Hi Everyone,I recently had my bike washed (not pressure washed) by someone earlier today and each time I have been riding it, it seems to lose power suddenly for a fraction of a second and then comes back again. There is a slight dip in rpms but it is clearly noticeable. Could it be because water may have entered some part of the engine? Is it something that will go away after a while or do i need to get something checked/changed?I have never had any engine problems with the bike and I am certain these problems have started after the wash. The bike has run over 5000 kms Any ideas what may be wrong guys?

Re: Loss in power for some seconds
I guess carb has water inside it. Give the carb a wash and see the results. If problems seem to creep up again revert back . Thank youOriginally posted by Vikramaditya View PostHi Everyone,I recently had my bike washed (not pressure washed) by someone earlier today and each time I have been riding it, it seems to lose power suddenly for a fraction of a second and then comes back again. Wait, I dont get it, If the problem is caused by water percolating into the carb, how will washing it with more water resolve the issue?Blood, Sweat and Gears - Enough Said.

Re: Loss in power for some seconds
I meant opening it and cleaning it . Not with water. But with some injector fluid or kerosene or petrol.Originally posted by Vikramaditya View PostWait, I dont get it, If the problem is caused by water percolating into the carb, how will washing it with more water resolve the issue?

Re: Loss in power for some seconds
I think you mean that as u accelerate you feel some hiccup at certain rpm/speeds and then it picks up pace ?Originally posted by Vikramaditya View PostHi Everyone,I recently had my bike washed (not pressure washed) by someone earlier today and each time I have been riding it, it seems to lose power suddenly for a fraction of a second and then comes back again. It could be your air filter that has been partly clogged up (happens when it gets wet, the paper fibers tend to get stuck hampering air flow.. you might notice an area of the air filter that looks darkish/hard or different from the stock filter which is yellowish in color). So this is what I would advice, STEP by STEP: (I wouldn't suggest opening up the carb initially)
1. Remove the air filter completely and ride for 1-2 km and check if you are facing the issue - If it feels ok, then probably the air filter had absorbed some water and is now not letting sufficient air inside
2. Drain the carb (you do not need to open or wash it) - there is a drain screw at the bottom of the carb. Keep the fuel tap in 'reserve' position and open the drain screw and let it drain for 5-10 secs (whatever water/fuel in the carb will come out) - close the drain screw after 5-10 seconds and wipe off the fuel from the engine area that drained
Based on the results of these two steps, you will either need to change the air filter (or try with a known good air filter from another bike) or maybe even have the petrol tank cleaned up (if water had entered it).

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
It's good. One of my friend uses it on his 180 regularly.Originally posted by sauravdyakuza View PostReplaced the engine oil of my bike. I had hard luck finding 20w50 Motul and Shell. So had to settle with Valvoline 20w50 4T Premium Semi -Synthetic. Mrp was 355 for 1 ltr. Got it at Rs 320 per litre. Grabbed two bottles. Once read an article that this engine oil feels close to that of Motul. But has low drain interval of 2500 km . Lets see how much life and feel does it have. Someone shed some light. Thanks

Re: Loss in power for some seconds
May be there is water in the petrol tank as it happened to me once. Change the entire petrol, if the problem is still there then it may be carb or air filter as someone already mentioned.Originally posted by Vikramaditya View PostHi Everyone,I recently had my bike washed (not pressure washed) by someone earlier today and each time I have been riding it, it seems to lose power suddenly for a fraction of a second and then comes back again. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi guys, was trying to put up some kms on the odo.. feels like suspension is pretty stiff, but directly translates into excellent handling. Braking is great.. very progressive, I really like it. Haven't pushed it all the way yet.. may be in a couple of weeks when I get to take it out of city, I will get the feel of all the horses.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi Guys...
After lot of thinking and money management... I bought Pulsar 200NS... I am loving the bike..
Just wanted to know how to go about running in. I have clocked 100Km on the bike in last 2 days... have maintained 5.5k rpm and close to 50 kmph speed ...
Also am doing mostly city rides and using all the gears instead of maintaing a single speed with certain bursts of 70-80 here and there...
How long do I need to continue this ... like for how many KMs... The manual says to ride below 50 for 2k Kms... but I believe its quiet a lot...
So please suggest on this and how to go about running in... 1st new bike for me... so NOOB alert...
Galt In Action......
