Finally I got my Pulsar 200NS. I have an issue to report. Please tell me if any of the other owners experience this problem. My Engine is stalling after electric start after a 6-8 hour rest. Below is the detailed explanation

After starting the bike, I let it idle for 20-30 secs. When I start revving it stalls between 2-3 Rpm range. If I rev it hard enough up to 3-4 RPM it will not stall. The engine sound is exactly like when your bike reaches reserve fuel level and you have to turn the lever. Once the engine is warmed up this issue will disappear. I took it to service and they said that this issue is totally normal and you should use the choke to start ALWAYS after long rests in a day!

I have not experienced this problem on my Discover or my Karizma. So guy what do you guys think? Please share your thoughts.
This is happening for me too. Guys here in xBHP, told its a minor AFR screw issue. Will tell this to SVC in first service.

? Changed oil at 140 Kms. Charged approximately 520. Oil rate is 370/litre. Wonder why it varies between dealers... others please post your costs in kerala too.
Another issue. Horn stopped working all of a sudden

Oil indicator blinks in between. Problem started after 60km on odo.

I've checked it today morning and there was a small droplet of oil near drain screw. But the oil level was intact. No change. In between recommended level. IMO, its not an issue. I will tell this to SVC guys in first service.

If you can't wait till the first SVC, just go to any SVC centre, and firmly ask them to adjust the CO%. Most probably they will try to say "we will do it at first service" or "this is normal" etc, but a richer ratio is always better than leaner. What's the mileage are you getting now?
Am getting average 44 now. Will changing AFR to rich bring down a lot FE?

I've noticed that. Sticker is too loose. Tell your SVC guys to paste a new sticker.

Can anyone tell me their mileage after the 1st service, I heard from one of my friends who owns one, said he losing mileage day by day.

He also said the tyres are of bad quality. Any pointers or suggestions on this.

I am really nervous about this, but am unable to contain my excitement to get my hands on this bike.
The Tyres ARE of bad quality. Let me Give you a piece of advice. Get delivery of the bike. It directly to JC road and exchange your fresh tyres for MRF Zapper FX in the front and Pirelli Sports Demon in the back. I did that and my grip on wet and dry roads are god like!!!

Even I agree to the lean mixture thing. To check if your bike is running lean, try checking if the engine gets hot unusually even after riding small distances. In moderate-extreme lean mixtures, you can hear mis-firings too.
I did not notice any high engine temperatures. There are no Misfiring at all. I will ask my designated tech guy at Popular Bajaj, who I trust to do the tuning properly on first service. I have already run 350kms another 150- 200 first service!!!

The Pulsar logo is already a little loose on my bike! It is not stuck well enough!

            • How many of you guys think the tyres are total crap?

IMO,You can wait for 5k in the odo to change your tyres.

                • At last I got My hands on My RED BEE

All the Xbhp's members Warm thanks for getting me to own this Beautiful Red Pulsar 200ns today from MG Bajaj (Hyderabad).I was seriously following the Ownership experience closely that helped me the initial queries that were in my mind.

Paid On Road price Rs.98156/-, did not take my Invoice as the showroom was Closed at the time of delivery they have given Delivery receipt.

Today apart form my 200ns, 5more ns were also delivered.

Inquired about center stand but was not available in stores.

Now it's time for initial riding experience, starting the self given an nice big grunt that pleased my ears as i was dreaming from Jan'30 2012 to start the vehicle and drive it. Initial drive is so comfortable,no gear shift problems, nice beating.

The technician before handing the keys he had set the RPM 1.4, and shown me the radiator fan working by increasing the temperature.

Please advice whether i should go for Teflon coating right away.

                  So Thankyou everyone here .

Can people also share some experiences about 1st Service and Mileage after the service. I m really concerned about the mileage part.

@CrashOveride2786: What improvements do you see in mileage after change in stock tyres.

                    Thanks in Advance..

                    • Purchase date 04/aug
                      Odo:200

Oil change done, oil filter replaced (rs 518). Now engine seems smoother.
Rectified gear slippage (occasional ) by service personnel
Horn was not working because the clip was loose. Now it's fine.
Normal speed 50-60, highest till 70 at 5k rpm(random bursts).

Has anyone felt sluggishness while maintaining speed specified for the runin time? I felt the ride was better if the rpm is above 3.5.

On a rough translation of speed given for first 1000, the max rpm should be only 3.5k and the next 1000 4k.

                      Happy riding guys....

To the proud ns owners in Kerala. Anyone interested in doing trips to meet nsians in other states? ...sorry mods for the slight ot

How did the SVC guy increase the temperature?? Just by reving the throttle?? If thats the case, then it was NOT the right thing to do.
The Teflon coating offered by the dealer isn't much of use. Its ur choice..

                        • My First ride outside Bangalore

Today I took my bumble bee to a nearby Coffee day outlet( 48kms Approx).
Did not face any issues what so ever... maintained speed in the range of 40-60 (4 to 4.5K RPM)...
On one occasion took it over 7k rpm on all gears for about 10 to 15 seconds... Reached a top speed of 110 KMPH... (Negligible vibes)

Overall a good ride.... many more to go...

                          Here are some snaps:

"After you drive for some kms, engine heats up. After this when you park on side stand, engine oil level is tilted wrt the engine. Cooling is uneven if not allowed to completely cool down and the bike is used again."

What is the merit of the above statement.
What about merits wrt liquid cooled engines.
Pulsar 200NS has center stand as acessory. What about availability? In bangalore?

PS- Booked NS 200 red beast. Obviously don't want to park my bike on side stand indefinitely.

                              Rgds
Can I get some expert advice on this. Sorry for reasking. Don't want my first query on the forum unanswered.
