        A critical advise to you.
Never never ever ride a bigger bike, like kawasaki z1000 or r1 ,if you cannot afford them.
Once you do, you'll hate ns for weeks. .!!
        Been there, done that.
Esp on BIC. a combo of riding various laps at BIC with + R1,BUSA, Z1000 made me hate my ns for nearly 4 month's, until I was back into routine.
And yes you're right, once a nsian, you'll hate every bike except >> than duke 200

Do not know the name of the shop....I went around asking for shops selling bike parts....You do the same and it will lead you to a road which has all shops selling bike stuff....There you ask for hand guards....I paid 650...He asked for 850...Bargain hard...

              Guys,
Tomo gonna go for my first sevice...I have 600 kms on my odo...
I just wanna know if there is something i need to look into the bike post service.
              I have only 2 issues:
              1) I get a burnt smell most of the times. Checked for engine oil level and its at the ideal point.Do not know the reason for the smell
2)There some sound that i hear at the chain part thats exposed.
I am very particular about how my bike feels. Kind of obsessed with the machine.
Hope the service guys treat it with care,
BTW This is my first bike.
New to biking as well. So i wanna know what are the things i need to look into after it is serviced. I am kind of worried after knowing about the hopeless situation of the service centers. Please help guys.
              Thank you.

You don't just put radials on any bike for improved grip, only after enomous testing of the motorcycle a company finalizes these tyre dimensions. And Please note that the front tyre of 200NS is very reliable and grippy one. The hard compound of rear tyre is surely for cutting costs, but also gives them greater longetivity, puncher resistance and more than enough for daily use & even cornering fun. You won't believe how much I & fellow NS riders I've seen, can lean this bike into corners, that on stock rear tyres.
Mexicans push it to limits on track, see it, on these stock tyres itself.

                  2) Please train the staff properly....i now Bajaj is not responsible for the dealers employees but still ...please train them.
Always know one thing, most of the sales person working in motorcycle showrooms (and I suppose cars too) hardly know anything about the products being sold there. I've observed it personally. You know what a Manager in a Yamaha Showroom once told me about their R15 V2.0 ? That it's got 4 cylinders, 4 pistons, superbike like power. In these times, you can gather more knowledge about a certain bike through the Internet within 2 minutes of us.

                    Hey!
I am about to give my 200NS for the first free service this weekend. Some of my queries regarding the same:

                    (1) Is the service really FREE?
(2)What do they do in the free service and how long will it take?
(3)There's this metallic squeak that comes when i turn the handle bar towards the left and pull the bike backwards..i think its coming from the front brake pad..not sure. What can it be?

Is there anything else i should be looking out for during the first free service?

                    Thanks

                      How are you?
                      1) only labour is free ,,u have to pay for engine oil and oil filter and any other consumable if used.
2)oil change and oil filter change is must. and bike will be washed, chain will b cleaned and lubricated. and they will check other parts also...
3)have the brake pads checked, also how many kms have u done till now? as i understand the first service is only free if its done within 30 days of purchase or within 900 kms,,which ever is earlier.

                            Hey Broken,
You are the "old" "XUV" guy??
I remember. I hadn't logged on this forum for months (Year??)
The same thing (about tires) that I had talked to everybody last year.
& at-least one supporting me. Thank god.
                            Stock tires are superb.
TVS & Eurogrip are not same.
Every tire lot will have some manufacturing defects.
I was a MRF fan. & I thought, it was the best!!!
Please note that MRF doesn't have a single tire for 200NS
The rim size is differ from model to model.
MRF tires are built for Yamaha sized rim. It is best on Yamaha
                            Same on Pirelli
                            I dont know about Michelin
Our back brakes are more stickier than other bikes. Its a +point, right?
So it will lock within no-time. Get used to it
My previous bike was Unicorn. It will not stop even under 50KM/Hr speed.
                            (I haven't ridden any bike above CBR250R)

I am not only a commuter; also a joy rider (with normal commuting); That is why I purchased NS
I am getting a decent fuel mileage of 36-38
(Before carburetor replacement, it was 41-43 )
My average speed is 70-75 KM/Hr
Now my bike's ODO reading is 24K

I am not at all impressed with FS MOTUL oil (Concerning its cost)
So I am using SS Motul, purchased from Yamaha dealer.
Please dont use DTSi10000, If you can.
I wish if I am the only rider in roads !!!!!
So I can red line my bike all the time

                            • Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences

I feel compelled to butt in here with my 2 cents having used a CBR250 for two years and an R15 V1 for around 1.5 years. Currently the proud owner of a 200NS for four months running.

The R15 is out and out the best handling out of the three. But it's irrelevant here.

Below are a few points regarding the CBR250 and the 200NS.

Regarding seating, I found the CBR250 to have plenty of space to move my butt around while tackling curvy hill roads. I like spacious seats. It's not like the 200NS is lacking for space, just that the CBR is a lot more spacious. Comfort seems to be around the same, though the longest stretch I've done each bike in a day is around 7 hours.

Handling. I find that the CBR is a more surefooted bike around a fast sweeping curve and holds its line better. The NS handles well enough around those curves, but is more nimble-footed around a more twisty set of roads. It's just so much easier to flick around than the CBR, no doubt aided by the wider bars and the lack of weight at the front compared to the CBR.

Some things I do miss in the NS compared to the CBR are the more torguey nature of the CBR, and that the NS is more susceptible to crosswinds than the CBR.

In exchange I do get better brakes and more reasonably priced service charges and spares.

Honda will stick it to you with their grossly overpriced spare parts prices. 800 rupees for a rear disc pad set and 200 rupees as labour charge! I ended getting one from the Bajaj Service Center for around 1/4th the price with no discernible difference in quality and changing it myself. I wouldn't crib so much about the price if the quality of the product matched the what they were asking for it. Even Yamaha has more reasonable priced parts compared to Honda, with certainly better quality. Well, at least for the R15.

All in all, I certainly have no regrets trading in the CBR and getting an NS. Sure makes riding in the city less physically demanding.

As for the Euroslips. On hot days or with warm weather, they certainly are adequate. It's when the weather gets damp and cold that they are lacking, the bane of hard compound tyres. Rains are a particularly fraught affair. At least from my experience with the tyres on my brother's RTR180. I don't have any experience with the tyres on the NS.
