Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Bro, are you talking about what sounds like a key chain just rumbling on and on?. It sounds like its coming from somewhere where the lock is placed but haven't been able to trace the origin. So by tightening the bolts under the tank, that should disappear?Originally posted by Arun Magus View Post

Sounds weird :/Originally posted by mutatedknutz View Posthey guys another weird problem in my ns
today after traveling for 60 kms on the highway i reach home and when i went to park my bike, after revving the engine i hear this weird hummm sound. i revved it fully and when i release the throttle the hummm sound comes, its like some resonance sound. this happened literally everytime i released after revving. is this normal? what is exactly happening and how to fix it?
You better show it to service center guys. We cannot say unless we hear it na? so
In run-in period, don't look into speedometer. Look into RPM meter. Try not to cross 5K rpm. That's all.Originally posted by pv1984 View PostGot the bike delivered yesterday, happy with it so far.
Already 120km on ODO, everything seems ok except that there is a noise when traveling below 20kmph irrespective of the gear i am in. Noise sounds like a whistle(continous). When checked with the svc they said that the brakes have to set in yet and hence it would take time.
Hope that is wat it is.
As far as run in , currently shifting at 3.5-4.5k's, didn't cross 55.
Is the shifting Ok, or should I shift below 3.5k ?
Both of you guys are having same problem? Kinda whistle sound? His bike is new and your bike is 6k kms... how does it come? Just rode in 20 or 30kmhr? From where it coming?Originally posted by ankur2smart View PostVisiting after long time...been busy cuz of my exams

Is it possible that brakes might be too tight(tail light/brake light does not glow on its own)?
Does not happen wen on idle or when at higher speed(>20); also after riding when I push the bike there is sound like there is something obstructing the front wheel movement(no resistance felt but only a very light sound)...disc's getting heated ???Last edited by pv1984; 05-14-2013, 09:19 PM.

Viaterra Claw
Uploaded pics of my goa trip with the viaterra claw. It was a 4 day trip and the bags were filled up to the max. The bag was used only on day1 and day4 journey (~450 km each)
None of us had any problems with the bag, apart from slight loosening of the straps, but the bag did not move about while riding. The bungee cords were added as a precaution.

May be some dirt like things in discs. Try cleaning the discs well.Originally posted by pv1984 View PostWell mine was due to the brakes as per the svc mechanic told me. its disappears as I cross 20kmph.

Tell it to svc guys. I think stickers will replaced under warranty.Originally posted by tejas1509 View PostHello All,
As our bike does not have paint on its body but only stickers... can we get them replaced in warranty ??
Stickers at front tyre hugger are peeling off...

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Any motorcycle (carburetted one) at the start in early morning most of the times, conk off and most start with a slight twist of the throttle, that's a given and will tell you why in a while. Now to your quote about "harming when throttle" there is absolutely no harm in bringing the bike up until 4k RPM during early morning start up. But the catch here is you shouldn't take the bike to 8 to 9k right from the first crank early morning, that's a bad idea and riding start off the first crank, that's a bad idea.Originally posted by Panzer1 View PostWell today I gave it a try! And used choke and started it and holy crap it started idling at some 3 or 3.5k rpm! And the bike was vibrating a lot. First time I felt that kind of vibration and some buzzing sound from the front. My normal idle rpm is only some 1.1 or 1.2k rpm during a cold start(morning) . I'm not sure of the idle rpm after letting the engine warm up though. So I'm guessing that rpm is a little less? Is that why I have trouble starting it in one go? And is there any harm in giving throttle after turning on the vehicle to heat it up?
It's completely normal for the bike to go 3.5k RPMs, that is not a problem at all, indeed it is completely fine. You can breathe easy
The engine must be warmed up adequately on early mornings for a few seconds which will lubricate the engine internals for good engine life.
Now why in carburetted bikes and not in FI? Because in FI the the body in controlled by EFI (a microprocessor chip that has values in it to control the flow of the fuel precisely based n sensors) so that you won't see FI bikes conking off immediately after start up, they almost start at anytime at any conditions, without any hiccups. The only problem is when you run out of fuel. HANUMAN KI JAI.
You are lucky to have your slave cut, if you master were to have been cut, your bike wouldn't have started. And I wonder who spliced such a thick cable. Bloody....Originally posted by Aytas_sss View PostWell,I have run into some real bad luck. I always take a cursory look over the bike before riding. Today, after coaching,to my horror,I noticed the cable connecting the slave spark plug on the right side of the bike has been severed clean. On inspection,it appears as if someone or something has either chewn through it or tried to cut through it with a relatively blunt instrument. Wincing with a pain almost physical,I turned on the bike and pushed the starter button apprehensively. Well, what do you know,it fired almost as cleanly as it did in the morning. But I did feel that the throttle response had grown way more jerky and the bike feels as if it is running out of fuel at times. Since my exams are on 12th and I have to travel to delhi and won't returning since 16th,I have decided to cover the bike with a dry cover and lock it in the garage till then.
The pain and anger is almost overpowering though. Pity I have to cap it until my exams. Will post a pic of the damage later.
But still the bike can make it home.
Some ingenius bustardo must have thought cutting this would kill your bike or for his wants, but whatever his intention was. On a lighter note. HAMARA BAJAJ.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
A colleague of mine had changed oil to Motul after first service, the SVC had in fact used Bajaj DTSI oil but once he left the SVC he went to a local shop and had changed it.
So if he goes in for 2nd service , is it possible they would know its non Bajaj oil and thus cancel the warranty ??

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Using 10w40 isn't bad after all as such. But you need to know one fact that, 10w40 can't handle the temperature than a 10w50 which means liquid cooled engines produce good heat in B2B traffic which makes the engine really hot on normal cicumstances, using a higher grade oil will help engine cope temperatures and smooth out.Originally posted by vaibhav93 View PostDid any one know about Master Spark Plug model for NGK and where i can find ...?

Nope not necessarily. The oil is far far far better than the "water based solutions" poured in by Bajaj. And don't tell them you've used Motul and don't even care to tell them when they drain it. Just observe and sit quietly, I always say.Originally posted by pv1984 View PostA colleague of mine had changed oil to Motul after first service, the SVC had in fact used Bajaj DTSI oil but once he left the SVC he went to a local shop and had changed it.

Even then if those mechanics find out, the oil grade you've used is far better and Bajaj themselves sell in some PBK, so you can be rest assured.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
I had a very perplexing situation last weekend. On Saturday morning I topped up the nitrogen in both tyres and took my friend to the city where we spent the entire day. Upon returning the rear tyre was found half flat. I really do not know why. I was telling my friend that the bike is not pulling as usual. But it never occurred to me that the tyre was low on air. Immediately, I went to the nearest tyre shop to check it out. I thought it was a puncture. The tyre guy could not find any punctures or holes or leaks. No problem with the valve. He refilled the tyre. I took the bike to two other places and they all said the same thing. No problems. What could have caused this mysterious air loss.
May be some idiot might have released the air when it was parked somewhere.Your bike is a part of you....

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Check your wheel rim, if ur wheel got deformed due to some heavy bump or ditch on the the road, there is a possibility of slowly air leaking between tyre & wheel.Originally posted by danny king View PostI had a very perplexing situation last weekend.
