1stly never trust a Digital Fuel Indicator to be even 90% accurate. They always seem to have their mind of their own. However with more riding experience, one will get a fair idea about the fuel from the indicator. Also when the Orange light comes up, do not instantly assume that the fuel has gone to reserve.

Now, when your bike ACTUALLY goes to reserve, rest the Trip A to zero. Go to the nearby fuel pump, and reload the tank. Try to be consistent with the refueliing.(I mean try to top up with a fixed Qty every time- say Rs250/- or 500/- or 3 ltrs or 8 ltrs whatever u are comfortable with) This will help you to have a fair idea of how much kms can u go with that fuel as per ur bike's mileage.
Then again when your bike ACTUALLY goes to reserve, note the trip meter, and reset it again. Repeat the whole procedure. Now doing this 2-3 times will give you fair enough idea abt the fuel and the mileage you are achieving.
yes ur right i had discover 135 and never used digital meter bike ns is the first ,thanks for ur good discr... i will do same step to get actul milage ....thanks

No, there is no engine guard for NS as of now. Duke's cover will not be suitable for NS.

        • Guys who ever taking delivery of the bike kindly confirm the back huggers or any outfitting screws are tightened properly before leaving the showroom..

I have experienced 2 problems as of now:

          1. Rear tyre huggers screw was not tightened properly resulting one missing screw and cracking sound(thak thak) from rear part..Now have to go to Khibraj B'lore to fix it as near by Bajaj dealers don't have that..

          2. Horn failed .. Now currently my bike is without horn.. I tried a lot but could not fix it .. The wiring and engine is so compact that one cannot think of rectifying small issues ..

Though guys the overall experience was nice .. If you go beyond 4th gear you will literally forget that its a brand new bike as the performance is so smooth .. Brakes are quite impressing, your confident level will go high applying those ..

Today even my registration number came.. Now confused which number plate to fix.. Can anyone let me know from where I will get the IND number plates in Bangalore and a rough idea of the charges.. The showroom guys told me its somewhat 750 Rupees...

          • Black is 85-90% and red is 10-15% in cherry black color.

            • Modifications!

              1) Did add the other P220 horn. Now it sounds like God!
              2) The two screws of the saree guard are fixed to the inner hugger. Not being able to remove it just like that. Somebody said that it was DIY.

The dealer asked me to fix the color now as he will deliver bike to my dad on 16th and he said he assures that nothing will be wrong with the bike.

So Give me an idea, Is it okay that I give my dad the responsibility (He is a commuter- 100cc Biker ) or shall i force him to delivery me on Sunday? (He said he normally never does)

And most important question of all is here :

I decided to go for black in the beginning and then switched to red later on. But, None of my friends and even my parents seem to endorse me. They seem to have sticked on to red while my friends say "Fear the black" will still continue even though this NS variant black is not that a hit compared to 1st gen pulsars.

Now, I've to tell the dealer a color as soon as possible (Don't worry I'll keep him waiting till tomorrow i guess)

Please tell me this, How much is the cherry black contains the cherry color? (I need a percentage split-up) (say 20% - cherry and 80% black)

I know it is difficult to have the red color maintained, I guess it is equally (or more ) greater to maintain the black one. Do you think this black will fade? I'm specific about this black because, when i first saw this cherry black in flesh, it gave me a feeling, that the P-180 was dipped in ground-nut oil and left in hot sun for a day!!

Gimme some idea about the two color variants in NS (I know it is personal opinion, still some nostalgia or advice that could flash something up :P )

Also let me know your color choice and the reason behind it (I found is sekcy etc.,)

Refreshing the page once a minute. Please do spend a few seconds to reply in case you read this.
The cherry color in the black NS is not that visible unless you see the bike in bright sunlight .I dint like the black color initially when i saw the bike in the pics ,but in flesh it looks much much better .

P.S - I have booked the red one though ,just my personal choice no logic or fundas involved related to durability and all ."just liked it so booked it ".

                    .
my horn had failed too on the day of delivery. It was a simple problem due to a faulty fuse. They got me a new fuse then and there.
the next day my tail lamps were not working. So i suggest everybody to check all the electical stuff before delivery.

                    • There is one thing i want to tell u guys , i may not be satisfied with the service center but i am very satisfied with bajaj people.

Bajaj people regularly call me to ask about the bike how is it working ?? are you satisfied ? is there any problem ?? , they also remind me many times for the service. yesterday i again got a call from bajaj itself they said a team engineers is coming to delhi specially for pulsar 200ns and to know its feedaback from the customers so would you like to visit.

i said yes , now they will rectify some of minor problems in my bike and i will give them a nice long feedback about the bike. any suggestions or questions anybody wants to ask can tell me i will try to clarify from the engineers !!

I must say they are giving special treatment to the owners of pulsar 200ns

You can remove the saree guard easily, use Allen key to unscrew & buy two washers screw the bolts to the inner hugger.

IND plates are available, for 450-480 bucks at JC Roads, there are many shops who get it prepared withing 30-40mins.

So seniors, am nearing my first service. 430+ on ODO. Will be visiting SVC soon. Remember that "AFR thing" in my and other NS's?
What I needed to tell them? Make AFR from lean to rich or what else.?
Ask them to make the AFR or CO% at optimum level. If your AFR is lean, the machine will loose it "pick up" and will run hotter and will have morning starting issues. Too rich, and the fuel efficiency will drop drastically.

Actually, the stock horn is not that bad, but the positioning of the horn is! Removing the Sareed Guard is a DIY thing. Just remove those three screws with a help of allen keys, and then bolt them back, this will keep the chain cover in place.

                              • Suggest service centers in Pune

I will be completing 500km by this week and wanted to give the bike for service on saturday..

I know of two till now
                                1. Near wakdewadi (on the road from agricultural college)
                                2. Sai service (Balgandharva near JM road)

Any feedback on these service centers in Pune? If you know of any other where you have had a good experience, kindly suggest..
