    That indeed sounds magical :P

    It must have leaked somewhere for sure, owner would've failed to notice it. Or it got sucked in somewhere, taking it to the svc is the best way to know.


    In other news, got Phillips Diamond Vision headlamps, the white lights look sexy, although they aren't all that powerful compared to stock, probably 20% brighter.
    Also accidentally broke the rear number plate light plastic cover, now fitted a white LED there too, and left it open :P Wonder who's gonna steal the led first :|

    • Tomorrow we are trying to kick start the Naked Wolves Chennai group. For now we have around 5-8 members joining, it's not much but it's a start

        Did you check the coolant reservoir cap ?? sometimes loose cap lets the hot coolant coming back in to escape !! i had to open right side panel of tank and tighten the cap ... it solved my problem !

        i had this issue with my own bike coolant vanished in within 3 days after delivery !!

          1. how much did it DV cost you ?? wats the wattage ?

          2. atleast you have 5-8 members .... i wish i could be there !! .... people here in nasik are to damn boring ... doing this only makes people think that we are a group of hooligans !!

            600 for a piece. It's 60/55W same as the default Halonix.

              Is there any sign of condensation on the coolant inspection window? The coolant sometimes evaporates into oblivion. Sign of a bad quality coolant. I had the same problem after a few days of purchase. Rectified in first service. However,if the console doesn't show you the Low coolant/High engine temperature symbol during running,then the required coolant in the engine and the reservoir is adequate. 800 ml in the engine jacket and 200 odd ml in the reservoir. Just ask the svc to top up around 10 ml or thereabouts.

                Thanks to both of you for your insights, since we're still in holy week all the ASC's are closed so for now I'll advise him to use it with the low level of coolant unless the console shows any sign of overheating and will check that both the reservoir and radiator caps are tight.

                However, I do remember when he borrowed me his bike for a couple of days that there was indication of condensation when I checked the level before starting the bike the following morning and I also noticed his coolant isn't green but actually transparent.

                I will suggest him to go as soon as he can to a ASC to drain the coolant and replace it with motul motocool factory line which is the best one I know of.

                  Transparent coolant? Hmm. That's new. Seems to be a sign that the coolant used in the bike was either stored for a really long time or has already started breaking down. Either way,your going the Motul way is the safer route.

                    I dont know what exactly is the prob with your friend's NS, but I know of a guy whose coolant disappeared. And after a check up it was found that the coolant had somehow reached the engine oil chamber and mixed with engine oil. The svc rectified it free of cost. So you may want to get it checked.

                    • Got back to nasik this morning from mumbai !! took only 2.30 hrs ..
                      Riding in ghats was the real deal ...!! I was carving corners in the ways i never imagined !!

                      Had problems only in straight ways or open areas.. bike swayed alot in crosswinds ! Anyways it was still stable enough to ride below 100 .. in crosswinds !! also got a top speed of 140kmh (as shown on console ) .. and avg FE of 49.XX ...
                      After this the bike was riding much more smoother than before .... ( any views so as to why )

                      In the end i am Totally satisfied with the investment that i made !!

                          Wouldnt that be dangerous ? liquid coolant getting mixed with Engine oil !!

                          Recently there was a news of a bike bursting when started, leading to rider's death.. Such news give me goosebumps ..

                          • so i booked my yellow ns last saturday from sai service borivli.
                            ill get it it by saturday he said, i took a test drive before, i guess it was the new 2013 model, the first thing i checked was the clutch, it was very soft like r15. i guess its tuned ? or the 2013 model has the change ? and i stalled the bike while starting, the bike needs to be accelerated while rolling out clutch, unlike my friends duke,took it to 4000rpm and started rolling smoothly.after that i found the bike very smooth at almost all rpms, the bike dint feel heavy, i dont know why ? there was this showroom guy who sat behind me as the pillion. i even sat on the pillion seat, its very hard i feel :| one thing i forgot to check was the horn, ns seemed perfect and i booked it best vfm i must say

                              Definitely is but hopefully not mishap took place with such mixing.
                              Bike bursting when started!! Yikes! This sounds scary! did this happen to a NS or some other bike?

                                Great to know the improvement on the clutch. And what's with the Duke? Any bike needs to accelerate while rolling out the clutch, you can't let her settle at an idle and release the clutch! And buddy, the NS feels smooth even at 115 on the speedo. Horn is a disappointment, but you can always change it later!

                                Was it a stock bike or a modded one? A bike can't 'burst' just like that!

                                Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!
