2nd the fuel tap, even the petrol is less Its remains in 'ON' state...No use of Reserve....
3rd I get 'kir-kir' type of sound from the rear portion of my bike(probably the disc brake)...I dont know where its coming from exactly so cant explain more..
Any solutions Kindly suggest.....

Well, you do haev an option of going to some other service center(or call them) and ask for the oil filter. If you are not done with the servicing, get the oil filter first and do it at one go. Now, its not that urgetn to change to filter, but its good to do so. You can very well use the old one, but if I were in that place, I would have got the filter changed in the first servicing.
I would suggest option A. I have used Bajaj DTSi 20W50 engine oil in my Pulsar 150 only for the first servicing. I changed to Yamalube 15W50 Semi-Syn at 3260 kms. Personal experience with Bajaj oil, its crappy. 500-700 kms and its back to basics of hard gearshifts. At 5310 kms I changed the oil to BP MAK 4T NXT multigrade. Gearshifts are smooth, escpecially after becoming hot, quite happy with it after 1400 kms run.Originally posted by ashwini.anand23 View PostHi,
The recommended oil by company is Bajaj DTS-I 10000 [Grade : 20W50 API 'SL' or JASO 'MA'].
I got my first service at 451 kms. They used Bajaj engine oil.
But some how I seriously doubt the quality and durability of this oil. So, I was thinking of getting my oil changed at 1500 kms. And then go for 2nd service at 2500 km and then the oil will be changed again. Will this process be good for the vehicle ? What should be your take on this ?
I want to know, Which Point you should go for A. Or B. ?
This is what I'm thinking, I guess
A.
@1500 km - Same Bajaj Engine Oil [as it will last 1000 km or so.]
@2500 km - Fully Synthetic Engine Oil
B.
@2000 km - FS Oil
@5000 km - go for 2nd Service with same FS Oil
Valvoline 4T 20W50 - Semi Syn
Motul 300 V 15W50 - FS - Best - Rs. 950
Motul 7100 4T 20W50 - FS - Better - Rs. 750
Motul prices inquired through Ghaziabad distributors.
Can anyone let me know: if we use after market oil, will it void warranty?
Please let me know if you have something else as advice.
What I'm confused is with when should we use FS or SS like after how many kms?
Don't tell the service center guys that you haev changed the oil to some other brand. FS - Umm, I am not sure if that's what we will exploit properly. SS and Mineral should be good. I am using SS and will stick to it till I have my P150. I always thought Bajaj DTSi oil is Mineral as it looses big time in drain interval. I flt like my gearbox had all the sands from Sahara Desert. I checked my oil in the morning and its still Golden brown so may be a 1000 kms can be clocked after which I will be hunting for Motul SS.
Bajaj DTSi oil isn't Synthetic, its Synthetic blend, may be. Mineral oil, as suggested is good for running in as the oil molecules are uneven and bigger as compared to the SS and FS. This helps in engine settling down well. I have read and heard Motul Mineral,SS and FS as one of the very best oil available in India. You can try Motul Mineral and then after clocking around 4.5K-5K kms you can switch to SS or FS.Originally posted by shylesh View PostYet to get my hands on my Red darling.
Thinking of changing the synthetic oil that comes from factory into mineral oil straight way.
What say?
Don't worry bro, the brakes are settling in. They will scrub themselves to attain more proper even surface for better brake efficiency. You can however go for a simple water wash and try to put a lil bit pressure for clearing out dirt/sand which might be stuck in the brake pads. If it still persists, go to the nearest SVC and get it fixed in the first servicing. By that time, I guess it should be good.Originally posted by Cali115 View PostGuys, there some squeaking sound coming from the discs? how can I get rid of it?
and I have completed around 150kms, never crossed 50. Occasionally 70 to vary the speeds of the engine. Hope thats alright.
Responses inline in bold.@sanjeev528 : Ok..I ll elaborate all............
1st ground clearance , I sometimes get struck either by the stones or the high 'speed breaker' so I was asking any kind of extra safety which i can take...
The older gen Pulsars had this flat plate kind of thing which used to protect the underside of the bike and the Exhaustec thingy. You can try to put that on your P200NS and see if it helps.
2nd the fuel tap, even the petrol is less Its remains in 'ON' state...No use of Reserve....
Ok, I sense a problem with the knob out here. By less petrol, have you checked that or just guessing? From what I have experienced, Pulsar tanks can hold like Billions of gallons of fuel with the fuel indicator showing 1-2 or even no bars. (Sarcasm involved
)
You can try to empty the tank and then check if the knob is working or not. If nt, kindly get it replaced ASAP from the SVC.
3rd I get 'kir-kir' type of sound from the rear portion of my bike(probably the disc brake)...I dont know where its coming from exactly so cant explain more..
The brakes are settling in mate. If you are irritated to the core, get a little pressure wash so that the dirt/sand accumulated is washed away.
Any solutions Kindly suggest.....Last edited by Akash.Yadav; 08-05-2012, 05:45 PM.Regards,

