As your reply foretell, I'll rest my case, you can continue with bajaj waste Or 200ns bajaj so waste Or whatever may please you. In fact about 9/10 critic of 200ns, haven't ridden ns in their life and are commenting the same by previous experience of 150/180/220"

Thanks mate .. the reason why I thought of chaining the Air Filter because I was having Apache 160 & i was using the Kn&n ..
Since you mentioned there are some issue i will drop the plan ..

Mate,so changing the filter is not a good idea... i having the KN& N filter in my RTR 160
it was working fine that's why i thought of changing it in 200 NS.

How about changing the oil filter to Kn& n oil filter does is there any issue in changing it ??

Hello people, I just finished my 500 kms and took my NS in for its first service yesterday. I took an appointment and went before time to give the bike and was told to pick it up by 4 pm. I went back to the Bajaj SVC around 4:45pm and to my surprise they din even touch the bike. When I asked if my bike was serviced, the casually nodded saying, "we were very busy today sir"!!! I was seriously frustrated not coz they din service my bike, but for the casual reply. They then asked me to wait in the customer lounge and told me it would take an hour to service.

After I got my bike in hand, I paid the expenses and left. The bike is now feeling choked as if something is pulling the engine after acceleration. I have no idea what has he done. I feel like the fuel is over every time I accelerate. I'm so frustrated. Earlier the engine felt so smooth and butter free and now feels choked up.

Instead of messing around with that oil cooler i'll opt for the radiator from the 390 which i think is bigger a d will take care of heating to some extent...

The folks at zipgwheels have changed to MRF Zapper Q on their long term NS. Linky to the review.

Big difference between stock champion P-RG6HCC and NGK iridium CR8EIX. Both plugs tested for around 1.5k kms. FE is slightly better and engine runs a bit smoother with iridium. Throttle response doesn't count for a comparison coz there is no change. Also, the stock plug, when measured with a vernier caliper, was found to have a lesser diameter at the threads! So compression loss used to occur and for some god damn reason, oil deposit.
Silly Bajaj service center spares. Iridium for the win!

P.S NGK CR9EIX can also be used.

My own money is out of question. Still a student :P. Lets see if i get it this time. And this time i am ready to wait because a lot of new 200-250cc bikes are gonna be launched in this period. Also the Fuel Injected Pulsar 200NS will also be launched soon. Already launched abroad.

PS: Noob question to senior members,(new to biking) : What are the main advantages of fuel injection over carb engine? And disadvantages if any?

I am trying to find a Bajaj service center in Pune which offers good and sensible service. Can anybody give me your reviews and point me to the best of them all? My first service is due and I want it to happen smoothly and professionally. I live in Kharadi area of Pune but I am ok even if it is far, just that the service should be satisfying.

                              Advantages of fi over carb:
                              1. Fuel efficiency.
                              2. Normally makes more power over an equivalent displacement carbed engine (exception: p220fi was less powerful than 220 carb)
                              3. Very easy cold starts.
                              4. Brisk throttle response.
                              5. Meets stricter emission norms.
                              6. Automatically adjusts itself to minor changes like installing a stock replacement filter.
                              7. A proven FI engine like the one on r15 needs nearly no major dissemble and maintenance at all. Only the injector needs cleaning.
                              Summary: FI is very convenient.

                              Advantages of carb over FI:
                              1. It is a very simple mechanical device. It just needs a 30 min lesson for a noob to learn how to tune. FI needs experts with know-how in automobile electronics.
                              2. In case any breakdowns occur on a highway, the carb can be serviced by any local mechanic with a screwdriver. An FI, though less likely to fail, in such an event needs an authorised svc.
                              3. The full capacity of the tank can be utilised in a carb engine. FI vehicles are equipped with a fuel pump in the tank to regulate fuel flow. This pump always needs to be immersed in fuel so it is mandatory to maintain a few liters of fuel.
                              4. Maintenance, though must be carried out more often than an FI system, is cheap for a carburetor and is negligible.
                              5. Some FI equipped engines cannot be push started. Not the case with carbed engines. No exceptions.
                              6. Modifications require simple carb upgrades and unlike FI engines, approximation in this regard works to an extent. An FI engine is much more complicated and needs different ECUs for heavy mods. They must be super accurate and this cant be done by a layman.
Summary: carburetors are old, simple reliable technology with abundance of people who know how to work with them.

Well r15 fi is a little different from regular. It doesn't need to be submerged or something. Not really sure but was told by an r15 owner. Please correct me if I am wrong
