Spoke to the SVC manager on the battery.

Now he says it was battery booster charge and not distilled water top up.

And these were the labor charges

    Consumables - 100
    Chain overhauling - 125
    Battery Booster Charge - 100

Anybody who is servicing at popular bajaj , bannerghatta road, be aware of the charges you are paying.

Hey guys can anyone point out bajaj svc in andheri east, mumbai?
Last night I travelled to mumbai and to my horror the right front fork seal gave up and was leaking oil everywhere.. Also the fork has kind of stiffened up..
Shall I have repaired immediately.. Or leave it for now and get it repaired at home?

It is evident from this comment, that he is making moolah by robbing the customers.

SVC's main source of income is by servicing only, and many of them are likely to fool the people by only washing the bike, changing the oil (sometimes not even that) and giving the vehicle back. In the bill, they say we have done this and that.

To save from this foul practice, one can only be cautious while dealing with them, and if possible, the owner should be present near the vehicle while it is serviced.

That said, I have also had my share of bad experience with Hero SVC s and, they suck big time. I didnt even completed my free services of my previous steed.

With on & off rains , i had to put the rear tyre hugger back again. Is it a direct fit ??

Has anyone been able to fit the Tyre hugger from 2014 models onto the older bikes ? I noticed that the Tyre hugger on the new bikes provide better coverage.

I have a dual tone NS. My friend who has the single coloured NS attached my rear tyre hugger which is bigger than the single coloured NS tyre hugger. It fits perfectly and also provides better coverage.

Thanks sauravdyakuza, that's what I thought.

I asked the SVC about the availability , they seemed to be unaware of the difference. They had tyre hugger, but they couldn't say if it was the old or the new model.

Ask him to refund (100+125+100)=325 + Service tax since labor charge is free during the free services. BTW Consumables is not a labor charge, it clearly shows that the SVC is bluffing and as soon as you intimate them by telling them that you will go to consumer court, they will refund you real quick.

@sauravdyakuza have you managed to get the center stand yet?

There will ask always be slight deformation even after straightening out. This can in turn increase uneven wear of brake pads.

You should claim insurance on it and you would get 85-90% of the cost. This would be the best for you.

Don't have clear info regarding this. Maybe the premium might increase.
Others might be able to explain this more clearly.

May be, or he won't get No-Claim-Bonus on next premium.

Can't we just claim the insurance & switch insurance company?

Hey if your insurance us ICICI Lombard then you should claim. Coz they don't give any no claim bonus. And if any other then too the no claim bonus is 10% of premium. The premium is 6k so the bonus is 600 rupees only. Whereas you can get 1000 if you claim insurance on your 1900 disk. Its a common misconception set up by insurance companies to fool people.
And one more tip for you guys to earn money while taking our insurance.
Step 1 - Go to insurance company website. Fill random details apart from bike year and stuff and get a quote. For example if it's 6000.
Step 2 - Go to a insurance agent. He will also charge you 6000 (which includes his commission)
Step 3 - Tell him you can get it online at 6000, ask him to split his commission with you. If he doesn't agree then just find another agent there are a lot of them at least in Mumbai :-P
