Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Thanks Hari. Will re-adjust it what it was before. Dont understand why Bajaj decided to follow the ratchet style drive chain adjustment system. The screw type was much better than this, one can tighten the chain just the right amount in small increments.Originally posted by Hari Rajan View Post

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Theoretically it shouldn't. What i would suggest is rather than speculating and guessing you should head straight to the svc and get it checked ASAP.Originally posted by abhishek6590 View PostI am from Delhi , I park my bike in the basement of office parking not under open sky.. but ya i had taken my bike to local service for a bike wash and polish... from that day i am facing this problem.. but is it because of water in tank? if there is water in tank then why should oil not drain from tank ? water blocks oil ?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
ok i will be checking it.. and yes my bike had fall from side stand ... even though it was a light fall because i was holding it from the other side trying to prevent it from fall.. what could that lead to??Originally posted by Hari Rajan View Post

do this, open ur tank cap and see if there is water in the top, not over the petrol, but you have a small collecting area around the fuel cap.if you see water there, then surely water is getting in. btw to obstruct petrol flow like that, there should be a lot of water in tank, and even so,that would come out too.did your bike fall onto a side anytime?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
the water in the petrol cap collecting area usually goes into the tank when the bike is tilted that much, which is a fall in normal cases. thats y i asked this. i guess your prob will be rectified with a petrol tank cleaning and a carb cleaningOriginally posted by abhishek6590ok i will be checking it.. and yes my bike had fall from side stand ... even though it was a light fall because i was holding it from the other side trying to prevent it from fall.. what could that lead to??

loosen it up slightly more, chain adjuster should be done on both sides is the issue, that too without centre standOriginally posted by sunilyo View PostThanks Hari. Re: Pulsar 200 NS
My bike had fallen 1 mnth ago ... but the problm is since this sunday when the local mechanic had opened the tank for air filter cleaning and then reinstalled tank, after that had washed the bike. Also i had applied grease to the chains after cleaning. But then I learned from a friend that I should not apply grease to open chain... should I clean chain again to remove the grease?Originally posted by Hari Rajan View Postthe water in the petrol cap collecting area usually goes into the tank when the bike is tilted that much, which is a fall in normal cases. thats y i asked this. i guess your prob will be rectified with a petrol tank cleaning and a carb cleaning

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
For now, use a duster or old cotton cloth, soak it with kerosene and keep wiping the grease off the chain. Repeat it until you are satisfied that the chain is clean. Now you can use a good chain lube to lubricate the chain. In an open chain system, the road dust and mud tend to collect very easily.Originally posted by abhishek6590 View PostMy bike had fallen 1 mnth ago ... but the problm is since this sunday when the local mechanic had opened the tank for air filter cleaning and then reinstalled tank, after that had washed the bike. Re: Pulsar 200 NS
I used some zorrik 88 spray on the tank for removing the sticker marks and they are removed without much fuss.Originally posted by pv1984 View PostHaving issues with the sticker marks on the petrol tank, I had let the sticker stay on the pulsar logo on the tank but now this sticker has created some marks and doesn't look pleasing. Any suggestion that could help in getting rid of these ???BreaklessBiker

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
a wash shouldnt give you this problem, ask the mechanic to open up and reinstall the tank., applying grease isnt good as far as i know. use a chain cleaner and spray on a running chain, and let it run for some time. clean it with a rough cloth, you can apply cleaner again and wipe out all the dirt. after that apply chain lubeOriginally posted by abhishek6590 View PostMy bike had fallen 1 mnth ago ... but the problm is since this sunday when the local mechanic had opened the tank for air filter cleaning and then reinstalled tank, after that had washed the bike. Re: Pulsar 200 NS
also check the tank cap and check for anything loose inside the tank.Originally posted by abhishek6590 View PostMy 2months old pulsar 200 ns stops randomly while riding and engine would not start ...... every day while going to office I need to ride 12kms, but engine stops after riding for say 8kms and then when I open the pipe comming from tank to test the oil flow i found that oil not comming out and thats the reason for engine stopping. Then after pushing the bike for sometime when I see that oil is draining out I connect the tank pipe and then engine starts.. Again after riding for sometime the same thing happens...
Please suggest me what to do... what is preventing the oil from comming out of the tank?
check with the tank cap off, if the problem is rectified, the cap is the problem, else there is a problem with something blocking the fuel line.Last edited by surampudijagadeesh; 08-02-2013, 12:24 PM.BreaklessBiker

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Hey! Good quality pictures BTW.Originally posted by sunilyo View PostPosting some pics of rear brake assembly. So what do you think will be the best way to open the caliper set?
Here is how you could remove the break pads or the caliper set. The most important error that we could end up is air lock in the fluid pipe which takes time to bleeding the air and set it. Good luck mate!

Thanks petrolhead_chn. the bolt on the right side of the caliper right behind brake fluid pipe is not accessible from the front. I will have to check if its accessible from the other end if not then i think no other way other than removing the axle.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
IMHO What actually happens is , water even though in small quantity has a higher density than oil, so it gets accumulated art the base. That small quantity gets stuck in the fuel line. when you keep it open for a while, gravity plays its part and the water get drained out of the pipe and starts porting out again. A thorough cleaning of the tank and the carb will fix it hopefully.Originally posted by abhishek6590 View PostMy bike had fallen 1 mnth ago ... but the problm is since this sunday when the local mechanic had opened the tank for air filter cleaning and then reinstalled tank, after that had washed the bike. Anytime brother. I'm sure you should be able to access. When I reach office today, I'll lookout for a 200NS and let you know again.Originally posted by sunilyo View PostThanks petrolhead_chn. the bolt on the right side of the caliper right behind brake fluid pipe is not accessible from the front. it can also be chain wear, i am facing this problem now( 8.5k on odo) some part of chain damaged more than the rest. there will be a rise and fall in the chain while running, you need a jack or centre stand to test this on NS, if you start the bike and put it in gear and look at the chain( bottom part) you will see the chain level rising and falling. if that is the case, your chain is starting to screw up.
