Thanks for the clarification and I hope both of them come to throw some light on the matter, as well as anyone else who wants to discuss this.

In the highlighted part, you actually mean fuel instead of air, right? Because if you are shutting the air, the mix is actually getting richer (less air, same quantity of fuel), so if it actually is shutting the air intake instead of the fuel intake, then both Rahul and Shiba are right.

In the P220 the AFR screw controls the fuel intake, therefore in that case you and I are right about clockwise being leaner (less fuel, same quantity of air) and counterclockwise being richer (more fuel, same quantity of air).

        Cheers, ride safe.
Sorry for that..its the fuel screw so it completely shuts the fuel...and todayy i can confirm it with u the carb tuning is as same as any other carb....clockwise is lean...anticlockwise is rich..because i richened my mixture today my rotating the screw 1/8th of a turn anticlockwise and i already find the low and mid range acceleration better...

But according to the website, these are universal hand protectors which are fitted on to the brake and clutch levers.
Searched the net for something that fit the description and came up with this.

Take a look at the pics above. A handguard's prime functions are protecting the hand in case of a fall and preventing the levers from taking any direct impact. Even if it might protect the hand, the lever is barely covered and can easily break in case of a fall.

$7 only?! I'm not sure I want any of those, acoustics apart.
Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Well, these handleguards certainly are cheap. And the reason I would like to get a handguard isn't for safety on crashing (it is a secondary concern though),but for the reason that here,in the city I need to make my bike stand out yet be discreet to the undiscerning eye. I also reckon, these would help a bit in mitigating the wind blast while touring,as well as protecting the fingers from mud/dirt spray from vehicles infront.
Anyway, getting these for around 400 bucks for experimenting isn't a bad proposition now,is it? Once I start earning,I will see if I can move on to bigger and better things.

            • Update: So not only my valves, but the crankshaft too is damaged. Both will be replaced under warranty. I should get my ride back by tomorrow.
The reason being a probable defect in the bikes sold during the months of Sep-Oct (I bought mine in Oct)...as told by the ASM, Bajaj Auto, West Bengal.

As usual the svc was taking its own sweet time to get the job done. By bike was lying as it is for 3 days without any work being started on it. Had to approach the Area Sales manager (who turned out to be a nice guy and a biking enthusiast + a co member of biking group I belong to )
So he helped me out to speed up things at the svc.

Now what remains to be seen is that the ride is back to its glory without any side effects of the engine being opened up.

Attaching a pic of the stripped engine:

I see, so the service center had the spare ready in stock ? aight, i hope you get your ride back tmr only.
I'm confused with the part where you mentioned "a probable defect in the bikes sold during the months of Oct". I also purchased by NS on 21st Oct so my bike probably also has some sort of defect ?
Yes I agree with the last part, it remains to be seen how your bike behaves after going through all this. It's your bike in the picture but I feel so sad myself to see a NS being stripped like that... cause it's critical components gave up. damn..

But NS is still my true love
Tell me about it.. I once had this r15 guy overtake me in aggression cause he couldn't stand that I went past him at green light, I wasn't dragging or provoking.. i just wanted to move ahead quick & maintain a 60 or so km/h. But the next I heard is that R15's loud roar and watch him go past me. It was so loud, sexy & a scary exhaust sound to hear behind you. I had actually thought there was a superbike coming behind me lol.

                      • I have completed 1200 kms on the ODO, and have started revving to 6k rpm or 80 to 90 kmph for short durations. It is very hard to still keep it under 60. Is this fine or should I wait until 2000 kms as per the manual?

                        • Hello again people, today I had the pleasure to test drive a friends NS for about 150 kms after the first service and recorded a good part of it with a GoPro hero 3, unfortunately the clamp was kinda loose so the videos are kinda vibey, I will perform some image stabilization with Sony Vegas, upload them to my YouTube channel and post them here, that way you can also see some of my country's mountain roads.

Will do tomorrow (Saturday for me, Sunday for you guys)

Ok, everything clear now, I also kinda confirmed it today (but without fiddling with it) by looking at the position of the AFR screw on a friend's NS and it is actually positioned just in the same place as it is in my P220, ie the fuel intake, therefore we are both right I guess.
Do not click it unless you have an open mind...

Saw this recently when I went with my friend for his service.

The guy at the service centre at Andheri, Mumbai said that they sell it in white colour as well.

Has anyone come across anything like this.

Haven't gone through the thread, if anything similar has been posted kindly ignore.

Pay money and u will get a NS even in pink colour...

its a practice by many dealers..they have their own authorised SVC with painting facilities....my dealer quoted something between 4-6k rupees extra for any colour of my choice...
