Hi xBhp'ns: This is my first post on xBHP. I am from Bangalore.. Well I am not a kind of forum geek or not very fond of posting online.. but yes.. after looking at the reviews and posts about PULSAR 200NS on this thread.. I was bound to join and post.. ..I have been following this thread since day one... I am experienced biker.. have done many rides solo (I don't have pics for most of them though) and as well as in groups.. Recently Sold my 1994 Model Bullet Std. so was looking for a new bike.. I have two options with me in mind.. Karizma and Pulsar 200NS.. but I am more inclined towards Pulsar.. I am not or rather.. I was not a very big fan of Pulsar.. but looking at the posts.. reviews.. I guess.. I am going to Buy this one.. I have only two objectives in mind.. Engine should be reliable as I go for long drives often.. and it should be fuel Efficient.. by FE i don't mean that it should give hell lot of mileage.. but.. it should justify the fuel consumption for the power that it gives... I guess the new pulsar 200ns should meet both of the requirements. If I buy this bike... this would be my first Bajaj bike.. rather.. I will be the first in my family to buy the first bajaj bike.. lolz.. anyways.. though I do not own it yet.. but.. will be buying it soon..

AFAIK the engine needs to be turned on for the lights to work but not because they are connected to the engine, it is just a power saving feature to prevent battery from being discharged since the only source of ignition is the battery i.e. the bike doesn't have a crank, it is that way in P220 as well, if you turn the headlights with the engine off they will turn off immediately to prevent battery discharge.

Who told you that Bikes have arrived in Kolkata??
Seems to be a Distant dream.....

@chintan, Altough i'm not 100% sure, but I remember seeing your post quoting that NS has a maintenance free battery. However, as posted in the 1st free service list, there is a mention about filling up the electrolyte level(point 19).
AFAIK, maintenance free bettery means no hassels of topping up with distilled water every now & then.

That is something we can tell only after the bike is around for a long time. But Bajaj seems to have pushed all the media attention on the fact the bikes that were given for test drives in the Pune plant were trashed around alot( the major question was raised on the xbhp video about the engine head). Plus the article about the test mules indicate that most of them were ripped hard on highways. No major issues been mentioned.
i have used the classic pulsar long back when i was in college and recently i had a chance to try a pulsar 150cc and they have come a long way ahead from what they used to be. I am assuming Pulsar 200 NS should be a step above that.

                  1. How long is the waiting time for Pulsar 200 ns in Pune?
                  2. Is there any exchange offer in Pune for 200NS. I was thinking of exchanging my pulsar 150 cc UG3 for 200 NS and pay the difference amount.

What do you guys suggest regarding my idea of exchanging 150 UG3 with 200 NS. My Pulsar 150 cc UG3..2009..21K km done.
Wait time in pune is arround a month as told by my bajaj dealer. I stay at fatima nagar.
There is a standard price chart for exchanging old Pulsars based on the year of purchase.
I got 17k for my classic pulsar 150cc , the very first model!

I have boked the bike from Indranagar Khivraj in Bangalore, so I went there - showroom was closed. Left the place thinking my Bad luck. I was so superexcited I took my TVS Excel to 55 on the speedo imagining myself riding Pulsar..!!

That is true.. I guess I will not die without the bike.. lolz.. will wait for some time check out the market review and then go for the bike.. anyways.. i am planning for the full payment in one go to avoid extra money on the loan interest.. its anyways very expensive in bangalore compared to rest of the cities... most of the times new type of bikes do comeup with some or the other issues.. 200ns does not seem to be having any issues as such as if now.. but you never know.. will wait for a month or two and then buy it..

Hyderabadis... The wait is over for us. Launch is expected in next week as 4 bikes has arrived in city @ Deccan Bajaj.

YELLOW is the Eye-candy, black & blue seems under-shadowed standing next to Yellow. Red color still not available.

U need to break into their warehouse(BY REQUESTING THEM)to see it else they will tell u that bikes has not arrived yet.
lol this reminds me of that p180 ad were they break into the showroom just have a glimpse of the bike..

2 days before I was passing by RTC X Road when suddenly I stopped in middle of road all of a sudden, I doubt I have seen BUMBLE-BEE mistakenly as there was a small promotion of Bajaj bikes courtesy Deccan Bajaj. As I turned back if I was not dreaming, there was a yellow 200NS and I was like OMG!

I asked that showroom official if any test ride is available, he told u can visit their showroom & see BLUE, RED & BLACK colored ones there.

Today morning I went to their showroom and guess what, a salesguy told that 200NS will come only by month end. I convinced him to say the truth as I told him yesterday only I saw it. He then told me 3 bikes has arrived (very first lot in Hyd) but are hidden in warehouse and will be on display only when pricing is revealed for Hyd city.

I went to workshop and search whole area, then catched another guy there and convinced him too to show me the bikes. He told "terrace pe jaao, 3 bikes hai - dekhlo"

The only place u can meet it EYE-TO-EYE is in the warehouse of Deccan Bajaj @ Ranigunj (adjacent HONDA showroom).

Launch is very near as per Deccan Bajaj people.

Thanks bro for all the info..Appreciate your prompt response...Any update from them on the on Road Price....

Heya buddy... Well, exact pricing will be told to me tomorrow. But the dealer said definitely above a lakh. He expected it to be around 1,01,500 without accessories. So we can expect around 1,04,000 with accessories like bike cover, helmet, centre stand etc.

STUPID Karnataka Govt ! First of all so many taxes, upon that extreme taxes for petrol and over that excessive taxes for vehicles... Man!