As of now, there is no engine guard available for NS. You can try as Akshay Yadav said, but always remember, its a liquid cooled engine.. so, in Manual its saying DONOT cover the front portion of engine, that will affect the cooling of bike.
2nd the fuel tap, even the petrol is less Its remains in 'ON' state...No use of Reserve....
You have to turn it to Reserve. When there is only 2 bars left in fuel gauge, reserve/shift indicator starts to light up. Never look into it. On the go, when you find missing, turn the knob clock wise 180. Reserve is 2.4 ltrs.
3rd I get 'kir-kir' type of sound from the rear portion of my bike(probably the disc brake)...I dont know where its coming from exactly so cant explain more..
It'll be from rear disc. Try splashing water to disc.
Any solutions Kindly suggest.....
And guys, now there is very small amount of oil that is seen near and around oil draining screw. Is this a leak?Last edited by J K; 08-05-2012, 06:03 PM.sigpicUSED IN PAST: Ct100, Victor, Xcd 135For a true motorcyclist, the straight portions of the roads exist just to take him from one turn to the next!

Check the oil level daily, very small amounts of leak is negligable, but do a follow up every day. Has it been there since the delivery or is it a new thing ?Originally posted by J K View PostIn Bold..!

Yo J K, have you had the servicing done recently? It might be that the SVC people didn't quite clean it up properly. Use a soft, porous cloth and wipe it clean properly and tighten the oil drain nut. Check it again the next day, if its still leaking and not much in quantity, its ok, else run down the SVC.Originally posted by J K View PostAnd guys, now there is very small amount of oil that is seen near and around oil draining screw. I had few drops of oil leakage on my vehicle. Had given it to SVC. It is rectified, the service personel said me that there is some problem with the gasket and it has been rectified.Originally posted by J K View PostIn Bold..!

I had the same rear disc brake noise. Seems, its fixed permanently. There is some axle issue which is now rectified permanently.

Guys,
Need advice. I heard that my dealer is going to get rid of his dealership by the end of August, possibly after selling the stock bikes.
I've paid 5000 INR as advance for my Red Pulsar 200 NS and he had assured delivery on August 15 (Coz of the colour). He saud the service will continue, even if he stops the dealership.
Is it trust-able? Can I opt out and choose a different dealer from different city (He is the only bajaj dealer in my city) (K R R Bajaj Tirupur)
Suggestions please! You have heard of me, But you don't know me. You know what I'am, not what I've gone through

If he is still and authorized service center no issues, if not then shift to another dealer.
Else the warranty of the bike can go void.
Cheers

Well, if he is discontinuing only the dealership and keeping his authorized service center rights then no issues, you can get it serviced from there, as he is still an Authorized service center.Originally posted by shylesh View PostYea, He is authorized service center/dealer right now.

But just make sure, double check with him and then conform about it.
