      Side panels ????????
      you mean the fairings ????????
have you ever rode a full fairing bike like R15 or 150r (low end )
      90+ KM/Hr
Then you will know, what is the use of fairings.
Whats the use of buying a NAKED BIKE if you love fairing concepts? Implementation of fairings on P200NS does make any sense?

I have to be massively proud of my beloved NS then. Or I can consider you to be someone who isn't that easily impressed. If you want to know what NS *really* is, go take a test ride now. The test mules are usually exceptionally maintained by the mechanics to ensure the best possible first impression. I guarantee you, it would be better maintained than my NS.

I am still . are you talking about vibrating sound??? I am not...
My NS doesn't make even a single vibrating sound, because I have used double sided tape to all panel joints.
So what seems to be the problem?
        Replies in bold.
There's one thing I have been noticing in you since the beginning. No offence, but you don't seem to be too satisfied with your bike and tend to crib about it. You tend to 'find' niggles with what I believe is a near perfect bike that you have.

Actually , if 'we' fit a full fairing to a naked bike, it aint gonna give you better aerodynamics. The company tests a fully faired bike extensively for wind deflections through the kit along with better heat dissipation thereby increasing aerodynamics and at last most of them goes through a wind tunnel. A fairing fitted by our self on any naked bike will be a total disaster unless you are a bike manufacturer.

Oh, my what have I done. Started a Naked vs Nude war here! Hold your horses guys. Faired version has its unique advantages and a naked version has its advantages. No matter how much one makes it a faired version or strip it down. What comes from the manufacturer is there for a reason it may be for cost cutting, simple, aggressive look or a fairing for more sportier, lean and racy stance.

            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

            • NEW Pulsar 200NS Fuel Efficiency is only about 32kmpl??!!!

              Hi xbhp-sians,

I got my new 200ns on 5th April 2013. I loved the bike the moment i saw it in OVERDRIVE last year.
Long story short, I loved it and i bought it with my own money after a loooong wait..
The thing is that I didnt check for fuel efficiency until last week.
              This is what i did:
1.I immediately filled it with exact 5 litres of petrol when the Fuel tank changed from Main to Reserve.
              2. Reset the trip 1 meter to zero and also noted the ODO(805kms)
              3. Just today i got the shock of my life when the fuel once again came into Reserve at (960kms).
              4 Trip 1 was showing 159.5kms.
This means that i am getting only a measly 32kmpl!(in city(Bharuch,Gujarat if you were wondering))

The thing is that I didnt run in my engine properly...I just could help but rev it up and continuosly stayed above 60..went upto 121 even!
I have rarely crossed 6000 rpm(i thionk so..difficult to notice when going at over a 100kmph) and normally drive it at the 4000 mark. I drive fast but not rash.

I know I have damaged my engine but is there still anyway for me to get atleast a 40kmpl figure?

I gave the bike for its first service just last week before filling it with petrol(gave it @650kms) but the service guy didnt tell me about any problems with the engine.

Dont you think he would have noticed if my engine was being abused???

Btw I still need some expert advice and the thing is that I dont trust any of the people here in town. I have been ripped off many times just because people came to know that i have difficulty speaking the local language(weak in Hindi too).I am from Visakhapatnam btw,

Would be grateful for any advice that you guys have for a newbie

              Thanks in advance!

So,it turns out the guy who slit my spark plug cable didn't just stop at that. He cut through my rear brake's caliper cable as well. He also tried to cut through the clutch cable cover but must have run away before he could finish. The spare caliper cable cost 268 bucks and since there was virtually no brake oil left in the rear reservoir,I had to top it up as well. Got tuning done according to the CO meter. Turns out I had been riding with around 4.5 %. And getting a mileage of around 30-35. Now,they set it at 1.9-2.25. Have to see whether there's any noticeable difference in a few days. But one thing they couldn't resolve is the irritating high pitched squeaking noise everytime I ride. It seems to come from the brake discs but I have had those cleaned twice. It usually starts after a km or two of riding.

Bleeding the brake lines. I still see that Bajaj's svc personnel have a knack of being unprofessional as fc*k. I had gone to the svc on 17th to get these rectified. All they did was repair the spark plug cable and fill up coolant. The rest of the issues persisted. I had to make out time for that today. Only after getting the manager of the showroom to take responsibility did the mechanics work properly. Even then, most of the issues are just "normal' for them. The squeaking sound= normal. "Let it free up,sir. Don't keep opening up the caliper unit, sir." Well,I wouldn't need to if you worked properly.

                  Replacing the caliper cable.

Also,I don't understand how Bajaj, being the international collaborators of Kawasaki and the majority stake holder in KTM can be so callous in their listings. Brake leakage is spelled as "Break Lickage". Complacency has never turned out to be a good thing for many large conglomerates. They need to pull up their socks and change this.

Did you reset the trip to zero when you switched from main to reserve or did you reset it when you filled fuel?
                    Ideally
                    1. reset trip to zero when you switch to reserve
                    2. fill X liters of fuel
                    3. note trip reading when bike switches to reserve (Y km)
                    4. FE = Y / X
This is the reserve to reserve method. Try to fill fuel from a Company owned Company operated (CO CO) pump. This reduces the chances of you getting ripped off.

