  • Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences

I live in vimannagar and gave the bike its first service at sai service fugewadi. I had a terrible experience and the service was done in a rush. U can check my experience a few pages back. I'm just waiting to finish my second free service and trying to find a good personalised service center mechanic who will do the job well. I hate giving bikes at the company owned service centers. They are never consistent.

I was told somebody installed P220 projectors in P200NS and posted in this thread some time ago, but I can't seem to find it. I'd be glad if somebody links me to the post.
          I am back!

Hi there, Could any one of you let me know the correct valve (tappet) clearances for the intake and exhaust valves.
I need to adjust them this weekend since the engine has a lot of valve noise and low on pickup and also there is considerable noise from the engine.
            Thanks in advance.

You can try tucking it near radiator using tape or a tie!

I would suggest just take it back to them and show what they have done and get it fixed from them instead of experimenting. And while he will fix it you can observe how he is doing. Also let the manager of that svc know what is happening under his nose so that we can improve svc's.

now a couple of things bother me

                    1. why they wash the bike before the mechanic works on the bike
at the service center they took my bike and first gave the complete wash and then mechanic work on it and he leaves oil everywhere on the bike on tank on frame every where and after his work they just clean it with cloth and polish the bike and because of this the oil left below the front seat has come below the seat in the form of drop and made my cloths dirty

                    2. the mechanic has opened the tank cover and tank to clean the air filter but when he opens he saw that the air filter is already clean and fit it again without cleaning
my question is that is it a necessary or a regular procedure and you all have gone through this ?

                    3. the mechanic has set the rpm by turning the screw (black color plastic screw which can be turned by hand and is on right side of engine)when i was at service station it was normal but when i reached home engine was running at 2.5 - 3 rpm then i turn the screw myself and bring the rpm back to 1.4 and now rpm always ranges between 1.4 to 1.5
my question is that my turning of that screw myself and bringing the rpm to 1.4 is OK or i have to go to mechanic again

                    4. i told mechanic that my rear disc when hot it is difficult to move the bike with foot means not that bike doesn't moves its that it just little bit difficult to move and he just opens the bleeder valve of rear disc adjust the rear brake light button and thinks he fools me but i said him after he does all this my brake light always remains on though i does re adjusts myself but mechanic does it so because it is a free service
                    1) it is a common practise followed by some mechanics, and is done to cool the engine, if its hot, so that they can save time.

                    2) air filter has to be cleaned at every servicing (by tapping it against something and blowing compressed air on it).

                    3) it is ok if you set the idle rpm yourself, no harm in it. during servicing mechanics usually increase it so that they can start the engine and run it in 1st gear while the bike is parked on center stand (main stand) and lubricate the chain. your mechanic forgot to set it back to normal.

because of so many pipes attached to the underside of plastic petrol tank cover, mechanics find it too cubersome to fix them, and sometimes leave the pipes hanging. you should check the bike completely before taking the delivery after servicing, and in case you find something like this, get it fixed.

you should have noticed it at service center only.

the left side pipe shown in pic is used to drain water if it gets collected near petrol tank lid.

take the bike to service center and tell them to fix it properly.

i would defiantly take the bike to them but the svc is far from my home and if i go there they would just put the pipe to any place on bike so i don't want that

can you please click a pic that where i you bike's that pipe located so that i can do it myself it would be really helpful

but it is a clumsy job to do it yourself, so i recommend you get it done at service center only.

                            hello,
just had 2nd servicing done at odo. 2358kms...I changed the oil to motul 5100 near a local mechanic as svc wont let me put it there...so there is 700 ml of oil left in other bottle of motul so i kept 1300 ml in my bike...but when i check the engine oil, its level seems to be lower than the lower mark on the engine oil window.....and after the oil change i have been ripping my bike upto 8-9 k rpm....but then there is this burning smell coming from that engine oil area( cant locate it excactly)..its worrying and i dont know what is the reason??? is it due to low engine oil level or the old engine oil burning(but i cleaned it after the oil change)...i asked the local mechanic again what is wrong and he says that its from burnt the cluth plates(but that smell dint come before the oil change even if i after ripping) .....what should i do, your thoughts ????? thanks

This happens to all pulsar 200ns owners because the old engine oil burn which is left on the exhaust (pulsar 200ns had under exhaust)some time the smoke is also coming from the rear disc brakes.when applied hard.
