsar 200NS.
Should I go for pirelli one or not ?

Here you go...
I don't have the new pedal to compare to,but the thickness of that stopper is definitely redesigned.
I won't be replacing my pedal BTW.
You could however weld a small plate of the desired thickness to that stopper(encircled in red). That would save you the cost of buying a whole new pedal.Last edited by rossyamaha46; 07-20-2013, 11:57 PM.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take...,

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
I am sorry. I was busy @ work. so I couldn't visit this thread for last three weeks.
So my opinions & replays may be out-dated
Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View Post13500. The bike was running perfectly. No cold start issues. Reason why I got it done - There was a lag at 7k rpm and that began getting more and more perceptible as the days passed. So I thought de-carbonisation should solve that. It did solve that. There's no lag now and the bike is a true gem to ride. But the engine behavior below 2k rpm is driving me insane! The idle isn't steady and the rpms take a few seconds atleast to come down to the idle. The posts on team-bhp on de-carbonisation scare me. Can you put my doubts to rest?Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostNo. Varies between 1 and 1.5 no matter what. It's not just a tuning issue for sure. Something's messed up with the carburettor. Or maybe there's an air gap somewhere (I sincerely hope not). As soon as the vehicle is stopped, the idle comes to 1.5, starts reducing, comes to 1, jumps between 1 and 1.5 and turns off. Strange!
"LAG" ????
Its a common issue with 200NS. Many of us had shared about this problem.
Some had rectified by tuning & mine had to replace my carburetor.....
I think we have to De-carbonize our head, if we are facing knocking issue

Change the tires mate, to a softer rubber. . .
Cheers!!!
Soft rubber will increase his breaking efficiency ???
Just read his problem ones more. Its not about skidding....
Its because of its designOriginally posted by broken87 View PostI spotted like several riders who'd just ride their NS with their foot on the rear brake pedal all the time, can be seen cos Tail LED lights up when they do.
but I am used to it
I am using Philips Xtreme Vision with stock bulb's wattage.Originally posted by karthikrathnam View PostFor the people who are apprehensive about using HID,
try osram night breaker H4
Got it fitted last evening and I found it really a good replacement of stock one low beam is yellow and high white, caution on pack says improved performance by 40% then your stocked one and i feel that it really does
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xBhp Connect mobile app
even though I am not satisfied that; It will give you much more glare than the stock. I have been using Philips Xtreme Vision for last 4-5 months
It cost me about 500Rs INR. Actually not VFM product
( I had used 35W HID on my previous Honda Unicorn)
Comfort !!!!!Originally posted by Trideep View PostHave been following this thread for sometime and and planning to upgrade from my humble Pulsar 150 to the 200NS.
Just wanted to find out, how comfortable or not so comfortable is the pillion seat while touring? Also, wanted to know if anyone has taken this beast to Leh Ladakh so far?
No!!!!
Don't compare a commuter bike with a sports bike.
It will give you more power, stamina, stability & speed. but you have to forget about comfort ...........
Foot rest have to be placed slightly backward, Brake pedal to be lowered.Originally posted by princesirohi View Postbike design has nothing to do with foot on rear brake pedal riding, i had observed ppl doing it on all kind of bikes.
Your breaking is "perfect" for 200NSOriginally posted by rossyamaha46 View PostDon't know about other bikes, but the NS has a design flaw for the rear brake pedal. It's inclination(Negative) is almost ZERO,in fact the pedal inclination is more on the Positive side(i.e towards the upper side).
This is not the position that your foot normally rests in(Compare it with the way your foot rests while your toes are on the Gear shifter, that will make it more clear).
Any ways,I do not have any problem with this.I always ride with my toes on the pegs, and I rarely use my rear brakes, unless I need to stop when I am at a high speed. Most of my braking is done with the front brake only.
Braking Ratio= Front:80% Rear:20%

!!!!!!!!!Originally posted by princesirohi View Postin my bike the brake pedal is below the horizontal line through foot peg-->>
if it is not like this in your bike, you can get it adjusted. its quite easy.
?????????
Eehhhh. Is there a design change in 200NS ????????
No one had mentioned about this!!!!!!!

Please sugest if this is normal or they are trying to misguide me.

Which service station you are at ?
1. Clutch Plate : Do you feel lose in Pickup ?
As above member said.
Take your bike for now without clutch plates.
Lol, I'm on 34k kilometer now & still thinking to change the clutch plate or not.
And I'm not a sane rider
Do 1 thing :
ON a empty road / place. In 1st gear do quick accelerator.
Like we do vroom-vroooom.
See if you think the pickup is less or late. Do you feel the bike responds slowly or after you move throttle ?
Change your Gears Continuously @ 4k RPM
And Match your Speed with Other NS user.
2. Chain Set :
Touch the hanging chain & see if its to loose ?
If its loose it can be easily tightened.
Now look @ your rear Sprocket & check if your rear tooth are damaged / worn ?
If you can post a good quality close picture picture here of Rear Sprocket anyone can help you to make a decision.
Chain & sprocket set may be had done their limit to adjust !!!!
I am waiting to be warranty exhausted to fit my existing security alarm (Minda make)Originally posted by faffy View PostAnybody using any alarm systems on their bikes?
Last night, somebody stole away petrol from my bike and had also cut off the petrol supply pipe, from society parking.
Bike got stalled on the way to office , and then i thought petrol may be over, though i was lil surprised as i wasnt expecting it to get over , towed it to petrol pump , and filled petrol, and then i realized that the pipe is cut when all the petrol leaked off. Then had to tow it to SVC and got it repaired. Had a tough time today.
