I thought its 3k for all the numbers and bidding decides the owner. But for that number its 50k even without any bid . I dont know anything about the other states motor vehicle department policies.
OT- I guess this happens in all states ,I remember reading in newpaper long time back the number AK47 being bid for few 5 Lakhs .

Chintan bro, I saw your bikes number

How much did you pay for this ?

Here its KL 40 G 4xxx range and 4444 is open but the booking amount for that number is 50k

1 lakh for bike and 50k for number

In Chennai, my friend just went to get a fancy no. for his bike. The guy told him that 8888 is a government no. and it will cost him 40K. .

                • Got my bike Delivered Yesterday.

Its just been a WOW moments all time from evening to night.
Nearly 15-16 people stopped me and enquired about the bike (I'm not exaggerating here ).
And at a petrol bunk near my house, all of the workers and few people crowded me asking and checking the bike, I was with my girlfriend and she got embarrassed and got down when so many people gathered round the bike .

A lot of stares and followers on road for the RED colour beast, and I feel as if I'm driving a Imported bike .

Finished 45km yesterday and really loved the the bike and I guess I don't need to tell the positives as they are all over this thread.

                  Few of the usual issues:-
                  1. Rear disc break sound started after some 20-25 km.
                  2. Idling is set at 1.5K for initial start and later it goes to 2.3K, which is very loud at signals.
                  3. Me being 5.5" and the bike being 150+kgs, its little straining for my legs during high traffic.( although there is no problem in controlling the bike)

I was not able to take any pics, but they will come over this weekend.

Theoritically yes, but as you go southward in India, nuisance increases. If you come to Maharashtra (mainly in Pune), then if you sport a number other than the one starting with "MH", the cops will catch hold of you asking if you have paid the maharashtra road tax. You are fined if you dont show the receipt of the tax paid. If tax is not yet paid, you must at least have the NOC of the RTO of the state you bought the bike from.
Likewise, in Bangalore, they will catch hold of you if you ride anything other than "KA".

This is far less in the north of India.

A lot of 10 vehicles arrived out of which 6 are yellow, 2 are blue and one each of black and red. Thanks govind.one for asking me to call customer care .. I was the first one to book the bike in their showroom and those losers gave the first lot to those who paid the full money first . I mailed Bajaj, and in the next 15 mins got a call from the dealer telling he is sorry and that the first red bike that comes in there second lot will be mine. And they stayed true to their word. But the registration process will take one more week so will get the bike only by next Friday :banghead: :banghead: . Sad part is I will be going out of station for 10 days, so will just take the bike and keep our and go. Will start riding only by 20th. :banghead: :banghead: Saw the bike and noted down the chassis no. No niggles. Also got my pro biker gloves today.. So double win!! Seems like I have got all the accessories before the bike itself . Got the helmet, gloves, keychain, and will be going to buy the cover..

and @govind.one, yes what you heard is true. Finally we are hearing something similar from the showroom people . And I was at the showroom today from 6-6:30. Were you there then?

I went for down-payment and bank process last saturday bro.. did not go after that.. maybe after delivery we can tour annanagar together..

The registration taking this long is irritating me like anything... that guy kept me calling me hourly for down-payment and did not even drop a message saying full payment was received from the bank.. idiots!

I wish someone would clarify if that kind of RTO procedure is true.. Which RTO would not register on Thursday and Friday??... something is fishy there.. itching to write to Bajaj customer care again..!!

                      And hey.. great gloves!!!

Cleaning would solve disk noise.. Idling will take some time to settle.. New engine`s friction might be it.. Height issues.. You will gain confidence and control in the time to come!

Thank you guys a lot.... as i thought yellow only is looking best . Green if see just the tyre, is looking very cool but not going with the yellow color of the bike. Will go with yellow. Thanks for ur efforts guys.

Thats a good news if they were racing with u ( though u shouldnt get involved in street racing and all) , but i have seen many people who just race past some other bike and think that they beated the other guy/bike even though when the other person is not even racing with them. I have seen many R15 morons who came next to me ,reveved their engines hard, and then sort off trying to race with me and then zoomed past and i am sure they would be thinking they beated P200NS, when the reality is that my bike is still in run-in and i dint even bother to entertain them.
Also in street race its the capability of the biker that makes the difference, not the bike (though bike also has a part but mainly biker). And then other factors like traffic conditions ,quality of tyres etc etc. NOM to anyone, just gave my view. Sorry for OT though.

                        • Pulsar 200ns

Hello Guys, Finally yesterday evening i got my pulsar 200ns Blue color. Bike is awesome, i love the way it take pickup even at 6th gear. Little vibration is there at 3500-4500 rpm but it will be alright when engine will become smoother. No center stand thats the big issue here! Today morning i heard some sound from rear disk brake, one suggestion for ns owner "use rear brake as much as you can" it will help you to reduce unwanted sound asap because rear disc is new. And i dint like the sound comes from side stand when we pull it up! Anyway bike is awesome, just waiting till running time gets over to check the bike performance

Oh, I thought u are comming to Kolkata to give me a taste of ur Ride

I dont think Bajaj Can help with the RTO problem.
Try finding ur state's RTO website, and follow up with the rules.

But ya, the Not registering thing on weekdays looks absurd

Well, even if mails are given, I think this mod will be done by bajaj only on next UG model
Correct, but what I want is it should be done. A temperature meter is a must for this bike. I will be extremely happy, if they find out some way to include it in the Pulsar 200 SS version which would be set for unveil, I guess by December or January as per speculations.