I hope you find the a$$ who fouled your bike. Till then think of ways to get your revenge

You can overlook their grasp on English, but their behavior is inexcusable.

You cannot deal with issues on the NS the same way as a commuter bike. A commuter bike does not rev up to 10k and rarely strays into triple digit speeds. I switched service centers (sai service, balgandharva) due to this f-ed up attitude of mechanics. Any problem is immediately assumed to be normal.

Fortunate the new service center (probiking, kothrud) has a NS trained mechanic, sagar, who is one of the most sincere guys I have come across. He starts work religiously at 8.30am (while the other buffoons stroll in at 10am).

Unfortunately the nail that sticks out, is hammered down. He pampers the bike till around 12, till the floor manager comes and shouts “poora din ek hi gaadi pe kaam karega kya?” (will you work on one bike for the entire day?). This kind of wakes him up and from then on, all issues are normal

Thanks for the solidarity. Anyway,It happend outside my coaching center. Came out during a break to check on my bike and I find the spark plug cable slit open. Thanks to the other two plugs I could make it home. The cut on the brake cable wasn't noticeable at that time. After I returned from Delhi after appearing my exams and gave it for sevicing on 17th,they spotted the oil leakage. I askd them repeatedly to call me before they started work since I had other work to attend to. They never did. When I returned, the work was apparently done. Couldn't check because it was already dark. Well, the very next day at a movie theater's parking lot,I found out that someone, most likely out of spite, had made off with the front tyre's nozzle cap. No pressure in it. Almost flew into a rage at that point. My faith in this country's people is falling rapidly. I know there are good people too. But more the exception than the norm. Respect for others' property and road safety are basic stuff that should be ingrained in one's mind. It's common sense.

                            Dude...I agree with you...
I got my bike from the showroom on 4th April and immediately ordered a bike cover from ebay
Three days later just after collecting the courier from ebay i saw that some noob idiot scratched the petrol tank and the front dome.
Went into depression and asked the showroom guy to help me out.
He took out some polish(said it was called cutter polish) and did some work on the tank to reduce it. But everytime I see those marks on my tank i feel a sear of pain somewhere inside my heart.
Paid so much for a bike and it was abused on the same day i got my bike cover
and the worse part is that he even scratched the plastic black portion of the front dome which can not even be painted!!!
i will just wait for a few months and get a paint job done
                            Life sucks man...
But i just deal with it..

Hey btw can any of you guys show me any nice sticker jobs on the 220ns?
that would be a cheaper alternative for me

It is more stable than the stock one @ higher speeds

                                @Aytas_sss :

posting my review of my third service that i did in a relatively new service center in my city, though had done a month back.
posting here for everyone's help who are from bbsr

                                Service centre: Vinayak Bajaj
I had taken my own oil and filter, they allowed to change.
I reached by 8.45 am and I was the first customer

Told the manager about me bringing oil and also oil filter, he agreed after talking little. They allowed me to stand near my bike where servicing was done
My bike had taken a fall on right side, so asked him to check it, also i felt as am having problem in turning though wasn't sure. Eventually found fork was bend. So got it straightened.

The kid working on my bike was well behaved and listened to all my questions and answered well.
Asked him to wash chain, after insisting little he opened chain and washed it, i think he kept washing for 30 mins. Work done was good and i'm quite happy with this svc.

Now the problems i found, last service centre (Sampark) where i used to go, have broken the part where a bolt which connects tank cover to tank (will post pic asap), so now my tank cover vibrates as bolt doesnt hold tank cover anymore.

So i wont be going to sampark ever for servicing. Things they have damaged : a>front left mudguard sticker b>my tank!
For sticker i was fighting with them for 6 months and even complained at bajaj but at the end they fooled me and got my signature on customer satisfaction form. Leave this, its a different story.

Now an good offer i found at vinayak service centre. They have a Annual Maintenance Contract for rs 200, according to this plan one can do 4 paid services by paying rs 100 only for each service. As they told normally an paid service costs 260 rs.

So if only paid service costs 260, then four svc will cost 1040, then if i take AMC, i'm getting 4 services at a cost of 600. Another thing I feel Bajaj has overshot by giving long service intervals of 5000km or 4 months, bike parts get loose every soon and many parts needs adjustment. So now I have decided to take this AMC, and do service every 2500km or 2 months, so i will get 8 paid services in a year with 2 AMCs costing me 1200. So, I feels its cheap and better. This AMC also available at Navdurga.

Btw Vinayak Bajaj is a part Navdurga Bajaj showroom. I think navdurga has 3-4 showrooms in bbsr, one navdurga, vinayak, manorama and another somewhere in Patia area.

Anyway now problem with bike, after servicing bike runs damn smooth, sounds too smooth, but after running 200 kms, different parts become loose slightly and make rattling sounds.

Hopefully my review helps people of my city. For an query you may contact me through PM.

I wondered , when you compared vibrations with 220s.
Listen my bike vibrated a lot after 2nd service, before that it was smooth but not honda smooth and definitely not vibrating machine. But after 2nd service it vibrated a lot and made rattling sounds. But after getting CO checked bikes vibrations decreased a lot. Hope it helps. Now my bike vibrates but negligible, and thats also near tank area only and handle bars at 7000rpm.
