Before you go to the CDI, why not check if accelerator cables and clutch cables have gone bust!Originally posted by Aytas_sss View PostOk,folks. I seem to have a recurring problem with the throttle response of my bike. Some times, (emphasizing strongly on "SOME"),the throttle roll on/roll off is absolutely smooth and the response is spot on. However at all other times, when I upshift and gradually roll on the throttle, there is an appreciable delay in the power delivery and a jerky burst of speed ,say, after 1.5 seconds. Same thing with the rev-downshift routine. Engine braking seems to have increased in each gear as well. Even more than on my old P200 DTSi. 900 odd kms on the odo in a month or so.
I suspect the problem could be with the CDI,but I don't have the time right now to spend a whole day at the svc to check that fact. Any other possible factors which could lead to this?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

People need to get familiarized. Many people will just stare a custom paint job bike with a well geared rider. Even though the guy next door or the person himself would have the same model, it's just that "eagerness" that people get. After all, who doesn't like a little "proud moment" especially with their newfound love.Originally posted by tejas1509 View PostGot my PUC today.
The kid (surely below 14) was amazed to see the bike. Searched for silencer and eventually asked "silencer nahi hai ?".
I guess not many PUC walas have seen this bike.. The father son duo got very excited and started checking out the bike. Asked me details like average, cost etc..
6 months after ownership and the bike hasn't lost its charm !!!
Enjoy as long as you can boast it.

Check your accelerator cables, guides checked. Because a tangled accelerator cable might produce different different tensions at different times or at different turn angles. Try checking that by starting the bike and turning the bar left and right for any rise in RPM, take good two to three mins identify the issue, usually sometimes they can play hide and seek.
If you still have issues, check your carburettor float, because a stuck float can cause such issues. Do keep us posted.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

From my previous riding experience, it doesn't seem to be the clutch cable at all. The clutch pull and corresponding tension in the cable is perfect at this time.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostBefore you go to the CDI, why not check if accelerator cables and clutch cables have gone bust!
The accelerator wire might be a possible culprit. Have to cross that off the list of possible causes.
Thanks.
Sorry for Back to back posts. Didn't see yours until after I posted mine. No,the idle rpm doesn't rise when I turn the handlebars. That was the first thing I checked,ie; the possibility of the accelerator wire being wound more taut. It isn't the case here. But could you please elaborate the "Carburettor float" thingy. I have zero idea about that.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostCheck your accelerator cables, guides checked. I totally agree...even after owning the NS for over 7 months , the bike hasn't lost its charm. In fact , I believe that NS is one bike which kind of grows on you with time...& that becomes evident when people ask you about its details & limitless staring...Originally posted by tejas1509 View PostGot my PUC today.

Here in Gujarat I believe that the sales of neither the DUke nor the NS are that explosive. As its not a common sight to come across any of these bikes...having said that let me tell you that 4-5 months back even the R15 V2.0 wasn't as common as it is now...and its justified as all these bikes are premium bikes ( ~1 lakh & over ) so mostly its only the enthusiasts who opt for these bikes...also Bajaj didn't launched any TV commercial for either of the bikes which could be one of the reasons...Originally posted by suhas chowdhary View PostOne generic question this one is for the moderator and all the folks.
Please dont be biased,
Is 200ns only a winner in making Online forums to talk about it or did it really convert into sales????
Unlike the previous gen pulsars I rarely see 200ns on the road at least in Hyderabad.
FYI: I own a Bumble Bee
And to be honest I don't have any complaints cuz that ensures exclusivity to us NS owners...at least in Gujarat....

Can you please suggest me the exact air pressure to be filled in for stable riding for a 80kg rider for 200ns.
the SVC guy has put 35 in front and 40 in back when I have given it for servicing(Dont ask me the unit) but now I feel my bike very unstable unlike it used to be.
Completed 3rd servicing with 7343 on ODO....

Is there some sort of a front and rear wheel alignment done in bikes ? which may be causing the kat kat chain noise in my NS ? If so then I think the mechanic didn't get it right last time my bike was serviced.
Also my engine heats up much quicker than it did in winters, say like after 15km ride it's not touchable by hands. for the time I can feel the heat of the engine on my legs (which is normal i know). Is this basically the effect of summer temperatures ? it's usually 33-35C till night falls. After the ride though, the engine cools down just normally as it did before.

Exact air pressure required is mentioned on the bike itself. 25psi for front and 28psi for rear for only rider. With pillion the numbers are 25 and 32 respectively. Just keep in mind that you are suppose to fill air when the tires are cold. If you have ridden some distance just before filling air then the tires are warm so you got to fill a little more may be 2-3 psi more.Originally posted by suhas chowdhary View PostCan you please suggest me the exact air pressure to be filled in for stable riding for a 80kg rider for 200ns.

I keep 26 and 30 in my NS. I ride only a little with pillion daily. I always fill air myself or dictate the air pressure to be filled. Anything more than prescribed and your tire contact patch is affected affecting handling. I have confirmed these things from TVS quality engg during NS camp. He said the tire could even take 70-80 psi. But you are not suppose to fill more than prescribed limit.
Well, I had same trouble and I did a lot of panic about it. But finally this is the thing. Its summer and that's why radiator efficiency is dropped. Bajaj quality engg. said its absolutely fine. This means a little drop in mileage as well.Originally posted by broken87 View PostIs there some sort of a front and rear wheel alignment done in bikes ? which may be causing the kat kat chain noise in my NS ? The Bajaj engg said if there is something wrong with the cooling system, one should observe severe drop in mileage and/or high temperature sensor flashing. If this is not the case then your bike is fine.
Well guys I am gonna go for 3rd service tomorrow. Can you please tell me what all things to be changed/replaced/cleaned in 3rd service.
Also how much the air filter costs?? I was thinking of getting it replaced. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

See behind the service leaflet....everything that needs to changed would be mentioned there.....thought more than half of the things mentioned, SVC people don't do until and unless u force them to....Originally posted by nilesh14587 View PostWell guys I am gonna go for 3rd service tomorrow. The recommended air pressure is for ideal normal conditions. Now you can increase or decrease the pressure depending on the need. Overinflated and underinflated do cause the bike to behave erratically. In all, it isn't that much of an issue. Even a worn out tire can cause the same issue.Originally posted by suhas chowdhary View PostCan you please suggest me the exact air pressure to be filled in for stable riding for a 80kg rider for 200ns.

Engine temperatures perking up in 200 NS is a common nature, and I myself have felt quite a heat riding in traffic, which shouldn't be of any concern whatsoever. Unless your bike suffers power lag, and engine going harsh noticeably, then you have a problem, which is very very rare.Originally posted by broken87 View PostIs there some sort of a front and rear wheel alignment done in bikes ? which may be causing the kat kat chain noise in my NS ? Summers, given, for most bikes do raise their engine temp, as the ambient air itself is warmer, and the result is heat felt in legs and engine heating up pretty quickly. It's absolutely normal, and given it's liquid cooled, the engine can take care of itself.
