On the tank.. or maybe on the front dome.. I am not sure!

On the tank. That portion between front seat and upper tank. In pure black.

IMO, don't put anything in front dome. or near headlight. Make it stock. Any thing will spoil the look.

Man, that is such a good idea and if you can get it in the same material as a tank pad it will also have a practical purpose as well.

You are fined if you dont show the receipt of the tax paid. If tax is not yet paid, you must at least have the NOC of the RTO of the state you bought the bike from.
Likewise, in Bangalore, they will catch hold of you if you ride anything other than "KA".

This is far less in the north of India.
you mean if i go to bangalore from kolkata just for 4-5 days i have to pay road tax...? What happens when i cross multiple states to visit bangalore? I have to have to road tax in every state? Crap policy man....
@govind.one: bro fill anything u feel like... It really doesn't make much difference practically... And dont pamper the bike in run in by keeping it below 50kmph... Just ride it casually as you would do post run in but dont rip it hard... Babying a bike is worse than riding it fast... The more you try to pamper it, more you'll find trouble... IMO 2k run-in period is just crap...its just bajaj trying to be on the safe side... Most of the harm is done when one starts to thrash his bike suddenly just after run-in... Everything should be done in a gradual manner... Exploit the full rpm zone in run in but do it in a slow way...slowly take it to 8-8.5k rpm an then slowly let it come down... Dont rip it

Its simple, the cops have no way of knowing that you are in the state for 3-4 days or years. They might appear as extortionists, but they are also doing their job. So unless one can prove that they have only recently entered the state then there is no way the cops will understand that.

So ensure you get fuel slips with vehicle number everywhere you fill up, this way you have proof that you just travelling by road through the state!

One of the fundamental right of an Indian citizen is "you can live and travel anywhere in India". And motor vehicles act says you can drive a vehicle in another state for not more than 1 year, without registration in the new state. Cops can't prove you are driving a vehicle for more than 1 year in the state and for your safety, carry toll/fuel receipts of different state to prove you entered the state not less than 1 year back.
This topic is discussed many times and a separate thread exist for it.

I have a Karnataka registered P220 and am riding in Assam. Cops stopped me for a general checking once and after seeing my other state registration, he just matched my engine number with that on the RC, just to confirm its not a stolen one! And also for my own safety, I visit the Meghalaya border once a month and take a fuel receipt!

Thats the advantage of being locally produced here. The same applies to Merc's,BMWs, Audis when it comes to India, they become 2-3 times costly which otherwise in US can be seen on roads like Maruti cars in India.

AFAIK there is a rule which says u can ride the other state registered bike in different state for a year without paying any taxes. After a year u need to pay taxes if u still want to use.

If you read the whole article from the link in my signature you will find that your query is discussed and it says that even if your bike comes with synthetic oil from the factory you should change it to mineral before you ride the bike and then again after 20 miles and from there on stick to mineral oil for at least 1500 miles after which it is safe to use any kind of oil you prefer.

PS: Obviously you should do it only if you are going for the motoman break in which I completely endorse.

                            Cheers, ride safe.
