  • Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences

Hello everyone, just joined xbhp community. I've been following this forum for past few weeks and at last made my decision to go for red-black 200ns. 2 days back, i got delivery of bike from Shiva Bajaj, Ghaziabad. Just completed 250 kms today. The delivery process from this dealer was just OK. They didn't had red-black 200ns with MRF tyres, so they replaced those Euroslips with MRFs. But the tyre replacing process took more than 3 hrs for them .
So overall, i reached at showroom at 10:30am and walked with the bike at around 4:15pm . The people were not trained well, so i'll never look back there for routine services.

My last bike was Hero Honda CBZ extreme 2007 model. It was a gem to ride, but had to sell it because i've just changed my job and now i have to travel 80kms(40+40) daily. So i wanted a meaner machine. But surely, I miss its flickability in traffic jams. 200ns turning radius is much larger in comparison.

    Now i have some questions:
    1. How is Dewan bajaj, lajpat nagar, Delhi for servicing? Its a 15 min drive away from my office.
    2. The Digital fuel meter is not displaying fuel level from the very first day, i noticed this issue the next day. I am sure there is some loose connection. Hope its not a major issue and will be rectified in 1st service. Any DIY/suggestions???
    3. I keep the speed below 50 but there are slight jerks while riding at constant speed. Again i think its a tuning issue and will be resolved in first service. Any comments?
    4. Somehow, Rear view mirrors are not serving its purpose completely. My body, covers most of the reflection. Any mods?

I am more like a DIY guy, so any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

I am planning these mods/accessories for my bike:
    1. Disc brake lock. Any disadvantages? Any brand suggestions below 1000inr.
    2. Custom tailored seat cover with added foam padding below it. 200ns seats are very hard.
    3. Helmet lock on leg guard.
    4. Bosch 60+ 90/100 headlamp with relays and ceramic holder. I chose Bosch because its authorized showroom is near my home. Any suggestions?
    5. Double horns (Dealer told me that warranty will not be a problem as far as i don't cut any wires)

FYI: I was offered MRF revz 140/60 by authorized MRF dealer for Rs1000 (in exchange of existing MRF) but later i changed my mind and now i'll continue with current setup.

welcome to xBhp Varun. That's another red-black 200Ns from Ghaziabad that has joined the forum. Shiva Bajaj staff is usually undertrained and/or incompetent. I have spent long hours there taking delivery of my 2 pulsars.

      Coming to your queries.
      1. My previous experience with Dewan hasn't been great. Though I am talking about 4-5 years ago. So don't know much that has changed.
      2. How much fuel did you put in the tank? Don't you see any bar at all in the indicator? Most probably it is a loose connector issue. Shouldn't be a problem.
      3. What Gear/RPM are you riding when you feel the jerk? Usually, the 200NS goes smoothly at this speed in 6 gear.
      4. I haven't seen anyone here complaining about the RVMs, so its just the adjustment issue. Take out the spanner and adjust them as per your preference.

p.s.: where in Ghaziabad are you from?

Fyi, the gauge does not show anything for the first 3 litres you fill into an empty tank.
If gauge is faulty, they will replace

It is not an 'issue' . They keep it tuned that way in the beginning

        4. Somehow, Rear view mirrors are not serving its purpose completely. My body, covers most of the reflection. Any mods?

I get one of the best rear views I have ever had!! Looks like yours is a case of wrong positioning. Get it adjusted.

However, Your rear view may be blocked if you are 100 kg have to go for mods then

Ceramic is a must.. 100/90W ('Hella Rally' brand) in my bike for one month now. No relays right now, however. You will have to cut wires for relay.

        5. Double horns (Dealer told me that warranty will not be a problem as far as i don't cut any wires)
Roots vibrasonic was super in my P150. Going to get a pair for NS too

            2. Around 6 liters
            3. The jerk is there even at 40kmph in 5th gear and at 50kmph in 6th gear. If i am driving at constant speed, its there. Its very slight but i can feel it.
            4. Yeah, i'll try that on this Sunday.

Lucky you...! I couldn't convince my dealer (Ekvira Bhushan at Airoli Navi Mumbai) for MRF.. But anyway, will live with EuroSlips or may change my mind after I ride a little. Right now the bike is in my garage waiting for the Reg number to arrive. The registration is done..

BTW, Is there anyone from Airoli Navi Mumbai or closer having dealt with Ekvira Bhushan Motors? It is primarily a SVC but also has a sub-dealership too. I witnessed a decent amount of buyers during my visits there considering Airoli is a small place.

Would like to know their level of expertise in servicing and if they are transparent enough. I am waiting for Bike Manual, invoice, tax receipts and reg recpt since 10 days now. Was going to get them on Monday, it got postponed to Tuesday and then now I got to know they are closed on Wednesday. So hopefully should get things tomorrow..

Avoid Deewan Bajaj - Poor service and poor customer management.

After lots of issues with Deewan i went to Suman Bajaj (Sec-2,Noida). They do a good job but the service center is crowded and they do not have separate service bay for pulsars. But still i choose them over Deewan.

BTW i also work near Deewan Okhla. Its best to go there for small tasks like chain adjustments, etc

Just saying... I'm not recommending this to anyone:
Bajaj says 1.75 for front and 2.0kg/sqcm for rear tyre.
I tried 1.5 for front and 1.75 for rear... And the Euroslips got converted into EuroGrips

BTW Sunilg, it was a pleasant surprise to meet you yesterday eve. I haven\'t noticed that another red-black 200ns is there in that dense traffic but thanks to your eagle eyes that you spotted me. It was nice having a few kind words with you. Lets plan to meet some day as we\'re residing in almost same vicinity.

                                4. Bosch 60+ 90/100 headlamp with relays and ceramic holder. I chose Bosch because its authorized showroom is near my home. Any suggestions?

Ceramic is a must.. 100/90W (\\\'Hella Rally\\\' brand) in my bike for one month now. No relays right now, however. You will have to cut wires for relay.
Thanks for your inputs krixna, i will try ceramic holder and 100/90w bosch without relay, because i dont want to cut any wires.
