Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi Anuj.. My bike is 5 months and 5k kms old, coolant was topped up to full at first service. The second service was done only last weekend where I had raised this issue but the SA just shrugged it away. Seeing his attitude I din't feel like asking further.

Okay I was asking because it looks like the issue of coolant not changed from 2 years .Originally posted by joeeffect View PostHi Anuj.. This is a issue .it looks like some foreign fluid (like you say rain water most probably) has entered coolant block.
Note that rain water is dirty ,acidic in nature and being water ,no anti freeze or resistance to high temps. Also it's immiscible with coolant.so at high revs it can produce problems ,even small molecular level cracks and pits in engine block .and this will be a highly disastrous thing .
# disclaimer ,above advice is based on your photo and material science+thermo theories and some real life exp
.
Bottom line is ,get the coolant drained .look for coolant cap tightness or any leakage also.see the state of coolant .if even 0.01% flimsy, change the coolant. It doesn't costs much.Last edited by Anuj_Gupta; 12-04-2014, 12:34 PM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Yes, looks like that's the only option now, will have it changed soon. Thanks for ur quick response. Another issue which I would like to discuss is regarding engine oil levels, I am running on Motul 5100 for 2.2k kms now and recently had to top up with another 200ml to bring it back to normal levels. Is this kind of engine oil consumption acceptable or am I foreseeing any trouble?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Well ,at just 2.2 k kms, 5100 should not be lost that much ..!! (200ml is a lot).Originally posted by joeeffect View PostYes, looks like that's the only option now, will have it changed soon. Unless you ride like me ,that is, rpm needles stays above 7-8 always ,then it's okay. Mine also drops to low because of this .
Change oil in next 1000kms.
As long as you take Carr of oil level and it ain't leaking.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Yup, there is no oil leak for sure. I am not that hard on the throttle but not lenient either. My commute is fairly long (80kms two way, 2-3 times a week) and maintain a good mix of sane and spirited riding. Needless to say, 5100 performs better during spirited rides in comparison, total contrast to the bajaj oil which turns notchy after a rough ride.Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostWell ,at just 2.2 k kms, 5100 should not be lost that much ..!! Welcome to the club Sudhi.
Have some patience and do a proper run-in of your bike properly. Accelerate slowly, do not accelerate past 5K rpm mark, and don't stay on any given rpm for long durations while riding before first service.
Also start the bike and let it idle for 2-3 minutes in the morning before starting your ride.

Welcome to the club.Originally posted by sudhi View PostHello friends,
please welcome me to the 200 NS club. Just took the delivery on 2nd of December. any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Suggestions from my end would be
1) Always wear a proper helmet. And shoes as well. I hate seeing people ride bikes while wearing slippers.
2) Seeing an NS, a lot of guys on the P220 will try to race you. Stay calm and let them win.
3) If you're living in a place where there's a lot of rain, check your chain regularly. Lube it at regular intervals otherwise you might have to change your chain sprocket at 12-15k kms.
4) Treat it like your baby.
5) Enjoy.

The mechanic check the battery connection, spark plugs and other things
There is loose connection with self motor which is on the right hand side of the bike near the ideal rpm screw
The wire connection is covered with the rubber
Perfect yaar.. It was the same with my bike. Called Bajaj mechanic home and he just removed the rubber protective cover, tighten the screw and put the cover back and done! He said this happens rarely so I think I am that rare species

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I am having the exact same issue. more felt at very low speeds. skv got any solution so far?Originally posted by skv View PostSvc also loosened my central screw and I am also facing something similar. It feels very weird to ride. It feels as there is some alignment problem. Sometime my bike seems to go left and sometimes right. While braking i need to make very slight direction correction, sometimes it feels very scary. I told svc thrice but nothing improved. I don't know how to explain it to them.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
That's not normal. I was able to go 3.5K between oil changes with nary a drop having to be topped up. Even I used Motul 5100 and it was in between my first and second service.Originally posted by joeeffect View PostYes, looks like that's the only option now, will have it changed soon.
