Just ride the bike normally, as you would if you weren't in a hurry. Keep acceleration gradual and let the bike experience as much engine braking as possible. This will give you a good run-in. You seem to be doing fine, nothing to worry about.Originally posted by bhuwansaini View PostA good rider has balance, judgment, and good timing. So does a good lover!

that is too low... Maybe your bike needs a proper tuning, check tire pressures and just forget about run-in speeds...if you want to extract mileage try shifting at 4-4.5k rpm... Rpm is imp than speed... Get the 1st service done and check thd mileage again...Originally posted by bhuwansaini View PostRidding tips please?!
I have clocked 236 km on my NS. It hit reserve at maybe 210 km and considering 1-1.5 ltrs wasted (could be less) in leakage(minor issue solved) and 2.6 reserve, I have got a mileage of 26-27 kmpl. I plead guilty and regret to full throttle on multiple ocassions, twice hitting 100 kmph. I mostly cruise on sixth gear at 50- 54 speed. I know it says to ride at 48kmph in manual but I'll be more motivated by ownership experience. This Tail Is Japani Tail (spell as you like)

Hey bro even i have clocked 275kms...after calculating the average i got mileage of 32 kmpl...even i have taken the bike to the max...hitting more than 100 kmph 4-5 time in tht period...Originally posted by bhuwansaini View PostRidding tips please?!

I should also add that at all times except when it touched 100, bike's rpm was always less than 5k and at most times 3.5k. (50-52kmph, 6th gear)
What I have been doing till now is gradually increasing speed and let it come down on its own to vary the rpm(b/w 3.5k and 4.5k) because I read somewhere not to put bike on const rpm for longer periods during run-in. What counts as a "longer period"?Originally posted by neoakshay View PostJust ride the bike normally, as you would if you weren't in a hurry. thanks that was informative.Originally posted by extremerocker00 View PostTheoritically yes, but as you go southward in India, nuisance increases. If you come to Maharashtra (mainly in Pune), then if you sport a number other than the one starting with "MH", the cops will catch hold of you asking if you have paid the maharashtra road tax. You are fined if you dont show the receipt of the tax paid. If tax is not yet paid, you must at least have the NOC of the RTO of the state you bought the bike from.
Likewise, in Bangalore, they will catch hold of you if you ride anything other than "KA".
This is far less in the north of India.
