        • Done with first service guys.. the 2 mechanics seemed to know wat they were doing.. they were trained specially for this i guess.

Had a problem with coolant leakage.. explains my low level of coolant. they took apart the radiator and fixed t valve . there was no fuss about me hanging around. and they took pics of the leak cause they have to report it it seems. they made a thorough check of the bike before they let me take it

the free service cost me Rs 569.
bike seems a li'l smoother. not much of a difference.
happy with the service tho. invited fr a check up after a week

Thanks for the info.. I think I will check out the covers for bullet and try to buy one... Regards to the registration, they are saying that they have to do the payment to Bajaj and that will take time it seems..

Best in class is LS2 Phobia. Since you are getting Yellow one, go for a yellow helmet. Or a white one. Both will look good in Yellow NS.
Phobia is costing 2.6 here. Check there out.

                      • Engine Oil Query

                        Hi,
The recommended oil by company is Bajaj DTS-I 10000 [Grade : 20W50 API 'SL' or JASO 'MA'].
I got my first service at 451 kms. They used Bajaj engine oil.

But some how I seriously doubt the quality and durability of this oil. So, I was thinking of getting my oil changed at 1500 kms. And then go for 2nd service at 2500 km and then the oil will be changed again. Will this process be good for the vehicle ? What should be your take on this ?

I want to know, Which Point you should go for A. Or B. ?

This is what I'm thinking, I guess
                        A.
@1500 km - Same Bajaj Engine Oil [as it will last 1000 km or so.]
@2500 km - Fully Synthetic Engine Oil

                        B.
                        @2000 km - FS Oil
@5000 km - go for 2nd Service with same FS Oil

                        Valvoline 4T 20W50 - Semi Syn
                        Motul 300 V 15W50 - FS - Best - Rs. 950
                        Motul 7100 4T 20W50 - FS - Better - Rs. 750
Motul prices inquired through Ghaziabad distributors.

Can anyone let me know: if we use after market oil, will it void warranty?
Please let me know if you have something else as advice.
What I'm confused is with when should we use FS or SS like after how many kms?

It will not be a problem. But, ensure that it gets changed ASAP. As these are performance bikes, all the minute particles and dust from the engine gets filtered out by the oil filter. So, its always advisable to get it replaced atthe first service when the oil is changed so that the engine oil is all fresh. But, if its not available, I guess they should have cleaned it and put it back.

                          Engine oil : 330
                          Oil filter : 74
They add an addive for piston : 175 [ although not necessary]

if anything else to be done on your bike, charges may varry. You can find the actual print of deatils of first service at pg 191.

@ Suro & @ JK: great pics bro.
